Raccoon Kits (Procyon lotor) - Along the The Florida Trail on the St. John side of the Taylor Creek Loop north of Route 528, Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area, Titusville, Florida
Actually 3 kits we found alongside the road, with the middle one refusing to give us eye contact.
I stayed in the truck, angled the driver side window uproad, and made these captures with the six on the roof-rack rig.
'Cause if I stopped and got out of the truck they surely would have beat feet for the pinewood flats.
A couple of months ago I posted an image of an adult pine marten with only one ear. This is one of her three kits that she brought along with her. Ever so cute....ever so deadly. When in Scotland I heard of an adult taking all 10 hens of a very disgruntled landlady. Not everyone thinks they are cute!

"Stealthy Red Fox Kit" by Patti Deters. This creeping little fox is practicing her hunting skills in the long grass. She is a young red fox (Vulpes vulpes) as you can tell by the black forelegs. Her eyes are definitely watching me (the photographer) as she makes her stealthy way towards my hide / blind. My mind is on red foxes today! I was excited to see a red fox run across my backyard again! Then I saw a red fox kit dead in the road which made me so sad! The two foxes were in different areas and were not the same fox!!! It is not an easy life for these wonderful creatures but I am happy that I have been able to watch them play and enjoy life!

Completed my Adafruit MiniPOV3 tonight. I was able to upload sample code to it, but I'm having an issue with avr-gcc so I can't compile my own yet.
Two Kits on the farm's concrete pile this morning. Glad to see more than one this time - kits need a playmate.
I visited the den today and was excited to find out that there are six kits not 5! There are two cottages that they have been denning under and there are a lot of trees and bushes so it is often hard to see how many kits there are! Today she nursed them and I counted 6. The kits are getting bigger and are often wondering off on their own and exploring the environment around them! I also got a glimpse of papa fox but he is a bit shy! I read that the male gray fox helps supply food for the family but he actually does not stay in the den with them!
Encountered by chance in a hotel car park in Yorkshire. It was one of several kit cars (of different types) that were gathered together, presumably for some sort of tour. I think this is a Berlinetta model, a later, larger version of the original two-seat roadster that was designed and sold by Paul Moorhouse. The Roadster was one of the (many) kit cars that I dreamed of one day building in the late 1970s and 1980s, but (so far) haven't.

Running out from work at 8pm did not leave me many options for shooting the sunset. I went down to the beach and tried to capture some interesting looking splashes.
What you don't see is the persistence and preparation. Usually that's what wildlife photography comes down to. Over the last two years my wife and I have walked from our house to a local fox den more than 100 times. She walks every day, so she's probably been closer to 200 times. We go each Spring to see if the mom or kits are out. Sometimes we'll catch them playing in the grass. Other times we'll get a glimpse of them in the woods. Most of the time we don't see them or they spook quickly. I got a break recently and ran into this kit on the edge of the woods. The kit was quite curious and allowed me to hang out for about 30 minutes while it alternated between hunting and playing. Hoping I will have a few more to share as I go through my pics. It was so rewarding to see my efforts pay off.
Went to see the Fox family to see how much the kits have grown. This one is almost as big as it's momma.

...when the meal is done, bones became a play thing. From earlier in the spring...hope these adorable foxes fended well for themselves as they began to explore the world around their den. Nikon D850 and Nikon 200 to 500mm lens.
