I just got scans of the first roll of 110 film that I've shot since at least 1999...but the scans were full of problems, so I called the lab and they're gonna scan them again. So you'll have to wait until another day to see them, which is fine because this is probably the first you've heard of it, anyway.
This appears to be a French fishing boat, heading out to sea in the commune of Courseulles-sur-Mer, whence we stayed for two days on this trip in 2008.

Le cimetière militaire canadien de Bény-sur-Mer est un cimetière militaire canadien de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, situé à Reviers, dans le département du Calvados, au nord-ouest de Caen en Basse-Normandie. Dans ce cimetière reposent principalement des soldats canadiens tués lors des premières semaines de la bataille de Normandie en juin et début juillet 1944.
Bény-sur-Mer fut créé comme cimetière permanent pour regrouper les dépouilles des soldats canadiens qui avaient été enterrés temporairement dans des endroits dispersés, souvent proches du lieu où ils étaient tombés. Comme pour les autres cimetières militaires en Normandie, la France a accordé une concession perpétuelle au Canada sur le terrain occupé par le cimetière. Le cimetière abrite 2 049 tombes, très principalement celles de soldats de la 3e division canadienne et de quinze aviateurs

Went to the Juno Beach Pier early this morning... pitch black early, with a couple of shutterbug friends. I had this exact picture in my head when I went out to shoot. This nighttime HDR photo came out much better than expected. The Canon 5D MK2 does an excellent job underneath low light conditions. This was the one reason I upgraded to this camera.

By now you're probably thinking all I shoot is HDR... well I do, but not all photos look good in HDR. Especially with a scene that doesn't take full advantage of high dynamic range. This particular photo doesn't, mainly because there wasn't any detail or color in the sky. And even if there was, this scene would definietly be better without it. Like black and white photography, not ever photo will look good in B&W. To excel as a photographer, learning to see which style suites a photo best is very important.

It's been a while since I've photographed the Juno Beach Fishing Pier. I decided to go for a quick visit this morning because I didn't feel like driving far due to the gloomy weather. I was hoping the clouds would clear up before sunrise but that certainly didn't happen as you can see here. I have a feeling this week is not going to be good for taking colorful photographs.

This image was created at low tide hence the lack of drama from the ocean during this
tropical depression. It is amazing to me how something this large can be washed ashore
but left standing erect.

A female Loggerhead Turtle came ashore during the predawn hours and found a spot under the Juno Beach Pier. She created a nest, moving the sand away and desposited her eggs before covering it and heading back to the ocean.

Another take on the menacing clouds and fiery sunrise that illuminated the Juno Beach Pier a couple of mornings ago. Oddly enough the dark skies parted without a drop of rain falling, making way for a perfect day.

'Pükalāni' is the Hawaiian word for 'hole in the sky'. Similarily, the puka shells used to make necklaces were given the name 'puka' because of the center holes they had. On this morning, there was a brilliant 'puka in the sky' beaming light over the Juno Beach Pier and the rough seas beneath it.

Photo couleur prise d'un étage d'une maison rue de Bayeux à Creully.
De nombreux véhicules dont une ambulance Humber au premier plan, des civils et des militaires, un drapeau français sur une façade à gauche.
Creully a été libérée le 6 juin par les Canadiens débarqués à Juno mais des troupes britanniques débarquées à Gold y font leur jonction.
En bas à droite un panneau FDS avec une Croix-Rouge, Field Dressing Station poste de soins de campagne canadien.
