Works by KAWS (Brian Donelly) and Keith Haring at the National Gallery of Victoria, in Melbourne, Australia. Haring was the first artist to create a work on the NGV Water Wall back in 1984, re-created here.

I thought the solid colors and simple figures in Keith Haring’s art could be ported over well to a Lego mosaic, and I’m happy with the result using his work Dance II.
Saw this embroidered design of the Statue of Liberty by artist Keith Haring on the back of a jacket when I went shopping in Santa Barbara two weeks ago. It's appropriate to post this today (August 21, 2017). This is going to be an interesting day in the United States. Not only will we have a solar eclipse later today, but the President will give a speech on television tonight.

Keith Haring was an inspiration and the artist that painted this wall caught his style. However if it was a genuine Haring I don't think you would drill fire extinguishers into the art. My wife and I saw an exhibition of Haring work and it is so unique and unusual on such a grand scale it was well worth the holiday in Holland alone.
Keith Haring was a social activist in New York and was born in 1958. His work when seen live made me feel how easy it would be to copy is work, however it was surprisingly complex and the scale of his art showed the genius he was. Sadly in 1990 he died of AIDS but his wonderful work is copied thoughtful the world by interior designer’s. His legacy continues and if you get a chance of seeing his paintings for real you will not be disappointed and hopefully creatively inspired like the artist in our local cafe.

Luna Luna was an open-air museum and amusement park in Hamburg, West Germany that ran from June 4 to August 31, 1987; it was rediscovered and relaunched as a touring exhibition in 2023. Curated by Austrian artist André Heller, it was an attempt to "create a travelling terrain of modern art, that in the centuries-old principle of the fairground involves people of all ages and educational levels in playful acts". Heller commissioned around 30 contemporary artists to design the attractions, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Salvador Dalí, David Hockney, Kenny Scharf, Roland Topor, Jean Tinguely, and Sonia Delaunay. After decades in storage, the works were restored and new works were commissioned for Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy, which embarked on a global tour in 2023 with funding from DreamCrew.

Stedelijk museum Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Municipal Museum Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Keith Haring was originally seen as graffiti art on New York City streets and subway stations. His main source of inspiration was pop art.
Keith was known, among other things, for his social activism and engagement with the political climate in the eighties.
The above work is an early edition of the Free South Africa series, which depicts the struggle against institutionalized racial segregation. The black majority fights and conquers the oppressive white minority; these lopsided power relations are reflected in the size of the black and white figure. Approximately 20,000 posters from this series were distributed at New York City's anti-apartheid rally in 1985.
