The cut out for the passenger door latch had been poorly cut so I had to fill it, reshape it and paint it before installing the Ford latch. I had sourced some brand new Ford fixing screws but they were too short due to the thickness of the GRP. But I found some yellow passivated Torx screws on ebay that look professional. I also bought some matching yellow passivated bolts for the door crash protection bars fixing.
As the doors are only an inch thick and can't really latch the way a normal door does, I put up magnetic cabinet latches- the same ones you find in most kitchens. THis way I also didn't have to put up door stop (that thin strip that goes around the inside of the frame for the door to go against).
Note that one panel is folded flat against the other. This is why I used the piano hinge. The other nice part about that is that I didn't have to mortise the hinge plates into the doors and frame, which would have been a major pain.
taken with a borrowed Pentax K100D with some of my biggest glass: a Soligor 10-220mm 1:3.5f with a 2x japanese teleconverter of some sort. I love that setup even though my eyes aren't good enough to properly focus.

Well, you see, it's a latch...on a door, um, in the ground. Still not interesting? Would you believe it's a secret door and latch?
Today we visited Mindrum garden which was open to the public under the National Gardens Scheme. All takings are given to various charities.
