First shot at Shaab Ruhr Umm Gamar. Still getting to grips with the 15mm fisheye and strobes. At some 21 metres of depth. Really nice really with lots of diverse animals to see. Also the site of a sunken police patrol boat.

Javan Plover (Charadrius javanicus) is a small bird, similar in size and structure to seebohmi and Malaysian Plover, and distinctly smaller than ‘White-faced’ Plover. This combination of characters eliminated Javan Plover from those taxa under consideration.

Most Abundant Bird in Singapore in MYBC 2001 was the Javan Myna, a bird from Java first detected in Singapore in the 1920s, with 1,152 birds. Nature Society (Singapore) Bird Group.
The Common Myna or Indian Myna (Acridotheres tristis) also sometimes spelled Mynah, is a member of family Sturnidae, (starlings and mynas) native to Asia. An omnivorous open woodland bird with a strong territorial instinct, the Myna has adapted extremely well to urban environments. The myna has been introduced in many other parts of the world and its distribution range is on the increase.[2] It is a serious threat to the ecosystems of Australia. The Common Myna is an important motif in Indian culture and appears both in Sanskrit and Prakrit literature.

Of course what you see in this picture is the giant moray (Gymnothorax javanicus), but pay more attention to the to small fish that are right by him, those colored in bright blue. Those guys are cleaning wrasses, and their function is to clean inside and out any fish that comes along from parasites, infections, diseases, and remains of their previous meal in between their teeth. They're of extreme importance to the ecosystem and has been proved that if the reef had to be deprived of their services then all fish's health would be affected. - Bodu Huraa, Maldives.
