An Edwardian picnic in Jersey the Channel Islands, some nets for ctching shrimps and a small copper can rests on one of the rocks, these are replicated today as local souviners.
Great Falls of the Passaic River - 77 feet right in the urban industrial city of Paterson in Passaic County, New Jersey. The falls and surrounding area are protected as part of the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park
The sculpture was discovered at La Saline quarry and was re-cut by Mr Frank Gautier at the request of the Jersey Public Sculpture Trust.
It was displayed in the Beresford Street fish market and in 2015 it was moved here with the Trust's permission.

Roses do grow in Florida but I have yet to see any, in public or private gardens, to rival the roses of home. I guess it has a lot to do with the combination of unremitting heat for a good part of the year in these parts, long stretches of no rain and piss poor soil .

Jersey Spring is on a bush walking track beside Lady Carrington Drive in the Royal National Park, near Sydney.
The permanent spring feeds into two sandstone troughs, which were built in 1892 to provide water for horses and people traveling along the road. The troughs are still fed by the same spring today, although the water is no longer suitable for drinking.

This part of the coastline is less scenic. Jersey is covered in reminders of its occupation by Nazi Germany during World War Two. This sea wall was built by the Germans during that time.
