Thank you so much to my friend Dario for letting me use his awesome product :) ♥
This vulture prefers to live in dry savannah, thornbush, arid plains, deserts with scattered trees in wadis, open mountain slopes. They are usually found in undisturbed open country with a scattering of trees and apparently prefer areas with minimal grass cover. While foraging, they can wander into denser habitats and even into human inhabited areas, especially if drawn to road kills. They may be found in elevation from sea-level to 4,500 m (14,800 ft). Rhinoceros: since 1973 the population has recovered well and increased to 544 animals around the turn of the century. To ensure the survival of the endangered species in case of epidemics animals are translocated annually from Chitwan to the Bardia National Park and the Sukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve since 1986. However, the population has repeatedly been jeopardized by poaching: in 2002 alone, poachers killed 37 individuals in order to saw off and sell their valuable horns.[6] Chitwan has the largest population of Indian rhinoceros in Nepal, estimated at 605 individuals out of 645 in total in the country.

Ooh
Oh oh
I feel, I need, I've got to hold on to your love, ooh
Hey baby, thought you were the one who tried to run away
Ooh, baby, wasn't I the one who made you want to stay?
Please don't bet that you'll ever escape me
Once I get my sights on you
Got a license to kill (to kill)
And you know I'm going straight for your heart
(Got a license to kill)
Got a license to kill (to kill)
Anyone who tries to tear us apart
(Got a license to kill)
License to kill, ooh
Hey baby, think you need a friend to stand here by your side?
Yes, you do (your side)
Ooh, baby, now you can depend on me to make things right (things right)
Please don't bet that you'll ever escape me
Once I get my sights on you
and make it rain. Looks like we'll have rain for a couple more days, as this bluebird has three (at least, along with a larva of some kind) in its beak. It may be raining, but the babes still need feeding.
The sun is about rise over the creek there in Middle River, located just off the Chesapeake Bay.
An interesting tidbit ... this is the location just off the point there with the trees where the Stealth Fighter crashed during an airshow back in 1997. This whole area was full of boats watching the show ... it was amazing know one was hurt or killed, and the pilot ejected safely.
"He said you look crazy
Thank you, baby
I owe it all to you
Got me all messed up…"

A view of what is now the Artisans building on the Illinois State Fair grounds in Springfield. Originally known as the Poultry Palace, this handsome structure is the second oldest building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The Poultry Palace was built following a disastrous storm in 1895 that killed many of the State Fair's feathered entries which, up to that time, had been housed in sheds. After the calamity, State Fair Poultry Superintendent, and future Governor Len Small, was quoted as saying: “the loss of valuable fowls was considerable, and the necessity of a suitable building, obvious.”
Construction of the Poultry Palace began in 1896, and was completed in time for the 1897 Illinois State Fair. Now repurposed as the Artisans Building, every Illinois State Fair, the building is filled with displays of Illinois crafts. During the rest of the year, the facility is rented for private gatherings such as wedding receptions, meetings, and high school proms.

Red Kites:-
This magnificently graceful bird of prey is unmistakable with its reddish-brown body, angled wings and deeply forked tail.
The RSPB is celebrating the "remarkable" comeback of the Red Kite, a bird which had almost become extinct in Britain.
For more than 400 years the bird of prey was killed as vermin and by the 1960s there were just 20 pairs.
But the organisation's 2011 Big Garden Birdwatch survey recorded as many as 2,000 breeding pairs, an increase of over 130% since last year.
Its return began in the 1990s with re-introductions in several areas.
At the turn of the 20th century it was extinct in England and Scotland with just a handful of breeding pairs in the Welsh valleys.
The Welsh birds began to expand slowly in the 1980s with legal protection, reduced persecution and efforts of conservationists, but remained very vulnerable.

This primeval scene is beside the Natchez Trace Parkway at mile 122, east of Canton, Mississippi. The National Park Service has provided a nice boardwalk to help the visitor experience this silent and gloomy place. In the lower right a few cypress knees can be seen protruding upward out of the water.
A cypress knee is a distinctive structure forming above the roots of a cypress tree of any of various species of the subfamily Taxodioideae. Their function is unknown, but they are generally seen on trees growing in swamps. Some current hypotheses state that they might help to aerate the tree's roots, create a barrier to catch sediment and reduce erosion, assist in anchoring the tree in the soft and muddy soil, or any combination thereof. (Source: Wikipedia)
Many years ago, the Pearl River flowed here but then changed course. A shallow area was created by the deposition of sediments as the river retreated. During periodic low water, seedlings of water-tolerant cypress and tupelo trees gained a foothold. The trees you see today are a result. Water tupelo and bald cypress trees can live in deep water for long periods. After taking root in the summer when the swamp is nearly dry, the seedlings can stay alive in water deep enough to kill other plants. (Source: www.nps.gov/places/cypress-swamp.htm)

The sea looks tranquil now, but only last Monday (May 11 2020) 5 surfers were killed here, caught by strong winds and foamy waters.

Can you feel this loss
Please let these memories just fade
Time will heal the rain
But sometimes it hurts
I want to shine outside your halo
Watch me when I'm falling down
Step aside
Don't ask why
Let me down
Hit the ground
Bet you smile
Deep inside
Michael Nesmith - Laugh Kills Lonesome
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLyuMjylzGY
All around the campfire
stood seven dusty men
The cook was drinking applejack,
the cattle were all penned
Someone must have cracked a wise one
because the men began to grin
Their smiles shot out like sunbeams
and made the night give in
Because
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Roy and Dale and Pecos Bill,
they knew all about this
So did Walt and Hasui,
who gave it their own twist
Sometimes, when things can't get much worse
and life's become a fist
Someone will crack a wise one
and laughter works like this, huh-huh
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Laugh kills lonesome
Laugh kills lonesome
Laugh kills lonesome every single time

Thank you, Nes, for the music and the laughs.
you should have a licence to kill, if you walk with such a dress in front of such a wall. Well she killed me, as I saw her after my lunchbreak...walking there .... :-D

Another shot of the huge Grizzly Bear laying on the carcass of a musk ox calf. The bear is protecting his kill from Ravens and in his mind, the photographer.
This bear was in the area for three days. I had to work most of the day but would travel to where the bear was after work to photograph it. This is the biggest Grizzly I have ever seen, I've seen bigger Brown Bears. (Brown Bears and Grizzly Bears are technically the same species. The Brown Bears are coastal bears that gorge on salmon and can be up to twice as big as the Grizzlies of the interior and norther areas of Alaska.)
