This young horse was in a field I passed on my Bike ride. He looked as if he wanted the latch on the gate to be opened.
This ammo box latch was found in a field of abandoned farm equipment near my sister's house on Redlands Mesa.
Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 14/09/32024 -- Fastenings .
When it is needed , turn to the craft room !! For the challenge I have borrowed one of my wife's storage places for her sewing bits and bobs -in this case her sewing basket has an interesting antique style latch fastener so it was my choice for the challenge this week and I would imagine if the latch was undone and we looked inside there would be some more fastenings inside . For instance there will probably be some buttons , poppers , hooks & eyes , magnetic snaps - and the list goes on .
Now looking at the basket itself , it is made to be looking like wicker work -

The latch to my back porch door which has withstood the weather for 161 Years and still functions ! Life was simple back in 1860
This is the latch on a mine cage, once used to lower miners down the shaft at the Orphan Girl mine in Butte, Montana.
