Mothrecording.org shows a string of connected sightings on the South Kent coast from Dover to Rye in the first two decades of the twenty-first century. These are disconnected from the block of sightings in South-West England and so probably came from the Continent directly.

This specimen was seen at Temple Ewell East Kent feeding on Hemp Agrimony.

I was on Jersey for a wedding, staying in a hotel with this as my view (to wake me up), and I just had my little compact Ricoh with me. After taking a few shots through the window, I wanted to get a shot without the hotel furniture in the foreground . So I climbed out of the window (just), took some photos (unfortunately with the sunbeams gone), and looked for a way back into the hotel at a little after 5 o'clock..

When I failed to find an entry, I tried to climb back through my window -- at my age -- no fool like an old fool -- etc etc. I survived......

I wish I was better at post processing. I feel there is a really good photo there somewhere. If I work it out, I'll replace it. I love the way the palm echoes the sunbeams.
