Rolleston level crossing on Station Road at the west end of Rolleston railway station. Friday 7th April 1989
The level crossing gates were released by Rolleston Junction signal box 34 lever until 2nd October 1966 when Rolleston Junction signal box closed. The level crossing was converted to a manned level crossing (full barriers) normally automatically operated with obstacle detection crossing controlled from the Netherfield workstation in the East Midlands Control Centre from 24th October 2016

67016 races through Tamworth High Level on a rake of Res liveried GUV's and BG's.
To the left is a short piece of track that had a buffer stop at the end behind me.
This is the truncated remains of the short and steep connection that linked the L&NWR's Trent Valley line with the MR's Birmingham to Derby line.
All traces were removed mid to late 2000's, together with the points that can be seen near the middle of the train.
The fields to the right of the loco now have houses built on them.
