After blind-wedging the pivot pin into the door jam (right), the yew latch bar was secured with an oak dowel to provide a means of securing the doors

Old branches provide good food.

I remember going on a long road trip, parking and opening the boler to find that these cabinet latches hadn't held and all our dishes were broken on the floor. They will need replacing!

i'm told that this latch, which used to be on a door at a local inn, was used by general lafayette

Latch on a Steamer Trunk we have

hmm...

The trunk is old and has been painted and lined before. Latch areas are smooshed.
