In the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, the stainless steel Empire Diner was built by a dining car company in the 1940s. In 2018 Brazilian Eduardo Kobra painted the mural on the wall above it, depicting a "Mount Rushmore" of modern artists: Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Because of Covid, as with many restaurants in NYC, the diner's capacity has been at least doubled by outdoor seating.
A piece inspired by the work of Keith Haring. Look him up, he's got some nice stuff like this!
From my art class this year.
Painted by Keith Haring in 1986. Seen coming out of the Bronx on the highway Feb 2007. Photographed badly out of the window.
This is a tribute to Banksy, Keith Haring and Kate Moss.

Luna Luna was an open-air museum and amusement park in Hamburg, West Germany that ran from June 4 to August 31, 1987; it was rediscovered and relaunched as a touring exhibition in 2023. Curated by Austrian artist André Heller, it was an attempt to "create a travelling terrain of modern art, that in the centuries-old principle of the fairground involves people of all ages and educational levels in playful acts". Heller commissioned around 30 contemporary artists to design the attractions, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Salvador Dalí, David Hockney, Kenny Scharf, Roland Topor, Jean Tinguely, and Sonia Delaunay. After decades in storage, the works were restored and new works were commissioned for Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy, which embarked on a global tour in 2023 with funding from DreamCrew.

Flop Shop - Hard Discount of Fine Arts

Today I went to the Keith Haring Show exhibition in Milan.
At the end of the exhibition I was impressed by this picture.
It was the very last one of the show.
I stared at it for minutes and minutes coming back to it several times.
It was an unfinished work of the 1989, the year before he died of AIDS.
The painted area was only 1/4 of the whole picture, in the upper left corner.
The thickness of the painted zone was almost touchable.
The rest was the rough canvas.
Big drops of painting went from the crinkled and thick edges of the painted zone down till the bottom of the canvas.
The color was silver and purple, which I never saw before in any of his works, so full of primary colors.
I immediatly reminded that purple is the color for funerals in our liturgy.
I think he wanted to express his feeling for his premature and expected death with this work.
In this sense I think this unfinish work is a complete work and a masterpiece at the same time.
