Cozumel, June 2013. Sigma 17-70. Paradise Reef night dive. In two nights....I had the opportunity to photograph 6 different octopus. Sweet!
Yesterday I went with my mother-in-law (who is an member of the WREN Association) to the launch of the sixth and latest Type 45 Destroyer purchased by the Navy HMS Duncan. Despite being born and brought up in Govan I don't think I had ever been to a ship launch, and as this may be last, it was great to go along and see. We were actually too close to get a good ship shot and the light and shadow made it difficult to get a balanced shot of crowd and ship. However, I did get some pics to remember the day by. There must have been abut 10,000 people in the shipyard.

After observing this osprey's intense dive, it remained in this position quite some time, after surfacing. I began to think it broke a wing, since it seemed to be struggling to leave the water. The reason for the "stalled launch" follows in the next photograph.
