Currently re-designing part of the layout....adding all Lego modular buildings! It is now 9 square meters....!!

This was a promotional image from Rite-Aid's website featuring the store layout from the mid-late 1990s. This was the photo processing area, they were typically located in the corner of the store, if you were standing in the entry, it would be straight in front.

Classic Space MOC layout, Geel - Belgium 2019

Today I wanted to play a bit with a digital template. I did NOT want to build this page twice when PSE froze on me as I was trying to save. Grrr! But it's amazing how much faster it goes the second time once you've made all your paper choices. :)

HAHA, esse layout eu fiz em pedido de uma amiga a dona do blog LucyLovatoBR.tk, ainda estamos organizando o codigo por isso que ele ainda não foi ao ar.

Opinem !

The switching layout is now pretty much finished. All areas are polished off and it’s a blast to operate. I’ve been quite happy with all the subtle details I’ve been able to model with this layout. It’s very fun to operate and I think really compliments whatever is running at the time!

The Concorde was completely redesigned for the 1998 model year. The new design was similar to the new Chrysler LHS, however the two models each had a unique front end shape and different rear fascias. The "Second Generation" design was introduced in 1996 as the Chrysler LHX Concept Car. This concept vehicle had large 20" wheels, and a centrally located instrument cluster. The wheelbase was expanded to 124 inches (3,100 mm) to allow for rear passenger supplement restraints, rear occupant entertainment center and storage compartment.

Despite overall length increasing by 7.5 inches (190 mm), the second generation's weight dropped by nearly a hundred pounds. This was achieved by extensive use of aluminum for the rear suspension, hood, as well as the two new engines. In addition the 214 hp (160 kW) 3.5-liter V6 engine, there was also a new 200 hp (149 kW) 2.7-liter V6 and 225 hp (168 kW) 3.2-liter V6. The 3.5-liter was redone and output upgraded to 253 hp (189 kW) and was available on the 2002-2004 Concorde Limited (formerly LHS).

Much was done in the design process to make the second generation LH sedans look more distinct from each other. The 1998 Concorde differed far greater from the Dodge Intrepid and the new 1999 Chrysler 300M (successor to the Eagle Vision), than did the first generation models. With the exception of the doors and roof, the Concorde shared little sheetmetal with the Intrepid and 300M. The new Concorde's front end was underscored by a striking full-width grille, relocated to the front bumper to give the impression of a bottom breather. Sweeping curves and a more rounded front end also helped set the Concorde apart from the Intrepid and 300M. The second generation Chrysler LHS had an appearance very similar to the Concorde; The only major differences being its more centrally located single frame grille and amber turn signals on the taillights.

As in the previous generation, six passenger seating with a front bench seat and column shifter was optional. Cloth seating was standard on base LX with leather seating optional. Leather was standard on upscale LXi and later Limited models.

The Concorde, 300M, and Intrepid were discontinued in 2004. The all-new Chrysler 300 replaced the Concorde (and 300M) in late 2004 as a 2005 model.

The Concorde 2nd generation replaced the first generation car (launched in 1991), itself derived from the AMC division Eagle Premier (and Dodge Monaco). Interestingly, these two AMC products were directly related to the then-new Renault 25 and inherited the Renault north-south installation of the powertrains, with the engine mounted ahead of, and driving, the front axle. This layout is very similar to that used in the larger Audis, thus permitting the installation of a all-wheel-drive system for added traction, though there were no volume models of either the AMC division cars, or the latter LHS platform Chryslers that used this system.

Notes on each of the aircraft Concorde and automotive Concorde are taken from excerpts published on Wikipedia.

The two models shown here, the Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde and the second generation Chrysler Corcorde have been designed in Lego. The aircraft in approximately 1:50 scale, and the car in miniland (1:21) scale for Flickr LUGNuts 79th Build Challenge, - "LUGNuts goes Wingnuts" - featuring automotive models named after, inspired by, or related to aircraft.

My husband and I went to a Wheel of Fortune audition. While we didn't get picked, it was interesting to see how it worked. This is something that because of how the day turned out (not too exciting), it's not something that I would have scrapped because it didn't turn out to be a big thing or a cool thing. BUT we had fun so it is worth it.

Earth Designs Garden Design and Build were asked to created a landscape and propose garden design in Mill Lane, London*. Here are the details of the project

Brief: The brief from this client was to create a low maintenance, accessible and above all stylish garden, suitable for dining and entertaining. The client was looking for a real 'wow' factor and wanted the exterior of their property to mirror the high finish and individuality of their interior space. The existing space suffered from many drawbacks - it had an uninspiring, drab layout and was excessively overlooked from flats above and to the right and left. Its North facing aspect means that it does not benefit from a great deal of sunlight.

Solution: This design created create a stylish and contemporary space with a plethora of visual stimuli that offers extensive opportunity for enjoyment throughout the year.

The existing fencing along the rear and right hand boundaries was clad with opaque purple Perspex sheeting to create a uniform, modern backdrop to the space. Two distinct seating areas, each designed with a different use in mind, were created to allow the client maximum scope for entertaining and relaxation.

The first, in the top right corner of the space, forms the main focal point to the garden and comprises a slightly sunken conversation pit enclosed within a four-poster bed style structure. Constructed from sturdy railway sleepers, this area offers ample space for lounging and serves as a visually imposing talking-point. One side of the structure includes numerous open shelves, allowing the client to display a variety of sculpture and ephemera, while a second side houses a bespoke stainless steel water feature. The water feature itself is comprised of a large stainless steel tank fed from above by two stainless steel water blades. For comfort, large custom-made weatherproof cushions cover the conversation pit floor. These cushions can be removed and stored during inclement weather.

The second seating area, centre left of the space, comprises an L-shaped railway-sleeper fixed bench backed by a railway-sleeper raised bed. Serving as an informal alfresco dining area, this section of the space benefits from a low coffee-style table with a second table at kitchen-counter height, beside which the client has placed a BBQ for alfresco food preparation.

Flooring throughout is in attractive cream travertine, laid in a formal grid pattern and inlaid in the centre with a single rectangular strip of plum slate tiles, providing an elegant contrast to the dark stained railway sleeper structure and seating.

The left hand boundary was clad with stainless steel sheeting to create a stunning backdrop to the dining area. This panelling continues along the boundary beyond the seating area to mask a bespoke storage area in an alcove to the left of the space. The stainless steel theme is echoed with the addition of six stainless steel planters placed at intervals around the edge of the paving.

Planting in the space follows a strong architectural theme, consisting of sculpted box balls and tall, elegant allium in the raised bed, framed by the primeval fronds of dicksonia antartica (tree fern) clustered in the flush bed beyond. The box ball theme is echoed in the stainless steel planters spaced around the paving and a variety of climbers have been placed so that they will gradually adorn the Perspex fencing over time.

A comprehensive lighting scheme was installed with mood and accent in mind. Down-lighters installed within the alcoves of the railway sleeper shelving unit create a centre piece of the sleeper structure, while stainless steel bollard lights frame either end of the bench in the dining area. The paving is edged with in-ground up-lighters placed in front of each stainless steel planter to give balance to the space, while a submersible light installed within the water feature tank casts a gently undulating light across the back of the space. Low voltage spots cast a gentle glow across the back of the space and weatherproof wall-mounted infra-red heaters, one in the conversation pit and one on the boundary wall beside the bench seating, allow continued enjoyment of the garden on chilly nights.

Testimonial: "Many thanks, we are so thrilled with the entire garden. It is imaginative and bold but also practical and truly reflects our personalities! You have transformed an ordinary space into something quite magical."

Pictures from Norwegian LUG Brikkelauget's layout for the 50th anniversary event for LEGO Norway. This house was built by CowboyGibson. The limo is mine.

Since I feel like that picture was already confusing enough, let's look at the layout before we go any further. This store is certainly unique, to say the least, so hopefully the pictures will help this make more sense. For starters, this store is just a part of a multi-tenant building -- there are other stores in the "notches" in the bottom of the plan. Additionally, it was assembled out of various separate tenants, and is divided into four major spaces -- the front section, which is mainly taken up by the service departments, the back left section, which is on the same level as the front section and holds most of the grocery aisles as well as the perishables section, the upstairs (half a story above the main section), which includes the liquor store, health and beauty, and the pharmacy (a strange mixture :) ), and the downstairs (half a story below the main floor), composed of the general merchandise and home improvement section.

That's right -- the store has a fairly large home improvement section. It's essentially a cross between a Fred Meyer and a normal QFC, with a compressed version of Fred Meyer's general merchandise selection (mostly the home part) combined with a full QFC food selection.

I'll also note that this layout is not exactly what these pictures show. Sometime in the last few months, the central portion of the store was reconfigured, with a few aisles taken out to accommodate more self checkouts. Then, just recently, the back entrance and checkouts closed, supposedly due to issues with theft.

4x4 baseplates layout for my local LUG

1. Space invaders - hot pink, 2. Space invaders - light pink, 3. Diagonals, 4. Diagonals, 5. Random 2, 6. Random 1

Created with fd's Flickr Toys.

I'm giving B all the credit (or blame) for the Space Invaders. I'm not sure I entirely like it, but I'm not sure I entirely hate it.. The question is.. is it appropriate for a baby quilt? For some reason, this looks like more of an "adult" layout.. why, I dunno.

My pick right now.. Random 2.

I really love this layout, especially the tag structure.
