I put my little sewing kit on the floor to show how small it is - amazing how many photos can come from one $2 sewing kit - no doubt there will be more!
And sneakers - my surefire go to!
INFAMOUS LANDMARK
Chow Kit Market is recognised as one of Malaysia’s most infamous landmarks. Located at the northern end of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, it is divided into two halves: the first half is home to the city’s unofficial Red Light District, while the other part is KL’s most popular local market. Even though it is not as well known to tourists, Chow Kit Market is definitely exciting. However it is not a place for the faint hearted, with vendors who are pushy and it takes a thick skin to get serious bargains here.
The spotlight on Chow Kit Market focuses on its main street: a lively and culturally-enriching scene. Although the area may not be the most kosher quarter of KL it plays host to the largest wet market in Malaysia. Also known as the Bazaar Baru Chow Kit, this rustic makeshift market is a kaleidoscope of colours and fragrances. The bazaar is shaded by oversized, colourful umbrellas and divided into a wet and dry section with the colourful souk commonly frequented by locals, especially the neighbourhood’s Malay community.

Encountered by chance in a hotel car park in Yorkshire. It was one of several kit cars (of different types) that were gathered together, presumably for some sort of tour. I think this is a Berlinetta model, a later, larger version of the original two-seat roadster that was designed and sold by Paul Moorhouse. The Roadster was one of the (many) kit cars that I dreamed of one day building in the late 1970s and 1980s, but (so far) haven't.

Completed my Adafruit MiniPOV3 tonight. I was able to upload sample code to it, but I'm having an issue with avr-gcc so I can't compile my own yet.
Although I see many foxes every year both red and kit I have never been able to get a photo of one. Usually I see them at night and even those I see in the daytime are gone in the blink of an eye. So I was very happy to find this obliging kit fox resting outside its den in the west desert of northern Utah last weekend in some late day light. I am very happy with the photos I got from this photo session and think some of them might be my best mammal photos to date. I would be glad to hear which one you think is best and why.
These images were all shot on the Olympus E-M1 Mark III with Olympus 300mm F4 lens. The raw files were imported through Lightroom with standard settings and then I removed noise with Topaz Noise AI and then edited them a little further in Luminar 4. I usually don't use so many different apps to edit a photo but I think it worked out well to bring out the details and mood of this scene.
I visited the den today and was excited to find out that there are six kits not 5! There are two cottages that they have been denning under and there are a lot of trees and bushes so it is often hard to see how many kits there are! Today she nursed them and I counted 6. The kits are getting bigger and are often wondering off on their own and exploring the environment around them! I also got a glimpse of papa fox but he is a bit shy! I read that the male gray fox helps supply food for the family but he actually does not stay in the den with them!

...when the meal is done, bones became a play thing. From earlier in the spring...hope these adorable foxes fended well for themselves as they began to explore the world around their den. Nikon D850 and Nikon 200 to 500mm lens.
Funny how cute these little fellas are and how they gorw up to be eaten machines. Glad to have them around. This lil' Red Fox kit was quite interested in me until mama told him to do otherwise and then he disappeared into thte brush.
A continental kit is a term used in the United States for an upright externally-mounted spare tire located behind an automobile's trunk, made popular by the Continental Mark Series, which carried a simulated continental tire until 1998.
Couple of kits playing around.. Their version of food soccer. No, I did not feed them. I do not think anyone is feeding these pups. The spot where the den is not near many people. I think they found this bread crust somewhere.. The other side was burnt black.

Back in April I headed out to the Carrizo Plain in search of Kit Foxes. This family wasn’t at the spot I’d been told where a den had been seen...although a family was there also...too far away for me to get any good photos, but I was thrilled to be sitting in my car watching through my long lens on my camera as they played, scratched, got loves from mom, etc. Feeling content that I found the right area and got a fun sighting in, I headed toward home. But then two little ears caught my eye on the side of the road, so of course I stopped. Sure enough, those little ears were Kit Fox pup ears. I stopped the car, turned it off, prayed for no cars to pass me on the dirt road, took a deep breath and started shooting. I was even able to open and get half of myself out my sunroof for a clearer shot. They didn’t care. I watched for about 10 minutes, trying to remember to breath and not make any quick movements or scary sounds. Wow!
Even in April, these pups seemed not so small, and as it’s likely the pups have dispersed (when the pups are about 4 months old family bonds lessen and they disperse-see link below), I’m excited to share this photo of two pups and mom in the back.
I’m grateful that the San Joaquin Kit Foxes have a safe place to birth and raise their young on the Carrizo Plain.
