Jammu & Kashmir/Ladakh/India (In the land of jagged peaks and barren landscape is at once alluring and awe-inspiring. Leh is the capital of ladakh, and the largest town of the region. It is located to the north of the Indus river at an elevation of 3600m above the sea level, sorrounded with high mountains...)

Leh Palace is a former royal palace overlooking the Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh. Modelled on the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, the palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal in the 17th century.

This is the entrance of Leh Palace. The man walking down sits at the tourist ticket counter. This is in the morning when the palace just opened for public visitors.

Leh, the capital of Ladakh, is located at an altitude of 11,562 ft and the place is notorious for altitude sickness! Took this long exposure shot from Shanti Stupa.

Recently returned from my 'journey of the soul' from Ladakh. The 10 days there were absolutely divine! This is one of my first images from the region, with more to follow.

This is a 3 shot panorama the mountain ranges in Leh. A high altitude desert with little vegetation around, after the harsh winter. The dusting of snow on the ranges and the colours of the soil were really beautiful, and made for an attractive composition.

Thanks for taking the time to view it. Your comments and thoughts are truly appreciated.
