Formula 1 racing is coming to Austin, Texas for the first time this November. As part of the festivities, a three-day "Fan Fest" is going to bring several hundred thousand people to the downtown area. Compass Learning always decorates the outside of our downtown building with seasonally-appropriate scenes using our "CompassLearning Kids". For the upcoming F1 events, we wanted to dress the building up a bit more than usual.

 

I designed the signage and built the soapbox racer seen here.

Learning to skate by Ian GORE

I normally try not to take out of focus photos, but when I came across this scene at Spencer's at the Waterfront in Burlington last week I just loved how the skaters looked through this window. I liked the general shapes of the skaters, because instead of capturing someone else's "moment" and facial expressions I felt this image evoked a stronger emotion from the viewer making them think back to their family skating experiences rather than seeing someone else...if that makes any sense. :D
