This one is from my archives.

This bird attacked and killed a pigeon (seen on the ground), equivalent to its size, right in front of my eyes this early morning and was having a hard time flying with it. Instead it started to de-feather and consume it, not heeding my presence!

Thanks to all of you who fave and comment on the photograph.

Who killed Bratjerm?

I killed Bratjerm. I am often questioned about why I killed her off. My answer is that I have chosen to focus my time and energy elsewhere right now for personal reasons. If and when I decide to resurrect Bratjerm or something like her I will definitely alert all of Bratjerm's fans and followers of my decision.

There has been some speculation that I killed her due to copyright infringement problems, but that was not the case.

However, even though Bratjerm is dead, Bratjerm images are all still under copyright, All rights reserved. All copyright infringements will be quickly and aggressively pursued and stopped through the proper legal channels.

Just after sunset I saw this mother fox with prey. It was her intention to bring it to her cubs, but they were not around. So she hid it under the bushes. Unfortunately, it was then too dark to see if her young came....

Bee found death. Hope people who shooting macro stacking dont go and kill or hurt the insects just because they want this type of stacking photo. Please choose natural way. Like macro please love natural.

road kill, interaction between skunk and possum

I've read that nearly 1.5 million deer are killed in traffic every year causing injuries and thousands of dollars in property damage....'mother nature' lets nothing to waste between the scavengers and predators......the only 'critter' missing is vultures have migrated on for the winter......I set up a moultrie game camera for a couple weeks to watch the activity.

Interesting shoot at this place. This is the infamous church from the "Kill Bill" series. We didn't get to spend as much time as I had hoped here because of a nosey neighbor who apparently thought we were going to steal the building. I blogged about it here:

I believe a shrike killed this snake and will return to dine on it. I wonder if it is a small rattlesnake.

================================================

Like a lightning, all is chaos in the marshlands. All birds fly away, a little egret (egretta garzetta) among them. But up from above attacks a northern goshawk (accipiter gentilis). I can't remember the details, all was so swift, but the images give us the clues. The egret was hit by the goshawk mid-flight, with claws or beak, in the neck. Then it plumeted to the marsh; the attacker made a sharp u-turn while mantaining visual contact with its prey, and then closed in for the kill. With its claws the goshawk submerged the bloodied egret in the water till it drawn, and then proceded to eat.

Here you could see the ending of this one-sided fight:

Look at the glacial stare of the attacker, calculating the exact position of its prize, and how uses the right wing alula to turn sharply.
