Barbie Looks

My husband and I took a long weekend trip to go and photograph a red fox den we knew about. I am glad we di because the den was a perfect view and the red fox kits were very active. Plus beautiful light most of the times they were out!

When I look back, this was such an awesome encounter....to have the camera knowledge back then that I have now, I'd probably have taken 10x's as many shots then what I have and most of them would be sharp and in focus better then they are...but the images I do have are priceless!!

Thank you all for your views, comments and faves!! Have a great weekend-be safe and healthy! :)

I believe this is a 1947 Pontiac Chieftain and the proud owner is Mr. Kit Kat. He patiently posed for his portrait. The old barn was constructed in 1914, as it was carved into the foundation.

Looking for Help

Mom and three kits were caught on camera almost every night in our backyard. Mom and one of her kits stopped showing up. Concerned for the two little ones left behind (and visible on camera) I called the Fish and Wildlife Dept. When I told them mom and one kit had been gone for two weeks, I was told mom was probably NOT coming back, that she was either dead or trapped. After speaking to them we decided to let nature take it's course. Eventually, they would leave on their own.

Well, I am really relieved to say after over 3 weeks mom and the other kit are back with the two left behind. The three little ones were rolling around in the yard as if they were happy to see each other...and all four walking the fence line with mom in the lead! (Now I can sleep better!)

I appreciate your visit and so grateful for your comments/faves!

Stay safe and healthy!!

another pic of my encounter with the Red Fox kits

One of my favorite shots from this encounter

Just clambering up his tree, not a care in the world... Clearly not used to climbing though as he kept looking down!!

Photographed at British Wildlife Centre

Fox kits are one of the most adorable animals on the planet in my opinion. They are full of mischief, energy, playfullness and have sweet personalities.

This kit was resting while the photographer was laying down on his belly a few feet away. It itched a scratch and laid back down to rest. I imagine the itch was from a mosquito bite. Another mosquito is on its head looking for a free meal.

At a hide near to Blairgowrie in Perthshire, I was waiting excitedly for pine martens to appear, but I was overjoyed when they brought along their kit. The whole experience a joyful one, especially as it was my 65th birthday.

Red Fox kit

This Kit and several other Kits had been hanging out in a dirt pile in my back yard and this part was cool, I got to take photos of them while I was sitting in the house!

The red fox is the largest of the true foxes and one of the most widely distributed members of the order Carnivora, being present across the entire Northern Hemisphere including most of North America, Europe and Asia, plus parts of North Africa. It is listed as least concern by the IUCN. Wikipedia

On an undulating boardwalk in Norfolk. This is not the sharpest image and is heavily cropped, but it was fantastic to watch.

Older image, but kits never get old.

Two Fox Kits wrestling on the grassy tundra can make a person laugh. Sometimes, the Kits can be so funny that you just have to put the camera down and simply enjoy the moment. The Kits are just like human children, picking at each other and wrestling, jumping someone when not looking. Their first summer on this green earth is nothing but playing, resting, eating and repeat.

Here's another of the fox kits from Cromwell Valley Park. I have so many photos from this day. There are many that I love but probably won't post.

Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
