The spice levels here range from a kid-friendly -1 to an unadvised 10. I went for 3 to see what the curry actually tasted like. It was good. Spiciness doesn't really suit Japanese curry.

The one year anniversary this Wenesday, Feb 22 of the deadly earthquake
A magnitude 5.8 followed by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Lyttelton on Friday afternoon the 23rd December, 2011, causing liquefaction to once again erupt from the earth and leaving sewerage, water and power out of action in pockets of eastern Christchurch.
A series of intense'' aftershocks have followed, and hundreds and hundreds'' were recorded by GNS in the 24 hours following the two major quakes, said seismologist Bill Fry.)

The February 22, 2011 Christchurch earthquake was a magnitude 6.3 (ML) earthquake that struck the Canterbury region in New Zealand's South Island at 12:51 pm on Tuesday, 22 February 2011 local time (23:51 21 February UTC), The earthquake was centred 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) west of the town of Lyttelton, and 10 kilometres (6 mi) south-east of the centre of Christchurch, New Zealand's second-most populous city. It followed nearly six months after the magnitude 7.1 4 September 2010 Canterbury earthquake, which caused significant damage to Christchurch and the central Canterbury region, but no direct fatalities.
The earthquake caused widespread damage across Christchurch, especially in the central city and eastern suburbs, with damage exacerbated by buildings and infrastructure already being weakened by the 4 September 2010 earthquake and its aftershocks. Significant liquefaction affected the eastern suburbs, producing around 400,000 tonnes of silt. The earthquake was reported to be felt across the South Island and the lower and central North Island.
In total, 184 (as from Jan, 2012) people were killed in the earthquake, making the earthquake the second-deadliest natural disaster recorded in New Zealand (after the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake), and fourth-deadliest disaster of any kind recorded in New Zealand, with nationals from more than 20 countries among the victims. Over half of the deaths occurred in the six-storey Canterbury Television (CTV) Building, which collapsed and caught fire in the quake. The government declared a state of national emergency, which stayed in force until 30 April 2011.
It has been estimated that the total cost of rebuilding to insurers to be around NZ$15–16 billion, making it by far New Zealand's costliest natural disaster, and the third-costliest earthquake (nominally) worldwide.
The earthquake would ultimately be one of three major earthquakes in a year-long earthquake swarm affecting the Christchurch area, and was followed by a large aftershock on 13 June 2011, which caused considerable additional damage.

Due to an unfortunate timing mix-up Steve, David and Roger had arrived an hour earlier than Terry, who was on a train from Newark. He took a pic from the train of the level crossing as it approached Lincoln Station, little knowing that they were stood at the barriers waiting to cross.
The software assumes that when I turn the mount on, it will be pointing directly at the north celestial pole. It's helpful to at least make sure the telescope is aligned with the mount's axis, so I use levels to adjust it.
Here I level the declination axis, and mark it at 0 degrees on the declination Setting Circle. When I turn the telescope to point to 90 degrees, it should then be aligned with the mount.

Active Assignment Weekly - Signage.
A walk in the sunshine through Attenborough Village today. Had to stop as the lights flashed and the barriers came down to indicate a train was on its way. Thought I'd take a picture of the signage for this assignment, and waited for the train to come by so I could include it in the shot. I tried another on the way back with a slower shutter speed to get the motion blur of the train, but it let in so much light that the shot was completely blown. There's only so much time one can be bothered to spend waiting for trains on a hot day, so this one will have to do.

Playing with extended hexagons and pentagons.
(@144) - Top Pedal Section = 6 x (22-ball extended hexagon (double layer + 2-balls on each end to form diamond)) + 12-ball ring.
(@132) - Center Bulb Section = 6 x (22-ball extended hexagon (double layer + 2-balls on each end to form diamond))
(@318) -Base Pedal Section = 6 x (22-ball extended hexagon (double layer + 2-balls on each end to form diamond)) + (6 x 31-ball pentagons)
Top Pedal Section - fold each extended hexagon in half by pinching them ... then in center ... connect 3-balls on each side and position each upward.
Center Bulb Section - fold the 6 outer tips up and across to make an enclosed donut.
Base Section - Add the Center Bulb Section in alignment with the existing center pattern, Add the hexagons in-between the hexagon diamonds (pentagon pyramid points facing downward along the outer circumference. Pinch the tip of the pentagons together to form a 4 square top.
Old style manually operated level crossing in Cabra, Dublin. Not many of these types of crossings left.

Well what a great evening, watching the Barn Owl was good enough and then this..another beautiful West Country sunset...did I die and go to heaven already?
home in order to come away again! Being our last morning I was up early and, on looking out of the bedroom window, there was a great scene in front of me. So I got dressed quickly and got downstairs, got my camera and was out side taking pictures!!!!
We stopped at Beer Wall on the way home. The water levels were almost back to normal.
