I know most of you won't see this photo because of Flickrs contacts bug, but I still wanted to post it because it's one of my favorites. Sure it's setup, but this was an out take of another shot.

Sometimes the outtakes are better.

BLOG

So yesterday we had to head down to UCLA medical center (yes, where Britney Spears went) to have something done. I was with the boys in the waiting area, next to this long hall, and a woman with young daughter go walking by... just giggling and having fun. Then the dad, who seemed quite a bit older, 5'5", dark leather jacket, dark complexion, on his cell phone with VERY projecting voice, "OKAY... YES, THEN CALL ME, OKAY..."

Looks over at me, I *head nod*

They come back down the hall together a couple minutes later. Mom goes into an office, leaving dad and daughter alone.

"Dad, lets play Red Light, Green Light".

"How is that played, sweetheart?" (she tells him)

.

.

.

"A RED Light... now it's a GREEN light!"

"Red light again, okay GREEN LIGHT!"

Almost shouting, but not really. Just a loud, projecting voice.

I see our 8 year old playing along with him, starting and stopping on his command.

About 20' away I say to him, "who doesnt' like a good game of red light, green light?"

"YES, THEY ALLLL LIKE IT". Not yelling, but not using his 'hospital voice' either. Smiling back at me, noticing my son playing along.

Nurse walks by, turns and looks at the man, and keeps going. The nurse then goes to the counter around the corner (close to where I'm standing) and whispers something about the guy in the leather jacket.

They continue Red Light, Green Light in the hall. Eventually the mom comes out, and then head to the elevator and leave.

10 minutes later, non chalant, I go to the counter and ask the nurse,

"So, who did the nurse say that guy in the leather coat was?"

"Oh, that's Al Pacino"

The girl was his daughter, and the mom was his... ladyfriend of many years, Beverly D'Angelo - Mrs. Griswold of Vacation fame.

Bottom line - Caiden gets to tell his friends years from now, that he got to play Red Light, Green light with Al Pacino

I know some of you out there have been just dying to watch me get dressed, and since I'm a girl that aims to please (and an exhibitionist to boot!), here you go!

:

Please go to my page to see the rest of me "Getting Dressed".

:

I took about 90 photos to do this and cut it down to 30, but that was too many photos to stitch together, so I edited them down to the 12 you see here; 3 sets of 4 photos stiched together. I also stitched the 3 rows together top to bottom (that's why you see them labeled top row, middle row, etc.), but that would have made the individual photos too small.

This was alot of fun to do! Hope you like it, and I'll be looking forward to all your gracious comments!

I walked the path that I felt would take me there

It was long and, at times, seemed as if I wouldn't arrive

But, I think I may be there...

Thank you flickr!

Thank you so very much.

Thank you for giving me the reason and know-how to create compelling pictures. High five. Sloppy gross tongue kiss. Slap on the ass. To the entire fucking website. That includes explore, yahoo, the fuckers who made the site, and even you. Yeah, you reading this shit. YOU are a superhero for sitting through my shit. I commend you.

Well, that said, not that this picture here is my magnum opus by any means. It’s just me lying on my fucking bed. But in the years I have spent on here, I have gone from taking pictures of flowers to producing what I think are some bang ass cool pics.

"pimp, shut up, what is your point you asshole"

Damn, okay. The reason I’m saying this is that over the weekend I was out wine tasting in a very touristy part of California. The Napa valley.

And do you know how many people I saw standing up proper, back straight, modestly smiling all so very perfect conventional for every picture they took with their digital cameras? EVERYONE!

Word to the wise: THIS IS B O R I N G!

Standing by “Welcome to Napa” signs with their stupid cameras just smiling like a bunch of jerkoffs.

Standing in front of a winery with the mom and kids holding a waiting smile with daddy douchebag flagging down another banal family to take their shot. Just so they could return the B O R I N G favor.

YAWNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Think outside the box people. Go lay down in the street or something. Go steal some grapes from the vineyard and smash them on your spare t-shirt and get dirty. Act drunk or just fucking get drunk and run around the valley and roll down the hill and take a picture of that.

ANYTHING BUT STANDING IN FRONT OF THAT DAMN SIGN SMILING LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF THE PIMP JUST STOP!

Sadly.

I think I used to be the smiling family idiot too. I think. Kind of.

I still do occasionally. But you know my motto. Mix it up. Try something new. Don’t stick to what’s comfortable. Or at least I try to uphold this brainchild idea of mine.

I mean look at what flickr did for me? I’ve come such a long way that I have this textured ugly picture of me laying in my bed. At least I’m not smiling in front of a winery.

Right?

I know it's a rubbish shot but WOW...!! It's taken three weeks to get a shot of a youngster. Taken in near darkness, hand held from miles away so I'm chuffed you can actually see what it is.

And today, the Somerset Wildlife Trust have 'gone public' with the story. Another fantastic first for the Somerset levels.

I know these might not look like spectacular pictures, but they’re incredibly difficult to take. Ever heard the expression “quick as lightning”? So in the same split-second, you have to spot the lightning bolt in a sea of black clouds from 400 km above, aim at this minuscule white dot with your viewfinder and a big 800mm lens, focus (in the dark), and shoot. Needless to say this is impossible unless you figure out another technique… Oh well, maybe looking at the thunder striking the planet from above the massive night clouds doesn’t impress you, but I find it excessively beautiful and menacing, like swimming in deep dark waters at night and wondering what’s below you… Huge respect to Andreas Mogensen who only spent eight days on the ISS but still managed to capture a lightning strike and an even more elusive blue jet erupting upwards from it. His photo (well it was a video still actually) encouraged the "space storm hunter" ASIM facility that is now outside the Columbus module. It is purpose-built to take pictures like this, but they are not so beautiful as they use different wavelengths that are much more interesting and useful to scientists. Also it takes 720 pictures of our planet a minute... continuously, how can we compete with that? Come to think of it, Andreas must be an extremely lucky guy! ;) ASIM is revealing things nobody knew about thunderstorms, explaining new phenomena and discovering new ways of how lightning is interacting with our atmosphere and influencing our climate! www.esa.int/asim

I know, I know, I see mushrooms and I immediately think of fairy houses.

Actually, doesn't every one!!!

We've been having an Indian Summer and yesterday was one of those divine days that was picture perfect in every sense.

Having had the first crop of mushrooms on our lawn last week, I knew if I poked around in my fave forest I was bound to unearth some more.

The forest, despite recently being thinned out, still has a very dense tree canopy and its like being in a dark green tunnel with the occasional splashes of sunlight, just perfect for fairy houses to spring up.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this log, covered in all kinds of mushrooms and splashed with sun light (I've put the image in my comments).

I had a jolly good scamper round the log, camera clicking away until I suddenly remembered I am now shooting in raw and I didn't bring my spare memory cards.

This is where I have seen the benefits of shooting in raw because I have photographed in this particular spot many, many times and always been disappointed with the results.

Oh the joy of finding a tool on one's camera that really does the job!!

Don't wanna know who you really are

Don't wanna know what you want, what you're begging for

The pheromones eating through your blood

Break down, break down

This was a big nostalgia kick for me! Now, I know that this Skipper is usually the least favourite of collectors, but she was my very first Skipper doll as a kid, so it’s great having her in my collection again. So here is Super-Teen Skipper, made in 1978, sold from 1979 … She of course was a little older in appearance than the first vintage Skipper, and the peaches n’ cream skintone and the toothy grin was supposed to look more related to Superstar Barbie and her ilk. I managed to get her NRFB, so she comes with all her accessories, including that cool skateboard that works and that she can actually spin around in! (Though I even wondered why she would need to do that on a skateboard even back when I was a kid! LOL) I must say that this gal is much prettier than the one I had back then, and I love her softer asymmetrical bangs that are only on one side of her head. (It may be a factory error as I distinctly remember mine had those bangs all the way around the front.)

I remember also wanting her first boyfriend Scott back then, who came out a year later, but he was impossible to find for me, so I finally got him NRFB too! Dig that HUGE afro! LOL … Again, most collectors think he is quite odd, but I love his looks as they are very much of his time… (I knew an Italian boy at school back in 1980 with a very similar huge curly hairdo… we used to call him ‘Fuzzy!’ LOL) and I love that he can actually stand on those roller-skates that really work! I also love the fact that he was basically made from the Jimmy Osmond body mould, hence the one bent arm… and I love that he had a unique face mould that Mattel only used this once. (Or did they? Does anyone know? My collector books and websites say no.) He looks a little like he could be ‘Sport n’ Shave Ken’s little brother, IMO! I may do another pic where they are in their dressed-up ‘date’ looks and Sport N’ Shave Ken can be their chaperone!

Grundy- Solomon Grundy born on a Monday!

Klaus- We all know the rhyme, you undead abomination!

*Snowman freezes Grundy's arm and smashes it*

Grundy- Ow! Why you hurt Grundy? Make Grundy mad!

Klaus- Ah. Lester, you have to activate the Cloudburst stat!

Lester- Me? Why?

Klaus- Because I'm running from an undead zombie, Cypher's fighting a talking gorilla and the rest of our group is stuck in a nightmarish tea party!

Lester- ... I get your point.

Klaus- Good la-Aaargh!

*Grundy grabs Snowman's legs and starts flailing him about*

Grundy- Grundy smash!

*Lester runs to the Cloudburst and, realising he has no clue what to do, he calls Klaus*

Lester- Uh, Kristen? What button do I press?

Klaus- *over comms* I'm a bit occupied at the moment!

Grundy- Haha! Grundy crush Frosty Man!

Lester- Ok then Lester. So you're on your own. Big deal. You can still do this.

=======

Cypher- *You have a magnificent hide. I look forward to mounting your head on my wall*

Grodd- Savage! You are a filthy, insignificant speck! I, on the other hand, am Grodd

Cypher- *You're also as unintelligent as you are hairy.*

Grodd- And just how, pray tell, is that the case?

Cypher- *You're ignoring the floating, empowered exterminator behind you.*

Otis- Boo.

*A massive ring construct sends Grodd flying off into the sky*

Batman- Cypher, where are the others?

Cypher- *I last saw The Electrocutioner heading towards the central belltower. The Snowman on the other hand was being pursued by the zombie*

Gaige- Huh?

Batman- Electrocutioner's found the Cloudburst and Snowman's fighting Grundy.

Gaige- Ah.

Cypher- *Learn sign language. It's a valuable skill*

========

Computer- Before activating the dispersal system, please first remove the previous sample.

*Lester takes the fear gas capsule out of the Cloudburst*

Computer- Now please insert the sample into the port bellow.

Lester- Simple enough.

*Lester plugs the antidote into the Cloudburst*

Computer- Thank you. Beginning final preparations in Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. F-

*The countdown stops, Electrocutioner turns around to see the cables slashed. Before he can react, a scythe goes through his chest*

Crane- You just couldn't leave enough alone could you? You dared to presume that I would leave this device, this Magnum Opus of mine, unguarded?

Lester- ... I know, I was being stupid...

Crane- It goes beyond stupidity Mr Butchinsky. It's fear. It all comes back to fear. In your haste to activate the device you failed to mind your surroundings. You feared you would be too late to stop me. And, as it turns out, you were right. Everyone tries to avoid facing their fears at one point or another but you can't run forever. We all have to face that final fear. The fear, of death. Such a shame that you should die here, sacrificing yourself when you needn't have had to. Now you'll always be remembered by those who knew you as just that. A failure.

Lester- *cough* You really like talking, yes? Well, you're wrong. I'm not a failure...

*Lester charges his gloves, and grabs a hold of the Cloudburst, charging it up*

Lester- I'm a Misfit.

Computer- -ive.

Crane- No.

Computer- Four.

No... no no no no no! No!

Computer- Two. One. Cloudburst activated.

Crane- ... No.

*The orange clouds burn away, revealing, at long last, the beautiful, blue sky. All around Gotham people start recovering from their hallucinations and walk outside to rejoice and bask in the sunlight*

Miranda- Did... did we do it?

Drury- Yes. Yes we did! C'mere!

*Drury and Miranda kiss*

Gar- Gross.

Floyd- Right. I'm off. I expect my check in the mail.

Spider- I better go too. Share a cab?

Floyd- Ha. "Share"

Gaige- How's about a drink, Anatoli? I've saved some Vodka in cas-

Anatoli- Wait. Where's Lester?

*The group run to the Belltower, Lester in a puddle of his own blood, Scarecrow, on the ground, in shock at what has just transpired*

Crane- Defeated... by an idiot... A pack of idiots... I was... I was so careful

Anatoli- Get out of the way. Lester

Lester-... Hello. Comrade. I'm a little worse for wear... sorry.

Anatoli- Forget about it. Stay with us. Klaus will be here soon, he can patch you up.

Lester- No.

Miranda Lester ... We can still get to the pit, there must be some way to-

Lester- You misunderstand... *cough* I don't need to live. I've died before... I can do it again...

Anatoli- Don't be stupid. What about Uglich, hmm?

Lester- Who needs Uglich when... when you have this. Just look at the sky, Anatoli. Look at this place. I never realised how beautiful it all-

Anatoli- Lester! Lester! ...

Drury- Anatoli, I'm sorry, I didn't realise the two of you were close.

Anatoli- That's the thing Mr Mayor. I barely knew him at all. It's just... I broke my promise.

It gets harder everyday but I can't seem to shake the pain

I'm trying to find the words to say, please stay

It's written all over my face

I can't function the same when you're not here

I'm calling your name and no one's there

And I hope one day you'll see nobody has it easy

I still can't believe you found somebody new

But I wish you the best, I guess

'Cause everybody knows that nobody really knows

How to make it work or how to ease the hurt

We've heard it all before everybody knows just how to make it right

I wish we gave it one more try, one more try, one more try

'Cause everybody knows but nobody really knows

I don't care what the people say, they're probably lonely anyway

Baby don't fill up your head with he said, she said

It seems like you just don't know, don't know

The radio's on, you tuning me out

I'm trying to speak, you're turning me down

And I hope one day you'll see, nobody has it easy

I still can't believe you found somebody new

But I wish you the best, I guess

'Cause everybody knows that nobody really knows

How to make it work or how to ease the hurt

We've heard it all before everybody knows just how to make it right

I wish we gave it one more try, one more try, one more try, one more try

'Cause everybody knows but nobody really knows

Oh, I wish you'd understand

Oh, just an ordinary man

Wish that we had known

Everybody knows but nobody really knows

And I know one day you'll see nobody has it easy

I still can't believe you found somebody knew

I wish you the best, I guess

'Cause everybody knows that nobody really knows

How to make it work or how to ease the hurt

We've heard it all before everybody knows just how to make it right

I wish we gave it one more try, one more try, one more try, one more try

'Cause everybody knows but nobody really knows

Nobody really knows, nobody knows.

Everybody knows

I know, I know this is only three months and 70 followers late. But it's been a busy three months and I'm only just now finding time for this (and at this rate, I'll be doing the 400 follower celebration next week). Seriously guys, stop liking all of my stuff and following my stream! I can't keep up! :P

Nah, I'm kidding. You guys are great. I really can't believe I've almost hit 400 followers after such a humble start only two years ago. I never thought that so many people would know the name of Onuku.

So, now that I'm getting back into this, I'd better start out with a new Top Faved since the numbers have changed a lot since the last. Virse is still on top, but many of my newer MOCs have gotten up there as well. Sadly, Onuku the Cu-Matoran has fallen to sixth... maybe it's time to try revamping him.

1. Ketar Revamp / Bionifight Virse

2. G2 Lesovikk

3. Turaga Onewa Revamp

I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise

I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

Oh yeah

If you think that I don't know about the little tricks you've played

And never see you when deliberately you put things in my way

Well, here's a poke at you

You're gonna choke on it too

You're gonna lose that smile

Beacuse all the while

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

Oh yeah

You took advantage of my trust in you when I was so far away

I saw you holding lots of other guys and now you've got the nerve to say

That you still want me

Well, that's as may be

But you gotta stand trial

Because all the while

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

Oh yeah

I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise

I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

Oh yeah

The Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal are mine to see on clear days

You thought that I would need a crystal ball to see right through the haze

Well, here's a poke at you

You're gonna choke on it too

You're gonna lose that smile

Beacuse all the while

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

and miles and miles and miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

THE WHO

I know, I know, Kew has been photographed 'to death' and these aren't the most original view points/compositions, but you have to admit there are some stunning buildings there. Here they are bathed in autumn light. Enjoy

"In order that you know what happens to our soul when man dies, I will tell you about the journey that the soul takes immediately after death, according to the tradition of the Orthodox Church." The journey of the soul after death

WHAT HAPPENS THE FIRST DAY AFTER THE DEATH *

From the moment of our death until 40 days later - when the individual judgment of the soul occurs and God decides where we will go, in good or bad places, until the Last Judgment - there is a transition time, both for the just and for sinners.

When a person dies and his soul is about to leave, there are many demons that present themselves before him as the number of sins he has had; in the same way, a number of saints appear, according to the number of good deeds he has done in his life. This is what it tells us s. Efreim the Syrian.

And at that moment there is a great "battle". The angels of God fight with demons on the soul, because the latter say it is theirs, that is, it has more sins, while the angels say it has more good deeds. And there is a great battle on the soul and right now the soul is afraid of getting out of its body. His language is linked to seeing all these things. He / she sees many things then, but can not describe them.

A week before he rested in the Lord, Father Eutimio of the Holy Monastery of Agapia Veche saw how the angels were fighting the demons above his soul and exclaimed: "See how they are fighting! The angels of God wear garlands of gold on their heads and they are striking the demons, look how they are running away! "This father knew the time of his death a week before resting, since he was a man chosen by God, as the nuns said. But not everyone can see these mysteries and is able to tell it to others; most people see them but can not talk about it.

At the time of death, the angel we have from our baptism comes with a lot of authority and everyone gets aside. The angel we have from Holy Baptism has a lot of authority. Remember, when also of your angel and of: "Holy angel, guardian of my life, pray the Lord Jesus Christ for me, the sinner!"

Because this angel not only protects us now, but also us at the moment of our death. Travel with us through the toll booths, up to 40 days; and we have it from our divine baptism as a great protector. If it were not for him, the devil would do with us whatever he would like.

So the angel comes and says, "Come on, demons, I know the life of this soul, ever since he was born, and he begins to speak to the soul like this:" Do not be afraid, my brother of the soul! (Saint Gregory of Nissa explains why he calls him brother.) Because the angel and the soul are rational, autonomous, speaking, beings and are also spirits, as the Holy Scriptures say: and they will all be like the angels of God.)

[And the angel continues:] "Look at your body! There, my soul brother - this is your body, that's the house you've lived in until now ... It was inside that shell that you were born from the womb your mother, it was in it that you lived for 20, 60, 80 "- any number of years God has given us on earth. "Remember, my brother, when the triumph of the Last Judgment calls, in a blink of an eye this body will come back to life, just as you see it now ... and you will go to Judgment, as Apostle Paul says: All will stand before the throne of the judgment of Jesus Christ, to be rewarded according to their actions, both good and bad.

The guardian angel reminds him again: "Listen, my brother, when you were little, your mother sent you to bring a bucket full of water or vegetables from the garden or bring the geese from the lawn or do this or that little household chore. Look, this is what your thoughts were then, and that's what you understood then. " And he begins to remember the things of the soul from his early childhood, the good deeds he has done in his body, as well as the bad things ... And he reminds the soul of everything he has done from early childhood until the moment of his death, in every day and every minute of his life. Because once out of the body, the soul has a very acute memory. It's as clear as the sunlight ... He sees everything clearly as in a mirror. This is what happens the first day after death

iPhone 6s Plus 64GB in Gold, the 2 years with my iPhone 5s in gold was worth it

24. How tall are you?

5'10 when my hair is flat ironed, with my natural texture about 6ft even and 6'3 in my cowboy or dress boots

25. Do you have any pets?

These thirsty white boys 😘- But seriously I'd never date a white boy, they've never appealed to me or been my thing

Realistically I've always wanted a Black cat named Minnie, a chinchilla, black bunny or a Guinea pig but if we're talking fantasy, a dragon, griffin, an eagle or a snowy owl are things I've always wanted too

"DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY TO TURN!!" A big tern, with a big orange bill, these birds are one of my favorites, it flies low with spectacular aerial displays involving pairs or squadrons, swooping and stooping in unison, they are not common in the Gambia but at Tanji beach there are about 15,000, because of the fishing boats that come in everyday, and this is where this image was taken, and where I left my heart.

CAN ANYBODY PUT A CAPTION TO THIS IMAGE?

Thanks for your visit, any comments are always appreciated, Keep safe and enjoy.......Tomx.

Some of you may not know just how hard it really is to be an "INFLUENCER" . When you're making "CONTENT" for your "FOLLOWERS" you have to be willing to put personal safety aside for the shot. Personally I appreciate their dedication to duty and loyalty to their sheeple!

If you should recognize these folks please let them know I'm open to having a "COLLAB" with them even though I think they're self absorbed narcissistic twits! 😄

And that's true! I don't know what i'm looking for, is something weird but it is.

You know when it is really high tide when it reaches the bottom of the palisade fencing on the left. Fortunately it coincided perfectly with the 50 minute late appearance of the Balfour Beatty Drain Train top and tailed by matching Choppers. A shame about the appalling light though!

Now I know it's Spring but I'm going to show you lots of photographs I took last Autumn using my Olympus Pen FT half frame single lens reflex that I loaded with Kodak Ektar. These photographs of St Thomas' Churchyard in Brampton, Chesterfield. I took similar photographs that you can see in my folder on my Samsung Galaxy.

The Olympus camera and its system took the 35mm frame and divided it in two making a 24mm X 18mm frame. The system was designed and built in the 1960s. The lenses were small and light and performed beautifully. I have the FT with TTL metering and the FV without metering. I also have two of the more sophisticated viewfinder Pens- a Pen D2 and a D3. The latter was loaded with B&W film and I have yet to process that. The half frame system declined for a variety of reasons. Kodak wouldn't mount slides, processing colour prints was awkward for the labs and full frame gear got smaller (initiated by Olympus!). These are taken on the 60mm. I still love this gear.

The Bull has been and continues to be a strong symbol and a living icon in our lives. Those that know them revere them for their fertile nature. They will graze and ruminate and add fertility to the ground they adorn. One bull can sire a heard and not many bulls see great age as only the chosen are kept and they need to fulfil a purpose. King for the day and King for the year have not as many days and years as others and yet who would be the bull not chosen? I would if that is my choice, many though want to be Top Dog and Chief Bull.

This magnificent Bull in Bo’ness had me thinking of Pictish Art and their Symbol Stones. Their animal symbols survive to this day where their language is now none existent. The wonderfully evocative decorated stones are found at Pictish Sites with the striking lines flowing and curling like waves of energy form both the outlines and internal structure of the subjects. At Burghead in Moray several Bull symbols were found leading some to believe that the Bull was a symbol venerated here, maybe a marker not unlike those later used in Heraldry to tell a story of identity that is linked to landscape and to those who control it. The notion of totems as good luck and potent identifying markers of person and of people, of individual and of tribe to set a motif of identity within this material world and an icon within all spiritual realms too.

This particular carved stone is displayed in London in The British Museum and thought so highly of that a replica cast is held in Edinburgh at The National Museums Scotland. This Bull is also incorporated into the current Logo for The Moray Society Elgin Museum. There is a cast in The Elgin Museum amongst other Pictish Symbol Stones. The symbol stones from Burghead are numbered 1-6 and this one is catalogued as,

Burghead 5, Moray, Pictish symbol stone

Measurements: 0.53m, W 0.53m, D 0.08m

Stone type: sandstone

Place of discovery: NJ c 109 691

Present location: British Museum, London (1861.10-24.1) (cast in Elgin Museum)

Evidence for discovery: one of many bull carvings said to have been found during quarrying of the wall of the upper citadel to find building stones from around 1800 onwards, of which six have survived (Macdonald 1862). This stone was found sometime before 1809, when it was exhibited at a meeting of the Society of Antiquaries of London, and it was in private hands in London for many years before being presented to the British Museum.

Present condition: good.

Description

The triangular shape of this slab may indicate the preferred form for these bull stones from Burghead. One broad face is incised with the most ferocious image of a bull to have survived, pacing angrily towards the right with his head lowered far down and his tail swishing across his rump.

Date: seventh century.

This is a cast of a stone found at Burghead in Moray. It is one of a number of stones carved with bull symbols, found in and around the site of the Pictish fortress at Burghead. They date from between 500 and 800.

Like the other stones, the bull is naturalistically depicted, with scrolls defining the joints where the limbs meet the body.

The large fort at Burghead was a major Pictish settlement. A number of carvings have been found there, many depicting bulls. Various theories have been put forward to explain their significance, including religious, territorial emblems or clan totems.

“Interpretation of the stones' original role has varied. Some scholars have suggested they were displayed on the fort's ramparts as symbols of power; others have seen them as having a votive role in a frieze as part of a pagan fertility cult; while others argue they were standing stones lining a processional route through the ramparts, a role suggested by their likely original kite-shaped form.”

WE KNOW DONKEY'S LOOK BRINGS YOU LUCK, HERE IN SWITZERLAND, DONKEYS STRIKE STOPS THE TRAIN IN IT'S TRACK AND CAUSE A DELAY OF 20 MINUTES. OF COURSE EVERY PASSENGER ENJOYED THE FUNNY DELAY, EXCEPT THE CAPTAIN OF THE TRAIN

Strike, Dharna, Gherao , what ever you may call it. These three neightbour hood donkeys who were late comers to the station suddenly became train stoppers.

This happened while travellin in the charming cog wheel train to the scenic splendour of JUNGFRAUJOCH - TOP OF EUROPE. in Switzerland,

The train takes us through picturesque hills, valleys, lakes, iceclad mountains, enjoying the marvel at the changes in alpine scenery .

The train stopped in a station, we saw three neighborhood donkeys wanted to board the train, a bit late, the drive closed the doors. The animals gone mad and jumped on the tracks and stopped the train from moving. The Captain of the train, horned, howled, whizzled, and choo chood, but in vain. The captain left the control in my custody, cajoled and begged, with out result. I promised to shoot them with my camera and persuaded them to board the train. I was continue to be behind the wheel. The picture shows it all............. Right!!

We all coninued the journey to Top of Europe happily.

Those who follow me know I like to mix up 'Monochrome Monday' posts with selective color now and then and this frame seemed to lend itself perfectly to that effect. What better way to tell the story of Pan Am in one image as they are finally about to disappear after a half century or wreaking heartache on New England Railroading.

Let's hope these rails have a future that sees them pulled from the mud, leveled, aligned, and ballasted with a few ties added to get them up to a respectable 10 mph instead of the 'walking speed' that is still too fast!

As for this shot, this is the story I wrote with another normal color one I posted last week:

With less than a month until Pan Am disappears as an independent regional I figured I should do a bit more documentation before the end. So despite wanting to go to Palmer I passed on the B&A and headed to Ayer figuring AYPO would be a sure thing. Alas there was narry a proper painted unit to be found which I suppose is the proper way to document the last dying gasps of everyone's least favorite railroad. This has got to be the only case where a soulless Class 1 like CSXT will be the lesser of evils!

Anyway, after shooting two trains in Ayer both with ugly patched C40-8s I headed to Lawrence but alas LA-1 wasn't working and the two yard engines (one of which was yet another patched GE!) were just parked. I waited for a few uninspiring shots of AYPO again and then got a tip that BO-1 was headed to Peabody. Having gotten skunked last time I tried that due to a track inspector taking the branch out of service in front of the train I figured I'd try again.

Well when I got to the area I checked Rousselot first, but the rail heads were still rusty so I knew I hadn't missed them yet and they must be on their way out. So I started following the line back to Salem when I found them....and just my luck.

Look close and you'll see a maintainer squatted down to the right working on MEC 502 sitting here just short of the little bridge over the North River. When I went to investigate further why they weren't moving I noticed that the loco and and five hoppers were timetable east (compass west) of the Grove Street crossing and two tanks were cut sitting west of it. The rear truck on that rear car was derailed and the rail was rolled beneath. Just for fun I drove to the next crossing and could see the ties chewed up for at least 1200 or more feet that it bounced along before they came to a stop. At the 5 mph or less they operate on the Danvers Industrial the crew probably didn't feel anything and didn't even notice....I honestly kinda wonder how they found out? Did they look back and see? Did someone call it in? Did they finally go into emergency? Who knows...but regardless looks like the rails behind me are going to stay rusty a bit longer!

Ugghhh Pan Am....good riddance....I can't wait to shoot a CSXT geep here...maybe they'll actually make it!

I am working on several books on "epic photography," and I recently finished a related one titled: The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Why the Fibonacci Numbers Exalt Beauty and How to Create PHI Compositions in Art, Design, & Photography: An Artistic and Scientific Introduction to the Golden Mean . Message me on facebook for a free review copy!

www.facebook.com/goldennumberratio/

The Golden Ratio informs a lot of my art and photographic composition. The Golden Ratio also informs the design of the golden revolver on all the swimsuits and lingerie, as well as the 45surf logo! Not so long ago, I came up with the Golden Ratio Principle which describes why The Golden Ratio is so beautiful.

The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.

The Birth of Venus! Beautiful Golden Ratio Swimsuit Bikini Model Goddess! Helen of Troy! She was tall, thin, fit, and quite pretty!

A quick edit of a recent shot of these two cubs... just like people... one brother should not turn his back on another, you never know what they will do behind your back...

I know it's late this year but bird watchers amongst you in towns like Wolverhampton and Walsall will be glad to see that the greater spotted Jojo has come out of hibernation and can be seen hovering in doorways looking for a mate or should I say mates irresistably attracted to her red breast and fine plummage.

1) My sunset shot over Cardiff failed as the sunset wasn't great.

2) This was the backup idea as it fits the Macro Monday theme: Games People Play.

3) I haven't posted to the Macro Monday group in a while.

Nauru island has been destroyed – do you know Nauru? one of the smallest island in the world. And once the richest and wealthiest countries in the world. maybe you are wondering where the country is located, is close to the country australia.

Nauru lay on the land area of 8000 hectares in the western Pacific ocean. The extent of only about one tenth of the oil palm plantation Astra, Eka Cipta Wijaya, Prabowo, Cargill, DL Sitorus, and tycoons Crude Palm Oil (CPO) in Sumatra there. Only about a quarter of its 50 spacious logged forests conglomerates concessionaires in Borneo there. Precisely, the area of the Republic of Nauru is almost equivalent to the Lake Toba.

21km square berarea country for 30 years been listed as one of the richest countries in the world. Income per capita in 1981 reached 17,000 dollars, compared with Indonesia, which is only 530 dollars per capita in the same year. With such a high income and a population of only 13 thousand inhabitants (still more spectators Indonesian league opponents Saudi Arabia the other day, which reached 90,000) Nauru transformed into a very rich country. They build tall buildings. Buy cars and luxury commercial aircraft. There are no poor people in there, let alone bum. State subsidizes the lives of all citizens. More than 80% of the workforce was appointed as civil servants. These employees are not tied to office hours. They may come and go as they pleased. The unemployed also subsidized by the state. In short, was so rich Nauru, without any of the working population can live in luxury. People are not taxed. Education and free health care, subsidized food, who want to study abroad were given scholarships. Even so spoiled, so reluctant to Nauru population of mobile workers. His government was forced to import labor from Australia, China, Kiribati and Tuvalu.

What makes Nauru be all that rich? not because of bird droppings. More than 70% of the land consists of sediment Nauru Guano bird droppings that had accumulated over hundreds and even thousands of years ago. This is because once Nauru is a place for large colonies of birds Guano. This bird droppings into phosphate, which serves as fertilizer for crops.

Phosphate was found in 1899 and began to be explored in 1907. At that Nauru is still a part of the country Australia. Once granted independence on January 31, 1968, phosphate mining areas controlled by men. Estimated that the number of high-quality phosphate across Nauru 41 million tons. This huge amount. Compare with Indonesia, which consists of thousands of islands, the total number of phospatnya estimated at only 2.5 million tonnes. Because it is only natural that the country would fall into the list of the world’s smallest country touted as the country’s phosphate, and targeted by many countries.

After the massive phosphate exploration for decades, Nauru is now reaping the consequences. According to Greenpeace’s investigation, 90% of Nauru was severely damaged and need to be rehabilitated. That means that only about 2 square km area Nauru only habitable. Greenpeace also found spreading poison of its mining activities in three places. Toxic substances that the polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), asbestos, Polyvinyl chloride plastic (PVC) and metal.

Tremendous damage this requires a very long rehabilitation period and cost prohibitive. Nauru should import fertilizer, humus, and other essential nutrients to rebuild the ecosystem. It costs about 200 million dollars, and the process took 30 years. The most crucial thing to do is reclaiming back the area of agriculture, clean water sources, livestock and plantasi trees. If this step is not performed, then the entire population of Nauru have to migrate to other areas. When kept in Nauru they will suffer from various diseases due to mining, hunger and lack of water. Migration area selection is empty islands in the Pacific Islands region.

Nauru government intends reclaiming back its territory. For the year 1989, they filed a lawsuit against Australia in the International Court. Nauru demanded Australia to pay compensation for the environmental damage done mining company. The company itself is actually a consortium of three countries, namely Australia, England and New Zealand. Australia circumvent these demands and accused Nauru as a party that should be responsible. Because the country gained independence from Australia in 1968. And since then, phosphate mining Nauru managed native son, no longer by the consortium companies.

In 1992, the International Court of Justice in favor of Nauru. According to them Australia and two other countries (the United Kingdom and New Zealand) must take responsibility for environmental damage Nauru, as they participate explore this mine before.

In 1993 the three countries were required to pay compensation. Australia have to pay compensation of 107 million Australian dollars, while the United Kingdom and New Zealand, respectively 12 million dollars.

So how? Are you curious about this country? if you want to visit to see it? it’s up to you. I hope what happened to Nauru could be a lesson to us all that exploit something excessively without any action about the future it will be bad. so do not get used to always live with a tasty and versatile plush yes, learn to appreciate life and learn to start thinking about the future.

As most of you know, I love Sindy’s tailored suits the best, and recently got two longed-for suit looks for her: - ‘Sporting Life’ from 1978 on my chestnut/whisky brown-haired Active Ballerina on the left, (I love the suede-look material - that bomber jacket has a gathered back which is a great little designer detail! - the very 70’s ‘fur’ collar and most of all that very ‘Prada -ish’ jacquard knit top! I added the brown shoulder bag from 1977’s ‘Sunshine Girl’…) and ‘Springtime’ from 1982 on my Titian Active Ballerina on the right. I remember lots of women having something just like this in their workaday wardrobes back then in the very early 80’s, especially that ‘pussy-bow’ blouse! I also love its suede-type shoulder bag in the deepest chocolate brown. They are joined by my favourite brunette 1974 Lovely Lively wearing her ‘High Style’ outfit from 1977. All these looks are representative of the REAL fashions of their time, (one of the best things about Sindy’s clothes and accessories, IMO!) and they bring back lots of memories.

When, when I am down

I lay my hands upon this ground

For the thousandth time

I call him in, his earth is mine

Before I make the offering

Remember all the faces that I've seen

Now all the marks have settled on my skin

From all the different places that I've been

That I've been

And I feel the light for the very first time

Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive

And I feel the light for the very first time

Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive

War inside my mind

Behind my eyes, is coming down

And for the thousandth time

I feel too numb to even mind

Before I make the offering

Remember all the faces that I've seen

Now all the marks have settled on my skin

From all the different places that I've been

That I've been

And I feel the light for the very first time

Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive

And I feel the light for the very first time

Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive

I, I don't know where I am, or where I'll go

Where to even begin when I know

What lies behind makes no sense in my mind

But I know that it's time to let go, oh

And I feel the light for the very first time

Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive

And I feel the light for the very first time

Not anybody knows that I am lucky to be alive

I'm lucky to be alive

I'm lucky to be alive
