Apparently the work of Marmara arbutiella (a leaf blotch miner moth, family Gracillariidae) - leaf mines on a Manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.) leaf. Thanks to Charley Eiseman and Bug Guide for solving this mystery!

With everything going on I haven't picked up my camera in a month. I have had several friends tell me that I "better" pick it back up. To be honest, I am having a hard time seeing the beauty that I was seeing before. I am learning to see life in a different way. Today I am home alone, Daniel is at a friends house and Victoria is at work. Victoria invited me to eat dinner at the cafe and it was really nice getting out and having my daughter wait on me... LOL! When I left I looked over and saw the trees in the yard... I have taken photos of them so many times in the past but it stayed on my mind. So, I pulled the camera out and took a few shots... here's my leaf for the day. =)
Cropped, taken on an FZ200, handheld, and slightly sharpened. I really am amazed that the chlorophyll structures are visible! The lighting on the green caught my eye.
It seems bees have take a shine to one of my trees. It takes a piece of a leaf and then comes back a couple of minutes later, so there must be a nest nearby

Like a waning harvest moon, the color of autumn here in north central Iowa is blowing away with a strong east wind!
I'm still enjoying what's left.... "One leaf at a time!"
