This is Ken Bones an actor who's probably cropped up in something you've seen in the last 10 years or so. He's currently appearing in the BBC production Versailles as Cardinal Leto.

I bumped into him on the Trump march when I stepped out of the crowd to have a rest and found myself stood right next to him, having been watching Versailles the night before!

Ken was here on our shop wall. This is now covered up by the walk-in cooler of the new brewery.

Basket ball added by me, not included.

Ken doll, its kind of vintage already.

I beleive from 70´s.

Its like an Olympic sports guy.

His face reminds me to some old times porno actor, but I love his body proportions and how poseable is him.

Great doll for me!

I am blown away by this doll. The whole line is all sorts of amazing -- the street looks, the fresh packaging, the totally affordable pricepoint--but this Ken is the showstopper. I only hope Mattel keeps this line alive for a while.

Introducing Lottie Lemon :D

Ever since I first discovered Blythe I always dreamed of owning a Kenner.....and now.......that dream came true.

I totally fell in love with this girl, Kenners seem to have a way of pulling at your heart-strings. I need to give her a few more hair spa's untill I am happy, and I hope I can find someone who is up for deyellowing her face for me (preferably in the UK)....

I really adore Little Lottie ♥

Happy Weekend Flickr Friends ^^

Thanks for the visit :)

FIRST OF ALL, HOLY FVCK!!!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN SO MANY KEN DOLLS IN ONE WAVE!!! 7 OF THEM!!! SECOND, NEW BODY TYPES TOO!!!!! Some look "thicc" LOL! And some look tall & petite!!! And I also saw 2 new Barbie Look dolls!! One was curvy!! Sadly I couldn't find the photos of them on line yet, but there are everywhere on instagram! Okay I need to save me some money, cuz this will hit hard on my wallet!!

Walking home from class I was just leaving the downtown part of Toronto and noticed this wall mural leading customers up the stairs to a British pub. I’d seen it many times before but today it was bathed in late-afternoon light reflected down into the highrise canyon from the windows of an office building. I paused and began thinking about how I could use the location for an interesting portrait if I was lucky enough to meet a stranger who was not in too much of an end-of-day rush. I took a test photo of my own hand to see how the light would work out and was satisfied with the potential.

I hung around the area longer than is my usual, scanning the faces of passers-by, most of whom seemed in a hurry to get home at the end of their day. Just then, I saw this man and his friend coming my way and I thought he would make both an interesting person to meet and an interesting portrait. To my relief, he listened to my request with a friendly, attentive look on his face and his reaction was “Why not? Sure.” His friend confirmed that he didn’t mind being delayed for a few minutes. Just then, the light shifted and I wasn’t sure if it would still work but we proceeded after a handshake. Meet Ken.

Taking the photos was pretty straightforward and Ken was motivated to do whatever I needed for my project. I explained that nothing more was needed beyond assuming a position next to the wall and looking back over his shoulder into my camera lens. I added in a full-length photo of Ken mimicking the stair-climbing men with hats painted on the wall. I showed him the photos and he was surprised and pleased. I told him I always offer to send copies to the people I meet and it would be my thanks for his having joined my project. He said he might be able to use the photo as an interesting profile shot. I said that would please me.

Photos taken and reviewed, we exchanged contact information and chatted. Ken is 38 and explained he is Sri-Lankan/Canadian. I asked if he was born in Sri Lanka and he said “Not really. I was born just down the street from here.” This is so typical of Toronto where people come from all over the world to start new lives, and yet proudly wear their multicultural identity to varying degrees. Ken explained that this is just his second day on a new job and he was hired by the man who was patiently waiting while Ken and I chatted. They are both working as data analysts in the advertising industry and have worked together in the past but Ken has just rejoined that profession. “I’m also an illustrator” he volunteered. “I’ve actually got two careers.” I was interested, especially considering how different the two seemed. Ken illustrates children’s books and is represented by a publisher in the United Kingdom. I commented that my wife is also an artist who has considered venturing into children’s books in her retirement. It’s a small world. The greatest challenge Ken has experienced? “I guess that would be my divorce.” He looked thoughtful for a moment and followed up with “But that’s in the past. Now my current partner and I are expecting a baby very soon!” Ken’s excitement was written on his face.

I knew that Ken and his friend were on their way home and I had already delayed them enough. I too was due home, so we gave each other a warm handshake and parted company. I thanked Ken’s friend for his patience and wish Ken well in the new job and in fatherhood. He wished me luck with my project.

Thank you Ken for taking a few minutes to meet and to tell me a bit about yourself for my Human Family photography project. It was a pleasure meeting you.

This is my 177th submission to The Human Family Group on Flickr.

I've been so busy I had forgotten how fun and relaxing it is to redress your dolls up. Georgie's going for the librarian look in this one! Another quick iPhone shot~

Day 318 of 366.

Five of my Kens in various tuxedos labeled by year. The tuxes are from different eras and all made differently thru the years. Only the original 1962 version (which I don't have) was made as separate garments like real clothes.

-Ken dear...you're not supposed to...oh never mind...

The body is from one of the medium-dark color tone Darius'. The ken head is brighter than the body, as it has a bit more caramel in the color tone. But, it will work for now, asI am not likely to find an affordable better matching FR head for it and I have another Darius already.
