Your assignment for this week is Layered, (and I don't mean photoshop layers!).

I'm after photos that demonstrate the compositional technique of layers or layering to create depth in photography.

WIT: Some heavy cropping - it was a much wider shot, but this portion seems to show layers the best. The landscape did the rest! This is the edge of the sod farm that I walk daily (with permission). It overlooks several long, narrow farm fields that butt up on to the Skeena River (which is very close to flooding as I key this). And the fields are overlooked by some foothills and the Coast Mountains. The mountain with the glacial circque is called Sleeping Beauty. There is smoke mid left - someone is burning something.

Valley of Fire is full of examples of layers of rock that are tilted like this.

Women aren't too far behind! A 'govinda' comprising of only ladies tries their hand at a pyramid. Here they are successful in erecting a 4-layered structure. The applause that these ladies got was phenomenal. Too bad you can't hear it through the photo!!

I bought all those lovely baking things on Layer Cake Shop. The polish cookie cutter doesn't work so great, since I'm not good at all decorating cookies, but as a cutter it works fine ;)

The edible glitter is beautiful and the cupcake tins are lovely :)

I think I'm going to make a second order there, because I got everything very fast and I'm afraid of having problems again getting my stuff before the end of the year.

Rainbow wedding cake and cupcakes! The cake layers and cupcakes are pink, purple, and turquoise. All covered with marshmallow fondant. Maybe I'll get a picture from the wedding of the inside after it was cut!

I had some fun with color on this one....

aluminum, enamel paints, leather . layered together and mounted on a clip finding.
