This is my first permanent lego train layout.
It uses a 6 ft x4 ft plywood base, which comes to about 7 x 5 lego baseplates.
it allows two trains to run concurrently and independently, while a third 'full size' train is temporarily parked, and finally a fourth 'short' one can be placed on the remaining derivation.
The 'city' is mostly laid out in the middle, with a custom made and narrower main street.
A tunnel on the back side allows to place more modulars on top.
In this picture, modulars on main street have their upper floors removed so the shot captures the whole railroad behind them.

Teardown day for my switching layout in my parents basement. Above shot is what it looked like before, and the below is what the room looked like at the end of Saturday.
A sad day to tear down the layout, but everything is packed away to find a new home on another layout in the future.

TexLUG is currently mulling over a potential display at a train show in February. I decided it might be fun to come up with a ambitious train layout.
Uses 8 of the tables offered by the event.
Since my SNES to USB adapters should be here any day now , I put together a layout in MALA to show snapshots and boxart for the SNES games that matches the theme I had for the arcade games.
I'm still considering some minor tweaks on a few things, but I've been working on it a while and its good enough for now
