This is the plane we had from Tawi-Tawi to Zamboanga.
093005 addendum
my pilot-artist-lawyer friend, Micah, just identified this one! To quote him in this post, the plane is "the Let 410 UVP ...made by (a) Czech factory..,Polish design, but built under license by Avia... (with) 20 seats. The LET was designed to operate from short, primitive airstrips of which the former Soviet bloc had many."

It's amazing how infectious a song can be. On a recent visit, Baylie was entertaining herself ringing the wind chimes then twirling round and round, happy as can be!
These are some more shots of my Tour to Europe in Sept - Nov 2012. I has been a while since I last saw them.. great to be able to catch up on them at last!
Most of these shots were from inside the coach as were only had one full day in Barcelona and there was so much to see. I would have loved to have done more walking around the city so to have gotten better shots of the wonderful city on our Cosmos tour, October 14, 2012.
Barcelona is the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain and the country's 2nd largest city, with a population of 1.6 million within its administrative limits. Its urban area extends beyond the administrative city limits with a population of around 4.5 million people, being the sixth-most populous urban area in the European Union after Paris, London, the Ruhr area, Madrid and Milan. About five million people live in the Barcelona metropolitan area. It is the largest metropolis on the Mediterranean Sea, located on the coast between the mouths of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs, and bounded to the west by the Serra de Collserola mountain range, the tallest peak of which is 512 metres (1,680 ft) high.
Founded as a Roman city, in the Middle Ages Barcelona became the capital of the County of Barcelona. After merging with the Kingdom of Aragon, Barcelona continued to be an important city in the Crown of Aragon. Besieged several times during its history, Barcelona has a rich cultural heritage and is today an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination. Particularly renowned are the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, which have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean is located in Barcelona. The city is known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympics as well as world-class conferences and expositions and also many international sport tournaments.

We spent last night in an RV park in Bishop, California. While I was taking sunset pictures, I noticed these kids playing on top of a low, sandy bluff. My low position silhouetted the kids against the sky
Much-loved New Zealand supermodel Rachel Hunter started modelling at 17, and we first saw her big smile and blonde curls in an ad for Trumpet ice creams. Here she is advertising another dairy product for the New Zealand Dairy Board, in the late 1980s.

A stray kitten that rather took to me. I found it outside my grandmother's apartment in Sant Joan, Ibiza...it was very persistent, mewing early each day like an alarm clock.
Dad says I was being cruel by encouraging it, but I couldn't say no. So I admit to feeding it a few times. This was shot one morning as it was catapulting itself off a chair on the patio onto the door handle as it has learned how to open it.
A tiny few week old kitten on a mission. This is after one catapult mission that didn't work, where he resorted to head-butting the glass of the door to get into the house...
During a day out in Oxford I spotted this gentleman doing very unusual stretching exercises for a long time, whilst his family were doing the typical tourist shots!
The Big Wheel(s)
A Bernal Heights tradition, the fearless racers wind their way down a death-defying mountain race course that rises above urban San Francisco.
Another of this years favorites, this card had a little bit of everything. The unbleached paper card was lightly sprayed with light blue spray paint and then splattered with white, silver, glitter and clear paint. Three 1/8" plexiglas trees were added next. The green of the trees was created by collaging strips of green cut from various parts of magazines and adhering it to the back of the plexiglas. These trees then got rhinestone stars and and hole punched trunks. Let it snow was added with rub-on letters.

I will sometime drive around some of the more industrial areas on the weekends, since there isn't much human activity happening then, so I can sometimes sneak up on some interesting birds in my car (that's how I found the baby killdeer this spring...).
Today - I came across these two. I'm not sure whether the Raven was just tormenting this young seagull, testing out his "moves" on the seagull - or was actually trying to attack it - but it kept displaying to the seagull - then would get a hold of it's wing with it's beak, and then would try to get a hold of the wing with it's foot.
Eventually the raven seemed to get bored, gave up and took off, and the seagull flew away - seemingly none the worse for the encounter.
