Love heart shaped leaf in green and black and white - nature photography
If you like my work you can see more on my Fine Art Photography and Fractal Art Website
my parents live in the country, 5 acres in the middle of an old growth forest.
I grew up with a favorite tree...
it was my "secret place". I built forts underneath it, played "viking" (don't ask...I was never into Barbies though)
I read "my side of the mountain" and pretended I was lost and surviving out in the middle of nowhere.
until dinner.
I called the tree the Swiss Family Robinson tree because it was almost that huge.
I love going back to visit it~
Taken on a morning walk...beautiful light! Again, unusual composition...but thought that the natural bokeh was perfect.
Edits: Ran through curves a bit and sharpened the leaf slightly. It didn't need much help....it was perfectly and naturally highlighted.
This little red leaf captured my heart, as did my husband and it's a gift to him for his birthday.
It is part of my $100 daily painting project, and paintings can be viewed or purchased at alisonjardine.com. Although, this one is already taken :-)
This shot was framed to catch the diagonal lines that conduct us to the theme: the leafs and flowers. The triangles give some equilibrium to the composition. Also, the leafs and flowers are divinding two different patterns (the marble and "calçada portuguesa", typical in Portugal).
The leaves have slowly been changing in fits and spurts, but most of the maples have looked none too glorious so far.

I love these leaves. It takes a bit of experimentation to get the depth of field to be reasonable, (and it was a real challenge with the wind blowing ... I think I shot this about 30 or more times, and even then I was holding the leaf for stability.)
A random plant in my garden. I love that the light shines through the leaf highlighting all the veins and the little hairs =]
