(35/365) This will have to do for photos today, I'm recovering from cataract surgery this morning and still woozy from the anesthetic. It is a decorative kale plant for 119 pictures in 2019 #83 "plants in pots".
Nature’s continual pattern, captured from our organic garden.
Letting our Kale go to seed, so that we don’t have to continually buy new seeds…
A popular vegetable in Thailand - it is easily found at every market along with lemon grass which you can see at the back of the picture
Much of the kale at Lexington Community Farm is doing well. I enjoy trying to capture its rich texture. Some of the plants aren't looking good, though, and I've been using their leaves as goat treats.
I enjoy trying to capture the intricate curls of kale. This one is growing at Lexington Community Farm, and is seen in a 30-frame focus stack. The chimney was once used for burning coal, to heat the farm's greenhouses.

Oh my, it was calm and sunny on the beach at lunchtime ... we'd had rain for most of the morning.

These poor aphids looked lost after I took their kale dinner away. Some of them found their way to my arugula...hmmm.
I had picked some old leaves of kale to use as goat treats, and Julianne knows that she'll get some if she does her cute head tilting. She likes to climb up on the wooden structure so she can look me in the eyes.
A member of the cabbage family, found on shingle beaches. Seen here in the Duke's Garden, part of Kew Gardens.
The plant is edible and is cultivated on a small scale in the UK as well as growing wild, however the mature leaves as seen here are not typically eaten, despite their close resemblance to cabbage - the most desirable part is apparently the new shoots, especially if forced. Wild stocks were severely reduced in Britain by forcing in situ and collecting for food until the practice was banned in the early 20th century.

This result started from the exact same configuration of superimposed ferris wheels as my previous post, Nexus: specifically three iterations of Karen's ferris wheel, one of which was upside down and distorted to keep the pattern from being too symmetrical. You can actually see the structure better in Nexus but it's obvious in the background here as well.
