This is my friend and colleague Joe. In between being a clinical oncologist, singer and songwriter, he can also turn his hand to a bit of male modelling!
Joe and marie have been coming here for 8 years now. They sure know where the food is. They like to eat the left overs.
I met Joe and his wife at the Napanee car show. I thought he would make a good street portrait. He was happy to pose and agreed to take off his sunglasses. His wife said he is often mistaken for a fellow on the TV show Canadian Picker. She was clearly pleased that I found him photo-worthy. They both approved of the portrait and we wished one another a fun day at the car show.

Earlier today the England cricket captain, Joe Root notched up his forth double test century. He was the last man out for 228 in Englands first innings total of 421. Over the last two years Joe has struggled by his exceptional standards and although he has made a reasonable number of half centuries through this period he has fallen short of big scores. This massive innings against Sri Lanka took Joe past the all time test totals of two greats, Garfield Sobers and Mark Waugh. Although having now accrued the 29th most test runs in the all time cricket list Sheffield born Joe is still only aged 30. Quite how far up those standings he will move only time will tell.
This picture was taken during an England versus Pakistan test match at Headingley in 2019 and shows Joe striking another boundary. Joe also scored with 45 that day and helped England win by an innings and 55 runs.

What a day to be fortunate enough to be near this wonderful man! He spoke at a Stop and Shop Worker's rally in Boston today!
Yesterday I visited my dear friends Ottavia and Joe at their home in North York. Joe was moving a table, which he had previously built, so we could have espresso. I call him St. Joe, because he now handles all the household duties.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your Sunday and week ahead.
We shared a house for a few years, actually more then one house, and drank a lot of booze and did a lot of drugs. We shared a lot of music, a few women and a lot of the 60's/70's together. I moved on and out in 1976 and in about 1987 I saw him in Colorado but he was a drugged out hippie and I was now a "suit". I know it was him but he was far gone into that twilight of hard drugs and he pretented not to recognize me. A mutual friend of ours called me about 5 years ago and told me that Joe had killed himself.
Having moved a month or so ago I did find bits and pieces of film and slides that I didn't know I had and today in the darkroom I was surprised to see this image coming up through the chemical bath.
I actually remember this day and Angie putting the flower in his hair right before I took this picture.
Joe, it has been a long time since I have thought about you but I wish you well where ever you are and I am sorry I wasn't there to stop you.
words from an email from another one who shared that time and those places with Joe and I
"I wasn't prepared for the depth of this photo or my feelings for Joe. Her name is Angie. He was a beautiful man but so lost in so many ways. Just before he died I had realized that he was the brother of a woman that I worked with. I got his address and wrote to him but the letter was returned "not at this address". He had a daughter who looked just like him and was married to her mother. I thought that must mean that his life had changed somewhat. His sister Pam insisted that the address was correct so I could only conclude that he didn't want to hear from me. You really caught him in this shot. I feel that he is looking back at me from the page."
Say hi to Joe Banana piano bar master at Luigi's Italian Bistro in Somewhereville. Always willing to take requests, the one song he won't play is Chopsticks, unless the request is accompanyed with some hefty cash in the tip jar.

The Joe's Tavern neon sign at 25th Street and 10th Avenue. The other side of the sign looked like this in 2021.
The tavern opened in the 1940s or 1950s. It was called Joe and Mike's at the time and you can make out the "S" ghost as the last letter of the vertical sign. The tavern was seized by the city for failure to pay taxes in 1987 and it has sat mothballed ever since. The building was sold by the city to a non-profit housing developer in 2016 to building affordable housing but that obviously hasn't happened yet.
Was treated to seeing Joe Nichols Country Music super star this past weekend...a night time outdoor event with my son and a friend...such a sweet and talented man...that Native American heritage shines through with his beautiful strong features...will post more images over the next few days...wishing one and all a great week...stay blessed...challenging holding this lens in a sea of people..but it was great and these turned out surprisingly well considering three hours with a handheld camera!
I saw this picture of Joe and Garbo and I automatically thought of this baby picture of Joe. He was adorable then, and he's hot now, so I figured I'd make this cute little comparison thing.
Like it? Comments are loveee! :-)

I visited my dear friends, Ottavia and Joe yesterday and went upstairs to view some of the many wooden things , mainly churches, that Joe has built over the years. The take up 3 bedrooms. His fingers are swollen but he somehow manages to still make simpler projects.
