Day 177/365
Since it had already become quite dark by the time I got to the self-portraits on my tonight's tour of the Osthafen lock, I had to take this at long exposure.
Unfortunately, the wind was always blowing my hair into my face so that it was tough not to get all blurry. I only took 4 SPs, the other 3 turned out total crap (cropped feet and all), and this one was halfway acceptable, but only after playing around a bit with the levels tool in GIMP.
Btw: Someone must have been up there before with a pretty low opinion of a united Europe. Actually I only recognized this when I saw the picture itself, and not while I was looking for an interesting backdrop up there. So much for my photographic eye ;-)
I bought her for the feet (she came with 10)...I also have an 830 and they use the same old style Bernina feet.
It's a good thing I wasn't banking on her being functional as she's not...poor old dear. I've already left her at the mechanic.
This is a **terribly** dirty machine...there's even some mold on the inside of the case...bad smell...ew ew ew!
The only thing I can tell really might be busted are the feed dogs as the lever to raise/lower them is non-functional. Oh, that and she has the common issue with the 730 where the little lever to engage the buttonhole function is frozen.
Other then that, we'll see what my Bernina guy finds out! She's a bit slow...hopefully that's not a motor problem and is instead related to the already-mentioned level of filth.
I hope she can be gotten to work...she's sooooooooooo cute!

AirDrain Installed under Pavers on Walkway at the Oklahoma City Downtown Pedestrian Parkway 180
Oklahoma City has been receiving a facelift lately with the MAPS Program. With all of the improvements along the Oklahoma City River and a booming entertainment district in Bricktown, Downtown OKC has many projects that will make traffic and pedestrian travel easier.
One of the projects in Downtown OKC is the Pedestrian Parkway 180 near the Devon Tower. This will allow pedestrians to have access to multiple buildings from the parking garages and a shorter route from building to building while adding beauty to the downtown area.
Drainage in an area that is mostly hardscaped is typically a HUGE issue, but with AirDrain providing a 1” void beneath the whole parkway any drainage needs are met and exceeded! When the AirDrain is installed below paver stones it not only allows water to flow to the exit drains, it also provides a strong platform for the pavers to lay evenly on. With no large unsightly drainage grates in the foot path for people to trip over or fall in.
Approximately 17,000 sqft. of pavers installed by Elevated Paver Systems completely covers the AirDrain beneath all of the landscape and hardscape features. This means the 1” of air hidden below can drain over 171 inches of rain an hour!
AirDrain grid also provides stabilization, allows for water lines, electrical lines and even radiant heat tubing can be installed below the surface.
Here is the ASTM D4716 Flow Rate per Unit Width and Hydraulic Transmissivity Testing for actual drainage capacity, at a 1/2% slope. The AirDrain will actually drain 171 inches per hour.

La band capitanata da Mark King e Mike Lindup, clamorosamente all’avanguardia negli anni ’80, eseguirà dal vivo i propri grandi successi – come, tra gli altri, “Lessons in love”, “Hot water”, “Something about you” o “Overtime” – ripubblicati nell’antologia “Living it up”.
