Knowing you are that much closer to the end, I guess if it's me, I too will live life more excitingly. Perhaps sleep less even. Afterall, death is a permanent sleep. But sadly youths like myself are guilty of wasting our time on the non-essential and even on sleep (too much that is). We really got to start living.

Rita Esterly, a practicing psychologist, at part two of her ‘Knowing Yourself’ discussion series, on March 6, 2014 at William Woods University’s Lead Program worked with volunteers Ashley Bauer and Mark Webb to illustrate principles concerning individual strengths and weaknesses determined by an evaluation these William Woods students took prior to the LEAD event on the 6th of March 2014.
These lousy photos were taken on a recent jaunt to an abandoned military base with a couple of good friends. I was thrilled to find my first bomb-proof toilet!
Is it just me or is the thought of bomb-proof toilet quite appealing? Well I was drawn to it...knowing that you could come to no harm while going about your daily...business.
I was, therefore, horrified to see that the bomb-proof toilet was just an illusion...false promises; there's nothing worse.
This elephant had the boring duty of carrying people all of thirty feet in a circle only to go back to have different peopel loaded on it's back and repeat. So around and around it goes. How boring. It's said that an elephant remembers every face they have ever seen. If that's true then this particular elephant must have an amazing memory. There are thousands of people everyday at the Renisance Fair! (I'm sorry it's a bit blurred. Could only catch him/her walking)
Knowing about Abdominoperineal resection of rectum with @http://docturs.com/dd/pg/groups/11173/abdominoperineal-resection-of-rectum/
The guy leaning against the car is still shaken from the fight.
I feel like the guy in the foreground is giving me this knowing look, as is to say, "yes, we have to get them both back into the car for another 500 miles".

knowing is
a numbing force
to get back home
you've got to go off course
of course, I say that as someone
in search of a just cause
just 'cause I'm aimless
doesn't mean I'm lost
and there's a cost to counting
when the bills on the windowsill
are mounting
and condensation creeps
tries to weep its way
from the frozen side
a steady diet of desire by design
and I still crave her more than ever
if I didn't, I couldn't
work so hard
to be together
and patience is a prayer
of the most holy kind
a virtue of the few
who it took
a foreign
heart
to find

Inspired by the creepy boat ride in the original Willy Wonka movie with Gene Wilder, and made for the current photo manipulation challenge in the Make New Mistakes Photo Group (www.flickr.com/groups/makenewmistakes/). Starter image from Nannyberries is here: www.flickr.com/photos/hirev/6119033614/
Creepy circus background from indigodeep, gummi bears from Jennistock, carousel frame from chamberstock, and orb from miyofox, all great Deviant Art artists.
Ticket, exit sign, glitter and gumballs from a digital scrap package purchased from Tangie Baxter. "See Living Curiosities" sign is a scan of a wooden sideshow sign I painted.
I used lots of layers, different blending modes, painted in shadows, and then flattened the image and ran Topaz 5, dynamic sunset.
Modified Vivitar IC-101 and old Konica film. Doubles project with Anna. She took the camera to California and shot the whole roll of film. I rewound it and took pictures in the UK. Some colour tweaking in Picasa ("I'm feeling lucky").

For people who do not believe in coincidence: these are details from photo's posted in the "Guess Where Utah" group, by two different people (right: Lil' Oss and left: me) not knowing each other. Pictures were posted almost at the same time. My picture was taken in September 2001 and Lil' Oss's in September 2010. Read the story in my comment:
Knowing my dad is there to protect me, to catch me, but giving me the chance to learn through my failures, encouraging me as I learn from each failure, instructing how to overcome the obstacles.

I obviously tweaked this photo, I was playing around and liked how it looked.
Fishing boat at the Ventura Harbor in Ventura, California

A recent image taken at a close family friend's wedding where I was asked to take the 'official pictures'.
This someting I thought long and hard about.
All the advice says "don't do it" - but I did with some extreme intrepidation and strong persuasion from our friends. You either sink or swim.
Well I'm still bobbing on the surface.
This has to be one of my favourite images from the whole day.
Knew it once I'd taken it.
Please view in the light box function.

... "In every bit of honest writing in the world there is a base theme. Try to understand men, if you understand each other you will be kind to each other. Knowing a man well never leads to hate and nearly always leads to love. There are shorter means, many of them. There is writing promoting social change, writing punishing injustice, writing in celebration of heroism, but always that base theme. Try to understand each other..."

blog.exvo.com/posts/knowing-product-demand-the-first-step...
One of the hardest, and at the same time, most critical factor of starting a business is to understand your customer's product demand. How can you tell if people are interested, and how can you distinguish casual interest from a genuine willingness to buy? Once you figure out how to do it, knowing customers' demand for the product is one of the most vital skills you will have as an entrepreneur.
Knowing what’s best for your office space is more difficult than it may first appear – after all, unless you are actively up on all the office interiors London has to offer, you’re going to feel somewhat lost in terms of knowing what the most effective colour schemes and designs are for your team and your brand. Getting the colour scheme right for your office can mean making a conscious choice between adhering to your brand or favourite colours and choosing those which are either inoffensive or inspiring – and, of course, the best colour scheme for you will be entirely dependent on what your business does, and how your team works.
Colours commonly used in office fit out and office refurbishment may vary, though with shifts towards the contemporary and away from stuffy cubicles in recent years, you can be assured that reliance upon dull greys and metallic colours of old are pretty much out of the window – unless, of course, they are part of your company branding. Many modern offices opt for bright, attractive colours that inspire strong emotions. This, however, may not necessarily be for you. If the idea of atomic tangerine or neon purple really turns your stomach, it may be time to consider going for something a little more neutral.
Choosing the right colour scheme does often mean borrowing a little bit of what is known as ‘colour theory’. In our office fit out projects, we aim to employ calm, soothing colours that lessen stress and help employees to stay on the ball. Big, brash colours such as deep reds, purples and oranges should always be avoided unless you need them as part of your company branding. Even then, we’d advise against splashing your walls in shocking magenta. We suggest that blues, greens and even whites be used liberally throughout office refurbishment, and even then not too over-zealously. While you may not be looking for a completely blank canvas, you can be both too minimal or too over-the-top. Choose colours that align with your brand, but aren’t too in-your-face.
From here, you’ll easily find the best colour scheme to complement your brand and your workplace. No two colour schemes are the same, meaning that if you are ever in project with GXI Group, we will ensure that we keep to your initial vision and make colour suggestions as and when needed. You’ll never know what looks good until you get one or two professional opinions on board!
