Deboxing LE Kristoff. First the front lid is removed, revealing the clear plastic lid underneath. It has a label and minimal decoration on the border similar to that of the outer lid, all printed in white. Then the plastic lid and rear cardboard cover are removed. The remaining cardboard backing is free standing, and has a scene of the frozen Arendelle forming the background behind the doll.

Kristoff in his summer outfit, as seen at the end of the Frozen animated feature film. Included is his mandolin, leather satchel and ice man medallion. He also has faux leather boots with fur trim, a welcome change from the usual molded plastic boots on male Disney Store dolls. He is #1627 of 3500, $119.95.

I got a bunch of newly released Frozen merchandise from the Disney Store today (March 2, 2015). They are the LE 17'' Anna, Elsa and Kristoff dolls, and the Frozen Tsum Tsum. I also picked up the pre-ordered NeverBeast movie. I will show the dolls boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed.

Kristoff 12'' doll

D23 Disney Store.

$16.95 US

Purchased August 11, 2013 at the D23 Expo.

Part of the Disney Classic Doll Collection.

First Look

Based on a character in the upcoming Disney animated movie, Frozen, which opens on November 27, 2013. Not yet available online or in regular Disney Stores.

Boxed and deboxed Anna, Elsa and Kristoff 17'' Limited Edition dolls, all released on March 3-4, 2015. In this case the two sets of dolls look pretty much identical, since there are no parts of their outfit that are really restricted or hidden in the packaging. However, the deboxed dolls are in more relaxed poses.

I got my spare Limited Edition Frozen Dolls today in mail, on Monday March 16, 2015. I will leave them boxed, except for briefly opening them to take photos and to inspect the dolls and their Certificates of Authenticity. The ones that I got at my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday March 3, I have already fully deboxed. My spare LE Kristoff has a Cart # of 00040, which means he is #40 of 3500! It is the lowest edition number of any of my LE 17'' dolls, except for the LE 100 Harrods dolls (which are numbered #39 for the Frozen and #32 for the Sleeping Beauty sets).

I've now taken my spare LE Frozen dolls out of the shipping cartons. I show them with their boxes closed, then opened up, and finally side by side with the corresponding deboxed dolls. The spare Anna has almost perfect hair, as opposed to my frizzy haired deboxed Anna. My spare Elsa has a slight crease in the front lid, right in the center of the top edge. She has hair that is not as even or natural looking as my deboxed Elsa. I think the boxed Elsa shows her outfit to better advantage, as the skirt is tacked to be wider than its natural circular, narrower form when it is freed from the packaging. Finally my spare Kristoff has uneven hair on the left side (his right), whereas my Kristoff has much better looking hair. Also, he looks much better outside of the cramped quarters of the box, where the top of his head is almost touching the top of the box, and when the front lid is on, the top of head is cut off from view.

My 2015 LE Frozen doll edition numbers (deboxed and boxed)

Anna (962 and 3656 of 5000)

Elsa (2942 and 932 of 5000)

Kristoff (1627 and 40 of 3500)

Deboxing LE Kristoff. First the front lid is removed, revealing the clear plastic lid underneath. It has a label and minimal decoration on the border similar to that of the outer lid, all printed in white. Then the plastic lid and rear cardboard cover are removed. The remaining cardboard backing is free standing, and has a scene of the frozen Arendelle forming the background behind the doll.

I bought the Frozen Castle in a local Disney Store on its release day, October 28, 2013. It is very impressive looking, half opened in its large carrying case. It has three stories, nine rooms, five sets of hinged doors, seven pieces of furniture, and five of character figures. The four humans all have movable arms and legs, and can free stand. Anna and Elsa even have cloth skirts. The castle opens up to be 24'' W x 21'' H x 7'' D, when fully closed it is only 12'' (if the side supports are taken off). It took over an hour to fully debox the castle, but it was lots of fun doing so, and enabled me to learn all the moving parts of the castle. The castle itself is very well built, and very sturdy. But in deboxing it, the original box is partially disassembled, so it may take a bit of effort to put it back in a state where it can be a carrying case for the castle again. Overall, I think it is worth its hefty retail price of $100.

The Frozen Sleigh Wind-Up Toy, which I bought at the Disney Store today, Monday January 5, 2015. It was released today along with many other Frozen merchandise. It is $6.95, which I think is a decent price for this toy. It also has a battery operated sound box, which plays a recorded conversation between Anna and Kristoff as they ride the sleigh. Olaf is hanging on to the back of the sleigh. The wind up mechanism enables the sleigh to move fairly rapidly on a hard flat surface. It is 4 1/2'' long.

Deboxing LE Kristoff. First the front lid is removed, revealing the clear plastic lid underneath. It has a label and minimal decoration on the border similar to that of the outer lid, all printed in white. Then the plastic lid and rear cardboard cover are removed, and the Certificate of Authenticity is placed in front of the doll. The remaining cardboard backing is free standing, and has a scene of the frozen Arendelle forming the background behind the doll.

***The doll on the right is wearing a handmade tutu.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: The lady on the left was my very first Elsa doll! Before I ever saw the movie Frozen, I was intrigued by Miss Elsa. Of course, that is not the least bit surprising being that I was always the kid that was obsessed with Disney dolls growing up, and stalked the new characters in stores well before I ever saw the films. I'll admit that back when Frozen merchandise first hit stores, I denied my interest in the dolls. I don't know why, but back then I always seemed to be resistant to the new dolls in stores (whether they were Bratz, Barbie, American Girl, Monster/Ever After High, etc). Of course within some time, even I couldn't pretend that I wasn't captivated by the dolls, even if I really wasn't concerned if I watched the movie or not. I especially had a fondness for the Disney Store's version of Elsa (it's kind of odd considering I usually don't gravitate towards blonde dolls). Were there more Disney Stores in my area, I probably would have gotten an Elsa doll long ago. But I'm not sorry that I waited so long, because the wait makes me appreciate my Elsa doll so much more. I saw the Frozen movie for the first time in 2015--my sister borrowed it from a friend at work. After that, I was even more interested in finding the dolls. My desire for Frozen dollies was somewhat satisfied when I found my Troll Wedding Kristoff and Anna dolls on sale at Wal-Mart in 2016...but I still really wanted Elsa. The gal in this picture was actually rescued from the Salvation Army in 2017. When I first walked into the toy section, I spotted her laying on top of a bunch of random toys. I guess some child pulled her out of the container of dolls and tossed her onto the heap of toy trucks and other random playsets. I felt like I had struck gold--Elsa was still wearing her skirt and everything! While I don't normally like molded/painted on doll clothes, it is convenient that they are always "wearing" some part of their original outfit (plus they are more likely to be wearing their fabric clothes because these dolls are harder to dress due to their molded/painted features). While this Elsa may not have been my "dream" doll, I love her just as much, if not more than I ever anticipated. I felt so sorry for her--being abandoned at the dirty Salvation Army is not a fate I'd wish on any doll. I had so much fun bringing Elsa back to life (her hair was actually still in it's original style, albeit it was very messy). While she might not be as impressive quality as other Elsa dolls who have fully removable clothing, I've come to embrace dolls with painted/molded features. A little extra love, and some handmade accessories really jazz them up. I'm so glad I rescued this doll, and that she is part of my collection. I'm pretty sure Anna is also happy to finally be with her sister. Speaking of sisters, for some reason, Colleen has a strong connection to this Elsa doll and is always having "conversations" with her. It all started the moment we found Elsa at the Salvation Army--Colleen kept reassuring her that we were taking her home, and that she'd get a nice bath!

Of course I have an immense soft spot for this Elsa doll in general...she was the first I ever had. That's why my heart went out to the second doll, on the right side of the photo. She was a gift, part of the enormous (both in size and generosity) "Mountains of Monsters Lot." My sister and I were given 166 dollies in March of 2023. They ranged in age, manufacturer, and condition. Elsa was rather beat up, considering she was not one of the oldest dollies. Her hair had been colored blue, and she was naked. Well, partially anyways...she does have that molded outfit. I looked forward to making her a tutu. I have quite a bit of fun these days with molded outfit clad dollies. They are fun to accessorize! She still has a tinge of blue in parts of her hair, but not enough to be subjected to any further stain removal treatment. Even if I get her original skirt, I'll always be able to tell her apart from my Salvation Army lady. Her little curly bang was cut off by someone. Honestly, I am not bothered by it since you can better appreciate her charming face.

FF tsum sets (in Olaf carrying bags), and other tsums in the wall display to the right of the registers. View from outside the store.

Got to my local Disney Store at 6:00 am and got inside right away. I was first in line. I fellow collector joined me a couple of minutes later. There were six waiting in line at 7 am, 25 at 8 am, 40 at 9 am, probably 50 at 10 am.

The store had 16 each of Limited Edition Frozen Fever Anna and Elsa 17'' dolls, and 18 of the DFDC Anna and Kristoff 12'' doll set. They told us the totals of the limited edition dolls when they gave out the line cards at about 9:40 am. There were two Anna/Kristoff sets left over at store opening at 10 am. It was also release day for the 10 Peter Pan mini tsum tsums, and the FF mini tsum tsum set (in an Olaf carrying case). It turned out that about 2 thirds of the people just wanted the tsum tsums. After the opening ceremony, we were divided into two lines. One was just for tsums. and the other was for the LE or Designer dolls (we could also get tsums). They had the Peter Pan tsums behind the counter, but the FF tsums were on the wall display to the right of the registers. I got the three dolls, all the Peter Pan tsums, and the FF tsum set.

All the Frozen Toys that were added to the website today were just check by me for availability, as of 8 PM PST on Monday March 17, 2014. Marked with a green check mark if it available (it let me add to my bag, and remained when I clicked on Begin Checkout). Marked with a red X are items that are currently sold out. Some of them have a Sold Out sign in place of the Add to Bag button. Others still have the Add to Bag button, but when you click on it, there are various messages that prevent you from checking out the item.

From the original 22 available at the beginning of the day, only 5 remain for sale: Anna plush doll, Anna Classic doll, Kristoff plush doll, Anna Disney Infinity figure and Olaf Hula figure.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Limited Edition Kristoff 18'' Doll has been completely deboxed. He posed standing, supported by the included doll stand. He can free stand, but he is much more stable on the stand. I left one hand in the pants pocket. I also left the tissue paper stuffing in the faux leather satchel, and left out the mandolin from these photos. He has cotton stuffing under the front of his shirt, to make him more bulky.

Anna and Kristoff have been fully deboxed. They are placed back on their display stand and are holding hands.

I deboxed the Troll Wedding Anna and Kristoff Doll Set in April 2016 (nine months ago), but I am finally getting around to now uploading detailed photos of them. Anna herself looks lovely, but I still think their costumes make them look cheap and silly. Also the troll wedding sequence was my least favorite part of Frozen. So this is my least favorite Designer Fairytale doll set.

I got them in store on their release day, November 3, 2015. They are #1079 of 6000.
