I didn’t know what I wanted to have Queasy Unikitty’s display be, only thing I could think of is low hanging fruit of the bathroom or kitchen. I went with the latter.

The fridge is heavy base on Moritz’s Leftover Fridge. But instead the leftover are green like Unikitty… and spilling on the floor… who left food in the blender?

I know it's one I've spotted before; the only one I know of locally, but the MK2 Astra is my favourite car from the 80s so this was a tremendous spot for me personally. I'm pleased it's lost the dished alloys and been replaced with some steelies.

All in all a lovely example that's not concourse, even if the modern plates are an acquired taste. Only 59k on this one as of last MOT.

You know you're in a bad economy when even the liquor stores are closing up.

Did you know?

These bizarre natural water features, hewn by centuries of water, mark the start of the Blyde River Canyon. Take the 700 metre walk to view these unusual water features.

Bourke's Luck Potholes are without doubt a major icon, but when thrown in together with the likes of the Three Rondawels, God's Window, the Blyde River Canyon and numerous magnificent waterfalls, one can become immune after a while.

If you can, begin your wander around Mpumalanga with Bourke's Luck Potholes, for they are without doubt incredible. Essentially they're the result of decades of swirling eddies of water where the Treur River meets the Blyde River, the tumult of which has caused extensive water erosion over time. The result is a series of cylindrical rock sculptures that look as though they would be more comfortable on the moon.

To see these geological wonders (it is no surprise to learn that they've made it onto Frommer's 500 places to take your kids before they grow up) that are an amazing array of white, yellow and dark brown eddies of colour because of the soil present in the water, you'll need to travel roughly 35 kilometres due north of Graskop on the R532.

They are on the Panorama Route and are one of the major tourist attractions in South Africa, so best get there ahead of the bus tours. A series of metal bridges take you right above them, if photographs are a high priority, whilst walkways around the ridges allow you various angles and viewpoints from which to take your snaps.

Their strange name, in case you were wondering, comes from the gold digger, Tom Burke, who staked a nearby claim.

I know I am biased because he's my son... but he's just too gorgeous this boy... hehe His mother's genes are definitely stronger than mine! :)

I'll be back to my "My Melbourne" series soon... just need to get out there and take more shots!

I know it's a bit soppy giving cars names, or maybe it's not because Jojo does. Indeed if I give my sex toys names like my pal Pinky why not turn my attention to my little petrol run-round. Besides giving my Ford Fiesta a girl's name takes away some of that macho stuff people get from having a speed wagon. No it's no 'hot rod' and someone I know even said they really hated it's soft shade of green but I felt it was perfect for this car giving it that 'Jojo Wow Factor' lol. Actually when I bought Penelope I had a choice of two cars and despite the other one being the same age and a thousand pounds cheaper I didn't really fancy it as it was a cold very masculine blue and I bought green out of choice. Yes as the cost suggests this was better the up-market Titanium and with a titty name like that how could I not have her as a bosom pal. Another good thing is the mirrors fold in when I lock her which is ideal for me as I'm one of those annoying people who goes off forever worrying that they haven't locked their car and needing to check it again. Of course once I'm a big porn star I can have a young slick black-haired leather clad chauffer in a peaked cap called Commando to run me back and forth to the airport for my next film date! The story doesn't end there for by coincidence even though the garage I bought Penelope from is out of town in Penkridge some people I know who live nearby bought the other one the blue car which is quite remarkable isn't it.

Anyone know the name of this bird?

After lunch we were on a march to check out two features of note in Cadereyta.

Cadereyta has two splendid botanical gardens specializing in care and reproduction of precious species of cactaceae and shrubs of the region's semi-arid climate.

They are the best of their kind in the Americas. First is the Quinta Fernando Schmoll. In addition to Mexican species, it includes succulents and aloe vera from Africa.

We walked right past the Schmoll without recognizing the entrance (trouble with out limited Spanish in taking direction).

A few steps from the Schmoll is the Regional Botanical Garden, with magueyes, biznagas, organs, cardones, yuccas and other plants.

What? A few steps? We walked fast paced for 30 minutes - guess they were meaning "take a taxi" minutes. We passed some creatures on the walk.

While in Wales I was using my new iPhone 8 plus to take a few photo's.. without realising it I must have set the phone to LIVE mode.. Later, playing about with it I realised the phone could make GIFs.. Unfortunately Flickr doesn't really do GIFs, but I can put the GIF in the comment box. Also, opening up the still photo at large size, views the GIF.

Shame Flickr doesn't do GIFs, I quite like the idea of still photo's with a little bit of motion.. I know, not everyone agrees :-)

Bad things happen to the people you love,

And you find yourself praying up to heaven above,

But honestly I've never had much sympathy,

Cause those bad things, I always saw them coming for me.

Don't know why I hadn't tried this before, but the other day I put the mp-e65 on two sets of extension tubes and cackled maniacally as lightning clashed outside. This is the tip of a ballpoint pen, uncropped. You can see the thickness of ink.

Also, if anybody thinks this doesn't belong in poor man's macro let me know. I feel like the group is based more around trying new techniques than about actual investment in photography equipment but if that's not the case I'll remove it.

I know its not my best, but I needed a change up in my stream without allowing it to get too repetitive! This was taken when i was visiting my family up in Scarborough In May last year... I cant wait to get back up there again this year for some more shots... Considering driving up to have more mobility when i am there too...

MORETON BAY

==========================================================================

Moreton Bay was formed roughly 6000 years ago as the sea level rose and inundated what was then the floodplains of the Brisbane River.

Moreton Bay (Aboriginal name - Quandamooka) and its islands were inhabited by Aboriginal tribes. The name Morton's Bay was given by Captain Cook when he passed the area on 15 May 1770, honouring Lord Morton, president of the Royal Society.

The spelling Moreton was an error in the first published account of Cook's voyage (Hawkesworth's Voyages). Cook gave the name only to the bight formed by the northern end of Stradbroke Island (in 1770, there was only one island) and the eastern side of Moreton Island. He was unaware of the South Passage (as it's now called) between the two islands, and did not sail into what is the present Moreton Bay.

You know that it was definitely by design to have the colors of the castle stay in complete contrast of the color of Main Street. They don't want their precious icon getting lost in that wide view of the area.

You know the scene in Harry Potter when he received an avalanche of invites from Hogworts? Well, that has been me and the cards from Specsavers about an overdue eyetest.

So, along with an emergency dental appointment, I took most of Monday off, with Jools dropping me off midway between St Maggies and Dover, so I could safely walk into town, as no roads or lanes have pavements, so this being the only safe way.

I had time, so once at the cliffs, I sat on a bench and looked at the comings and goings, and a guy base-jumping off the cliff. No idea if he survived, but his partner filmed the leap.

He had a go-pro on his helmet, which made me think he was a cyclist at first, and I was going to tell him off for cycling along the cliffs.

There we no screams of despair after he jumped, so he must have survived. A Google search revealed another base jumper only just survived after his chute failed in 2018, falling to the beach in St Maggies.

I walked on, down into Langdon Hole, with clouds of Chalkhills scattering from each footfall. And there was me saying at the weekend I hadn't seen any.

Down below in the harbour, ferries came and went, and line of cars and motorhomes lined up to check in and board. No queues for freight.

And to the north, a small cruise ships approaches the harbour to dock at the cruise terminal and load up with a fresh set of passengers.

I reach the end of the Cliff Road and climb the path towards the NT building, then turn left along the path before taking the steep path down towards Eastcliff and Athol Terrace.

It is easier going down.

Just.

Under Jubilee Way and out of what little breeze there was, it was hot. I had 45 minutes to get to the opticians.

I walked along Eastcliff, past the multi-coloured houses cowering under the cliffs, along Townwall Street before cutting through the St James Development. I can report that the site of the old leisure centre looks like it is going to be another car park.

As is the site of the old Co-Op, which was the site of an indoor craft market, but that too now has been razed and looked like being a car park too.

The car parks we already have are not full, as the council lets stuff being built in Whitfield.

I walk down Castle Street, then along Biggen Street to the optician, where they get me in early.

And then the blinding machine broke, and it took half an hour to fix, by which time my slot had closed.

Can you come back another time?

Whaaa?

I now had two hours to kill before my dental appointment, so I went for lunch, had a cheese toastie at a place looking out onto the Market Square, where they have repaved it, taken down the large TV stand, the TV went years ago, and the fountain. We will now have large silver hoops.

You know when that time comes in a childs life, when choosing their own clothes, then getting undressed and then re dressed a milion times a day gets to an obsession, well thats where we are in her life right now and lets just say we have seen our fare share of mis matched items lately!!

(and yeh the boots are on the wrong feet too!!)

Don't know how this little fellow got up to this feeder. Four feet off the ground with a tall metal stand. Very ingenious...these meeces! Shot this one through the kitchen window while having breakfast (me - not the mouse; well the mouse was too, obviously!!!) Anyway I hope you enjoy....just a bit of fun.

My friends know that I enjoy looking for mysterious giant concrete arrows that were used to guide early air mail pilots. See my arrow album for photos and information. So, when I heard about mysterious giant concrete X's, or crosses, in the Arizona desert I had to see one for myself.

In the 1960's the United States launched 144 Corona cold war spy satellites. They would take photos then jettison the film which would fall to earth to be caught in mid-air by aircraft. It didn't always work.

The cameras needed to be calibrated by focusing on fixed points, so a system of giant concrete crosses was placed at precise points in the Arizona desert. The crosses were arranged in a huge grid and are only visible if you walk right up to them, or from above. Drone photos would have been better, but I had two problems - no drone and power lines.

The Corona project ended in 1972 and many of the crosses were demolished. But if you want to find them there are still a few in the Casa Grande desert.

I think all of you guyz know what happened in Japan. It happened a while now (when I was in Costa Rica), but I didn't want to act like nothing happened because it does. I felt it wasn't too late, because the disaster and wasted lives are still there. In this moment, people are still searching for their family, friends...someone.

It's in moments like this I realize how much lucky I am to have everything I have. House, clothes, money...and I'm not talking about material stuff. I talk about my family, friends, and alos you guyz. Healthy and alive. Next time you're complaning about your little problems, just think about what happened in Japan, or Haiti. Right, we ar elcuky guyz and we have to appreciate what we have...and what we don't.

I know you

Haven't made

Your mind up yet

But I would never

Do you wrong

I've known it

From the moment

That we met

No doubt in my mind

Where you belong

I'd go hungry

I'd go black and blue

I'd go crawling

Down the avenue

No, there's nothing

That I wouldn't do

To make you feel my love

I know I have better photos of the white spotted boxfish and I have posted several here on flickr. But this one is rather special.

All juvenile white spotted boxfish are black and white and adult females have the same colours as juveniles. But adult males are more colourful - they have white spots on black on their backs but elsewhere are blue and yellow.

So the one above is a juvenile starting to change to adult male colouration - or it could even be a female changing to a male. A male boxfish has a harem of several females and it is thought that when the male dies then one of the females ( normally the largest ) will become a male.

I haven't found another photos on flickr or .the internet showing the transition colour stage.

I know there's a neck seam, which I only noticed later, but I still love this image and it is one of my favourites. When I looked at it by the first time, I immediately decided to give her a suitable back-story and write about her, which is something I have never done with previous characters. She deserves so.

I know... I clipped the wing tips (SIGH ) but I just loved the wing position like it was a glamorous hood and how she was lit up by the very early sunlight. The shape of the fish almost mimmicks her shape

I know there have been many Alice in Wonderland custom Blythes, and even though I normally don't do themed dolls as commissions, I was requested to create this girl for a dear friend and I couldn't resist; so here is my interpretation of the character.

I was asked to make her close to the Disney version. Her dress was provided by her mom and she was a lot of fun to create a photograph! Alice is a curious girl with a vivid imagination, she loves to read and hang out around trees. She will soon be traveling to Malaysia and hopefully won't be late for tea time! I hope you love her! 💛💙

No one knows when the rain will start & when that will be finished. Its the monsoon here. But I can not be stopped. I will have my journey & adventures with my umbrella of the clouds.

She knows..

The words spew from your lips as the pit in her stomach screams at her from the depths below..

Why do they not see her..

Why do they not hear her..

And why do they think she's blind..

They hide behind the boxes from which they assume are unknown..

Their actions scream loudly as if they're in their own little world..

All the while she stands by with a smile on her face as the walls rise and the sounds of her heart breaking can be heard amongst the whispers..

Just tell her..

She already knows..

We have a Know Nothing president with a Know Nothing staff.

To say Portland has quite a few bicyclists is an understatement. I don’t know the exact percentage but it would be fair to guess there is probably a cyclist for every person owning a camera of some sort (the gross amount of Portland photographers is another story).

Most of them know their road rights and will prove it if you happen to cut them off. As you walk the streets of Portland, depending on how long you roam, you will probably hear a cyclist or two cursing a motorist for infringing on their space. The screaming and yelling has become so common I don’t notice it anymore. It’s like listening to the adults on a Charlie Brown cartoon: all I hear is “wah waaah wah waaah wah waaaahhhh.”

I can see their point, though. After all, it is common knowledge there have been quite a few deaths because of motorists not paying attention to the cycle lanes. There are “ghost bikes” in place representing a person who was killed at that particular spot. Cyclists are constantly on guard to make sure they are seen so they don’t become a victim themselves. I am sympathetic to their plight. I guess I would be even more sympathetic if a lot of those same cyclists obeyed all of the rules of the road, too.

I can’t tell you how many close calls I’ve had with cyclists who seem to think the “bicycles yield to pedestrians” signs are merely for decoration. Just at Portland’s Waterfront Park alone most of the cyclists go way too fast, weaving in and around pedestrians even though there are signs in place requiring all cyclists to slow down. A sign was posted in a construction zone requiring all cyclists to “Walk Their Bikes” because the walkway had been narrowed due to the construction fence. I didn’t see a single cyclist walk their bike. They road through as if the walkway was at it’s original width. Also, I’ve noticed many cyclists like to run red lights and stop signs. A cyclist kicked my wife’s bumper at a 4-way stop because he felt the front of her car was penetrating his crossing lane. Turns out it was her turn to go anyway because he failed to stop (as the law requires) at his stop sign, first.

I believe this picture tells it like it is. They know the cycling laws that protect them! They may not care what the law requires of them but they certainly care what the law requires of YOU. Some of them would probably run you over if you happened to wander into their cycling lane. If not, they would at least brush your shoulder as they passed by to let you know they weren’t happy with you.

Just sayin’. =)

A Double Play...for Doubleday?

Hah, well if not for him...for me at least. To those that are even casual students of our National Pastime will know the name Abner Doubleday and the town of Cooperstown. The latter is a quaint upstate New York village beside Otsego Lake that is home of the Baseball Hall of fame. The former is the alleged inventor of the game of baseball in that very town in 1839, hence the choice to locate the hall of fame here in 1937. And while most historians believe the Mills Commision's assertions about Doubleday and Cooperstown are nothing but fiction, the legend still sticks here.

But to railfans there is more than just baseball in Cooperstown. The Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley operates a heritage railroad and museum along the historic line of the same name first opened in 1869. The original road came under D&H ownership in 1903 and was operated as branch of that Class 1 for 67 years. The branch was sold to the Delaware Otsego Corp in 1970 and freight trains continued to operate into the mid 1980s along with excursion trains. The last freight ran in 1987 and the line was completely moribund until being sold to the Leatherstocking Chapter of the NRHS in 1996. Incidentally, despite selling the branch the Delaware Otsego Corp (parent company of the NYS&W) retained ownership of the passenger depot in Cooperstown where they still maintain their corporate headquarters despite having no rail operations in town.

Despite having been in existence as a tourist railroad for more than two decades I'd never visited the operation. But in a twist of good fortune I made a totally unplanned trip to Binghamton chasing an NS train on the old D&H the day prior to this photo. While out that evening with an old railroader/railfan friend he told me that the CACV just happened to be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the opening of their railroad the very next day.

Based out of the small town of Milford south of Cooperstown they had a full weekend of special events and extra trains. The highlight of the event was the first steam locomotive to traverse these rails since the 1970s and included a bit of rare mileage almost into downtown Cooperstown.

Viscose Company #6 is an 0-4-0 saddle tank loco built by Baldwin in 1924. Originally assigned to the American Viscose Company plant in Roanoke, VA she was sold for scrap in the early 1960s. Never cut up she languished for decades in the yard of Gem City Iron & Metal Company in Pulaski, VA. Purchased by Scott Symans of Dunkirk, NY in 2004 and restored over the next three years she now travels by truck to shortlines and tourist railroads all over the country that do not have steam locomotives of their own.

She weighs 60,000 lbs and has a 17,360 lb tractive effort.

Here she is just starting to pull south from her photo op at the Cooperstown village welcome sign just north of here at Chestnut St. / Route 28 crossing.. This little bit is rare mileage as the normal northern limits of CACV operations is the runaround track a half mile south of this point and this crossing is clearly out of service and marked exempt.

So there you have it...a double hit of rare mileage and rare steam...and all totally unplanned!

I know... can ya just stand how cute he is!! He's a new client that I start watching this wednesday while his peeps are at work. He's 10 weeks old right now, but you'll see him grow over the next year. =))

Looks better if you hit "L".

I know Jelena for a while already and kept staring at her beautiful face whenever I met her - now we finally managed to go for a photoshooting that I asked her for and I'm so in love with the results.

We went to Backdrop City and used an old mortuary for the shooting.

All images are slightly edited - hope you don't think it's to much. Leave your comments or just your compliments for this gorgeous model!

If you don't know its meaning then no problem. The word beauty simply means " Neelum valley".After seeing this picture you won't be able to disagree with me too.the picture depicts a beautiful scene long the bank of river Neelum near Taobut area. The snow tops overlooks Gurez Valley on the other side.
