Paignton library will soon be replaced by a new one.

On our day off, my son insisted on going to the George Eastman House. Here is the library, where guests would sit before dinner.

Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge. Probably the smallest library in Cambridge!

Going through archives, all I could find was this low-res version. I really liked this photo. WRPI had a really great music library.

The library of Celsus in Efes, in Western Turkey. Ancient Greek city on a site that has been occupied for over 8000 years. During the Greek Period it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. Ephesus was one of seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation. The Gospel of St. John may have been written in Ephesus and the ruins of the Basilica of St. John and his burial site are nearby. The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was located here. The theatre of Ephesus could hold 25,000 people. Check out my Ephesus album for more images.

Took this the day I thought I would be able to get to the ponds and get some ducks or geese.. That fence around the whole parking lot made it very difficult for me to get down to the ponds.. You either go thru the library and out the back door and down stairs or go on the walkway around the building and down some stairs.. A little far for me without the aid of the walker... Happy Windows Wednesday, Everybody!!!

The Morgan library was built as a private library for the banker JP Morgan in 1906 in New York. It is now a museum and research library and looks like something straight out of a story book.

New York was the first holiday Niqui and I ever took together, so in celebration of our 25th not-wedding anniversary this year, we decided to go back, the first time in nearly 20 years!)

Spreading knowledge, adventure and love one book at a time!

People can take a book for free as long as they replace it with a different book. We have a lot of these in our community. I thought this one was cute because it looks like a ladybug.

The Doheny Memorial Library on the campus of the University of Southern California opened in 1932. It’s still a destination and a draw.

Ephesus, Selçuk, İzmir, Türkiye

This library is not characterised by old folios; it presents itself more as the repository of an enlightened, diversely interested, wealthy family of the 19th and early 20th centuries. For example, it contains the first encyclopaedia in the Czech language. The interest in foreign cultures and countries was satisfied (among other means) by reading the works of Jules Verne and -- Karl May.

There is a small garden next to the former royal residence of King Rama I. It afforded me some very welcome shade and a place to sit for a few minutes

Libraries now wear a deserted look, as reading books becomes a rarity for the younger generations.
