It's just been pointed out to me that I've adhered to the rules of photography by providing a definite lead-in to the picture. Sorry about that .. it wasn't deliberate and I promise I won't do it again! If you spot any other instances of rule adherence, for God's sake let me know and I'll delete the shot immediately .. That is the Swedish what3words address to the gingerbread factory where these ginger thins, or pepparkakor were made. And they have been baking them for nearly a century.
Sehr knapp war es erneut mit den Wolken. Hinter mir schob sich kurze Zeit später einen Gewitterwolkenwand heran. Es sollte das letzten Bild mit Sonne an dem Tag werden und das einzige von dieser Stelle. Der vorherige Umlauf ist nur knapp einem Wolkenschaden zum Opfer gefallen...

I live less than 5 minutes drive away from here, and have never photographed it at dawn before. One of my cotancts, David Mould, has shamed me into getting up early by posting a couple of nice shots from here recently, so, with sunrise at 4.40 ish today, I got up at 4, and stumbled made my way to the loch.
I practically ran to my usual spot - I know it would be good there as soon as I arrived, the mist coming off the loch was pretty good.
The sun came up properly about 5.30, by which time I was almost back at the car, having resisted the urge to leave several time already.
The sun at the time I took this, was behind some cloud on the horizon, so I didn't quite get the light I was hoping for, but the shot turned out not too bad anyway.
Canon Eos 5D, 17-40L, hi-tech grad filter and 4 hours of sleep.

What you see on the surface is chalk, with probably a connection to the ancient skill of flint-knapping.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to your computer... another from Knapps Loch.
The benefit in getting up at the crack of sparrows is that you get both the sunrise at one end of the loch... and the moon setting at the other...

Schneverdingen: Pietzmoor
Das Pietzmoor liegt am Südrand des Naturschutzgebietes Lüneburger Heide bei Schneverdingen und umfasst heute noch eine Fläche von ca. 2,5 km².
Profiluntersuchungen, die 1975 durchgeführt wurden, ergaben, dass die maximale Torfmächtigkeit 7,50 Meter beträgt.
Geht man von einem jährlichen Wachstum der torfbildenden Spagnen (Torfmoose) von etwa 1 Millimeter aus, dann beträgt das Alter des Pietzmoores knapp 8.000 Jahre.
Dank erfolgreicher Renaturierung kann das Pietzmoor nun wieder wachsen und bleibt als "Geschichtsbuch der Natur" erhalten.

Im östlichen Ortszentrum der 300-Seelen-Gemeinde Albrechtsberg (KR) steht vor der örtlichen Burg an der L 7064 diese knapp 3m hohe zierliche und anmutigende spätbarocke Figur der römischen Jagdgöttin Diana aus Sandstein. Sie ruht in 669m SH auf einem quadratischen Natursteinblock auf dem ein kleiner quadratischer Sockel aufliegt. Auf diesem ein geschwungenes Postament das in der Mitte ein seichte nach innen gekehlte Kartusche hat die der Postamentform folgt. Ihre Kartuschenrahmung endet unterhalb in einer Schneckenform. In der Kartusche unterhalb ein typisches Rocaille-Ornament des Rokoko - eine Muschel. An den beiden seitlichen Postamentseiten die selbe Ausführung. Am Postament eine Deckplatte die unterhalb leicht gekehlt ist und oberhalb dachartig vom Figurensockel oberhalb abfällt. Auf der Deckplatte ein rechteckiger Figurensockel auf der die römische Jagdgöttin Diana sich befindet. Sie für ihr Alter sehr jugendlich und modern bekleidet mit einem modernen Haar-Style. Sie hält in ihrer linken Hand ihren Jagdbogen, in ihrer rechten Hand einen Pfeil. Über ihrer rechten Schulter hängt ein Lederköcher mit Reservepfeilen. An ihrer Hüfte eine offene Jagdtasche. Eigentümer und Stifter dieser sehr gelungenen seltenen Statue war Freiherr Franz Joseph Lempruch, Herr der Herrschaft Albrechtsberg auf Burg Albrechtsberg dahinter. Ob sie immer hier stand ist nicht feststellbar wahrscheinlich stand sie ursprünglich im ehemaligen barocken Lustgarten hinter der Burg den es heute nicht mehr gibt. Freiherr Lempruch ist Stifter mehrer schöner Statuen in seinem Herrschaftsbereich wie Florian, Nepomuk, Diana usw. Diana war ursprünglich eine römische Göttin der Geburtshilfe und Patronin der Frauen und Mädchen. Populärer wurde sie jedoch als Göttin der Jagd und des Mondes. Die römische Diana ist mit der griechischen Göttin Artemis gleich zu setzen. Diana ist die Tochter Jupiters und der Latona (Leto) und ist daher die Zwillingsschwester von Apollo. Leto ist die Tochter des Jupiter (Zeus).
