I love and respect TV too much to harm or destroy any TV, so I did not throw this brick through this old TV. Some kids must have had fun doing this, as the TV is placed on top of an old stable.

Spotted this Nankeen Kestrel whilst out this afternoon and stalked it as it flew down to capture a grasshopper then perched on a nearby fence post to enjoy its kill (image taken hand-held).

Hope you like this!

Kill the Princess at Le Stock, Mennecy, France, march 2023

When you kill an ant or a small insect, do you ever think he has a whole family waiting for his return? No, you only think for yourself..

One thing about Noah. He's not a finesse player and has no remorse. It's the same every time. Noah kills it, Tucker picks it up and puts it under something.

Helmeted iguana (Corytophanes cristatus) - Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, Belize

This was a very exciting find for me as I walked through the Belizean forest. This is only the 3rd time I have seen this species, the first was about 5 years ago when I was working in Panama on Barro Colorado Island, the 2nd was in Costa Rica, and now this one from Belize. These lizards are infrequently encountered and are very easy to pass by due to their excellent camouflage and they are thought to be found in relatively low densities in their forest homes. This lizard does not move frequently and perches in the same area for long periods waiting for prey to venture by. Infact there is atleast one study from Costa Rica and Panama that examined this species and determined they were a specialist in feeding on extremely large arthropods, otherwise it engaged in long periods if immobility until the opportunity presented itself to catch prey. Then they would spring into action and tackle its sizeable prey which allowed to retire back to immobility. The authors suggest (correctly in my opinion) that this was an adaptation to minimize conspicuous feeding behavior and thus reduce the risk of attracting predators. Really a cool animal.

In other updates: Normally on my trips I seek to take only photos, and leave only footprints. However, I inadvertently broke my own rules this time and brought some little friends back from Belize. I have discovered 3 botfly larvae buried in my leg, arm, and scalp. I accidentally killed the one in my arm, the others are still making themselves at home. I suspect I acquired them while hiking/camping in Cockscomb where this lizard was found.

Yet another upload from my week at the beach. ^_^

I think I have a cross process problem again when it comes to editing my photos..... Well I only added cross process to this photo because it really made the clouds stand out more, and I like it, so that's all that counts.

So I went a bit further into the steampunk, but this time thinking outside the common "English" styled steampunk that most people think of first.

From left to right:

- An Outlands Railway Guard: The harsh tundra known as the "outlands" is a dangerous and harsh place, home only to nomads and bandit clans. However, this inhospitable place is also host to important, expansive railway networks between several countries. The trains that cross the Outlands need to be guarded heavily, and require the most proficient weaponry the industrial revolution has to offer to achieve this.

- Mountainous Scout: As the infamous Empire spreads across the lands, the nations of the northern mountain regions have started to send out scouts to make sure the Empire isn't setting up FOBs or sending their own scouts into the mountains. The development of multi-spectrum goggles has made seeking hidden enemies much easier, and amplified the ability of the already-competent hunter/trackers that these scouts are.

- Dessert Raider: As the Empire Warily creeps into south-eastern deserts, the native kingdoms retaliate by sending raiding parties to attack imperial camps. The raiders attack at night, using silent weapon such as bows, pikes, swords, etc. to kill any watchmen and set fire to supplies, sabotage transport and equipment, and kill as many people as possible. They are also known for stealing weapons and other gear from the camps they raid; useful devices and technology they wouldn't usually have access to, such as multi spectrum goggles (which help them see at night), and respiration devices (which can help manage smoke inhalation, from the fires they set).

- Nomadic Nobleman: nomads have been ever-present throughout the lands and generally kept to themselves in the past. however in the midst of the industrial revolution, various nomad clans have began to unite and form complex hierarchies. New technologies have made the life of these nomads much easier, namely the invention of steam based transports, as well as guns to better defend themselves. Despite their lack of land ownership, the United Nomad Clans have the power of a small country, and continue to grow bolder than ever before.

- Southern Principality Soldier/Guard: The Empire isn't the only powerful entity on the globe, in the tropical south regions, a thriving nation has its own distinction, with a proud culture and history, strong military might, and dominion over several other lands. With its own share of technological advancements, the soldiers of this principality are well equipped, with advanced firearms and even potent chemical weapons.

So that's that, I hope you like them!

Meet Gogo Yubari (left) and The Bride (right) from Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume 1.

When I first saw the Ninjago set Gamer’s Market I had to pinch myself. Several times: OMG isn’t Harumi wearing The Bride’s tracksuit!? And not a similar looking one. She is really wearing the tracksuit. My absolute admiration goes to Lego and all designers who brought us such a fabulous easter egg. A real treat.

In terms of building technique, most interest lies in Gogo’s minifig, which features a brick-built legs assembly. 1x1 cones are not available in light nougat so I had to use tan ones. They don’t look bad, so I left them “as is”.
