Prima stash!

It's about time I shared what I've been up to recently. This is my layout project which has been slowly coming along since the beginning of 2020..until recently. With the last lego show before I leave for college almost a month away, I've been cranking away at getting this great project done.

It should be mentioned that a decent number of my builds are hidden off camera, or at least have yet to be photographed and put online. Some make it to different platforms before others, but this is the first bigger reveal of this project and I'm excited to show you what it looks like when it's all done. I've been making so many buildings and models that I can't keep up with sharing them, so what you see in these photos will be shown in greater detail later on.

One of the big things the layout lacks however is a name for the village that it will be based around. The signal box sign says "Wickford", however I don't think this will be the final name. Any suggestions?

Many more photos to come. It's already looking spectacular and i can't wait until it's finished. Enjoy!

A self sufficient home for the tundra world Hibernia

In the days when I was a railway modeller an oft used phrase in the magazines was "Perfect for the small(er) layout" This little train of 5 heavily loaded scrap wagons and a brake van hauled by a shunter which looks 'straight out of the box' sums up the phrase perfectly.

08223 was rumbling past Masborough Station South Junction signal box with a local trip working, the shunter was so clean I wish it had been taken in colour.

The loco was built as 13293 at Derby Works, it entered service at Sheffield (Grimesthorpe) 28/12/1956. It carried the BR number D3293 and under TOPS became 08223. The loco spent all of it's working life in the Sheffield area, it was an early casualty being withdrawn 24/06/1979. 08223 then made the longest journey it ever had to Swindon and a date with the cutters torch 01/02/1980.

myspace layouts 9/17/09

I really hope you like our new layout, this time I decided to go back to our main colors: Pink & Black.

This HUD will be included with future releases from now on.

What's new?

❥ Smaller frame (less screen space used)

❥ Position has been changed from left to right side, this way is not going to block popular head/body huds.

❥ Multi-tab options for:

1. Textures: (Might be adding extra tab for large HUDs)

2. Customize: Tint, Materials, Full Bright, Glow, Delete Scripts.

3. Social Media

❥ Specular Intensity: Light - Medium - Dark.

This option is very useful to work with projectors and bright windlights.

- This feature is not going to be available with all items, this is because some textures require custom materials which are going to be applied automatically with any color/pattern you click on.

- Due to this new feature, I've removed "Glossiness 0 to 100".

❥ Larger Tint frame + RGB Menu.

❥ Storage slots have been reduced from 10 to 3.

Unpacker HUD and Logo still to be updated.

Have a good day!

xoxo

It's a bit messy, but it's hard to get everything in frame if the layout covers most of the floorspace in your apartment.

The Falcon layout was all lights and action, with emergency vehicles with all working lights attending a fire with simulated water and smoke!

On the more mundane side of things, this Optare Tempo has a flashing indicator light. Of different peoples' models I've photographed this year, kit-built Tempos seem to be a recurring theme!

The front wheels on this one I recognise as the generic EFE modern front wheels with trims, as found on Renowns and Paramounts. They are nice wheels and I wish they were available to buy in bulk bags as I'd put them on everything (although EFE's rears are kinda dull).

Description of Historic Place

The Victoria Park Square Heritage Conservation District is situated in the downtown area of the City of Brantford. The district encompasses Victoria Park Square and all the buildings on Market, George, Wellington and Darling Streets that front the Square. The buildings were constructed between 1861 and 1970 and are a mixture of local government facilities, churches, offices, and banks all arranged around a central park.

Heritage Value

Victoria Park Square is the visual focus of the district. The Victorian Formal Park was first landscaped in 1861 based on plans by John Turner. Turner's plans, in keeping with Upper Canada's link to Britain, were based on the configuration of the Union Jack, with four paths intersecting at the centre of the park. Victoria Park Square is a significant gathering place for local citizens. At the turn of the century, when Brantford was a well-developed industrial town and the hub of regional trade, the park was frequently used as an informal meeting place and a centre for leisure activities. The square was also intimately connected to the adjacent churches, as the congregations would linger after services or gather to enjoy church-sponsored activities.

Three buildings that John Turner designed overlook the park: St. Andrew's United Church (1859), Brant Community Church (1883), and his most significant building, the Brant County Court House (1852). The scale of the courthouse makes it the most prominent in the area, exhibiting a grandeur found throughout the square. The district also includes Brantford City Hall (1966); Brant County Registry Office (1920); Andrew Carnegie Library (1902-04); Central Presbyterian Church (1960); John Lind Building; Wyatt Purcell Building (circa 1970); Bank of Montréal (1913-14); Toronto Dominion Bank (1857-59); Canada Trust (1964-67); Canadian Foresters (1952); and Bell Canada (1949).

The Victoria Park Square Heritage Conservation District is a fine example of a traditional Town Square. The buildings form a harmonious streetscape around the park. The situation of each building around the Union Jack design of Victoria Park Square forms a rare composition and creates a sense of formality. The entrances of three of the surrounding buildings, the Andrew Carnegie Library, the Brant County Court House, and the Brantford City Hall Complex, are on the axis of the radiating Union Jack Plan. The Joseph Brant Memorial in the centre of the park creates ties to the fountain at City Hall and to the Statue of Alexander Graham Bell at the Bell Building.

Each building in the district reflects a particular period of architecture in Ontario. For example, the City Hall Complex exhibits Modernism through its free form design, simplicity, and forceful use of concrete. Other styles that are represented include Beaux Arts, Gothic Revival and Neo-Classical. The towers of the three churches in the district add to the sense of grandeur and provide a visual boundary for the square. Overall, the buildings in the square exhibit very formal and symmetrical designs.

Character-Defining Elements

Character defining elements that contribute to the heritage value of Victoria Park Square Heritage Conservation District include the:

- Union Jack design of the centrally located park

- harmonious streetscape created by the formality, grandeur, and symmetry of

the buildings

- buildings that reflect particular architectural time periods in Ontario, including Modern, Beaux Arts, Gothic Revival and Neo-Classical

- layout of the buildings on the axis of the Union Jack design

- use of statues to connect the buildings visually

When I took this photo, the dressing room was very crowded. Hairdressers, makeup artists, they were everywhere, and then I saw her. She was waiting for her hairdresser. But autofocus of my telephoto lens was a bit problem, and so I changed the autofocus manual, and then I switched on again, now it was okay, so I took this photo. I put the focus on layout. It was a typical long day for me, but I enjoyed it.

HAHA Gente foi eu mesma que fiz isso ta lindo demais! Comentem :)

One of the jobs that I find very relaxing to do is building scenery and its a tricky thing to make it look right to the real thing yet not over do it and make it appear crowded. I used to hate doing trees but have now found a technique which though fairly spartan on parts does have the right real world 'look' in my opinion.

I have built a wall and fence and behind them is a pavement and road giving access to the future coal yard and bridge, yet to be built, which will span the station throat to give access to the engine shed etc.

Layout 8 for the 365 challenge

"Orthodox Church buildings today are full of icons, but the very architecture and layout of the buildings are themselves icons of the Church. In the ornamentation of the church, the various iconographical scenes and figures are not arranged by chance, but according to a definite theological scheme, so that the whole edifice forms one great image of the Kingdom of God." Hello all,

Sorry for the long silence, have been bussy with school/ exams and other things in life.

The layout hasn't chanced very much since the last post, I added some minor things but not very much.

Today I built up the layout in the living room to check if the tracks were smooth and if there were any other problems and afther some tests I started packing for the Noppenbahner event this weekend.

There are some small things that I need to improve so thats a nice task for tomorrow.

Enjoy the pictures!

The switching layout is now pretty much finished. All areas are polished off and it’s a blast to operate. I’ve been quite happy with all the subtle details I’ve been able to model with this layout. It’s very fun to operate and I think really compliments whatever is running at the time!

A centrepiece for my CS layout

This is the newly modified layout (v2.0). I was struggling with the first iteration. It was very limiting being pushed against the wall. So I added some aisles along the walls and it complete changes the look and feel.
