The Jersey Tiger (Euplagia quadripunctaria) is a moth of the family Arctiidae. It is found in Central Europe, south west England, the Channel Islands, Southern Europe, West Russia, South Urals, Asia Minor, the Near East, Caucasus, South Turkmenistan, Iran and Rhodes.
The wingspan is 52–58 mm. The moth flies from July to August depending on the location. They tend to fly close to Eupatorium cannabinum, where they are hard to notice there because of their camouflage.
Large groups of the rare subspecies C. q. rhodosensis can be found in Petaloudes, on Rhodes on occasion, seeking shelter from the summer heat.
The caterpillars feed on Eupatorium cannabinum, Nettle, Lamium, Plantago, Glechoma hederacea, but at times also shrubs such as Rubus.

Route 520 in Marlboro, New Jersey
Marlboro State Psychiatric Hospital opened in 1931 to relieve crowding in existing state and psychiatric facilities. Unlike Trenton State and Greystone Park with their imposing central buildings, Marlboro was built on the cottage plan, with smaller, freestanding dormitories and treatment buildings.
The patient cemetery opened in 1931. A 12-foot by 20-foot pavilion lists the names of almost a thousand patients buried in this cemetery between 1931 and 1960.
The pavilion was put in place in 1991, when the hospital celebrated its 60th anniversary. The names of the buried are listed on bronze plaques, so that they can be matched to the numbered graves. In 1997 Monmouth County bought the land on the south side of Route 520 from the State of New Jersey for $4 million, but the cemetery was excluded from this transaction.
Marlboro State Psychiatric Hospital closed on June 30, 1998. Its patient records are maintained by Trenton Psychiatric Hospital.
Another full bitter sweet cider apple
Seems to be popular with birds and wasps already in August - there must be sugar in it already.

Gun battery Lothringen by Noirmont Point, was the only gun battery on the Channel Island of Jersey, built by the German Kriegsmarine. The guns were four 150 mm. German naval guns from 1917. They were originally produced by the firm Krupp AG for reinforcement of several German warships, including S.M.S. LOTHRINGEN. The range of the guns was 18 km and they became operational in the summer of 1941.
The Germans had already planned that these guns were to be replaced with more modern guns, but the new guns never showed up. The old guns from the 1917 remained operational to the end of the war.
In the spring of 1943 the Germans began construction of a large command bunker in two levels. This was completed in summer 1944 and is today open to the public as a museum.
South of the guns the Germans started building a control bunker in 1943, called MP.1 (Marine Peilstand und Meßstellung 1). It was part of a network of bunkers around the island. By using the radar in two or more of these bunkers, the location of enemy ships could be triangulated, which allowed the gunners to more accurately calculate their fire. Nine of these bunkers were scheduled to be built, but only four were completed by the end of the war.

The New York Mets are a professional baseball team based in the borough of Queens in New York City, New York. The Mets were founded as an expansion franchise in 1960 and began play in 1962. The club came into existence as a replacement for New York's two previous National League teams, the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants, who relocated to California following the 1957 season. As an interesting historical note, there was an earlier baseball club called the New York Metropolitans which played in the short-lived American Association during the 1880s. While the defunct 19th century team is not related to the current incarnation of the Mets, its moniker did serve as the inspiration for the modern day National League franchise. For the first two years of its existence, the team played its home games at the historic Polo Grounds in Upper Manhattan, which it shared with the New York Jets. In 1964, both teams moved into newly constructed Shea Stadium, where the Mets stayed through the 2008 season. In 2009, the club moved into Citi Field, located adjacent to the former site of Shea Stadium. During their history, the Mets have won two World Series titles (1969 and 1986), four National League pennants (1969, 1973, 1986, 2000), and five National League East titles (1969, 1973, 1986, 1988, 2006). The Mets also qualified for the postseason as the National League Wild Card team in 1999 and 2000. The Mets have appeared in more World Series — four — than any other expansion team in Major League Baseball history. Their two championships equal the tally of the Toronto Blue Jays and Florida Marlins for the most titles among expansion teams. The Mets held the New York baseball attendance record for 29 years. They broke the Yankees' 1948 record by drawing nearly 2.7 million in 1970. The Mets broke their own record five times before the Yankees took it back in 1999.
