rockin the "illumine" theme on my newly jailbroken phone. rejoice.
made several illumine icons for apps that didnt have them: zipcar, squareball, mr aahh, mystery mania, fling.
a recent snapshot of my iPhone config. i love the icon setup now. so much easier to use than the stock format - namely contacts now at the bottom. sooo much easier... w00t, etc.
have never done this before as my previous one was a jailbroken one from LA
and it would just brick it.
but still , with this officially unlocked one, was still a bit anxious.

Works great and surprisingly playable; I played the entire game through again on the plane.
Video of Quptas, the 3-month-old husky, at Carl Schurz Park during the NYC Huskies Group meetup. Cameos by Ninja and Epic. This 'video' was taken with my jailbroken iPhone, meaning that it was taken with a device not even meant to record video. So, please understand that it's basically a collection of photos strung together, synced with recorded sound.
Testing out Dell Voice (in Canada) - calling myself from my Google Voice number - which btw, spells, GO VEGAN.
To me, it looks a little cluttered, but, in the spirit of Leopard's Release, for now, I'm going to set my iPhone to this theme.

Seeing as there aren't ANY photos of a Griffin iCLEAR case for iPhone on Flickr I decided to take a few.
Finally, that Hackintosh used mainly for watching movies gave its place to the teeny tiny AppleTV 2nd Generation.
That little piece of plastic is capable of only 720p, but that appears to be the only downside for me. My media hub is the 24/7 operating iMac on the other side of the room, that streams through iTunes and Plex.app every media file available on it.
The AppleTV is updated to the latest version and is jailbroken to support media files other than those streamed from iTunes.
Mail, Maps, Weather, Sudoku, Lights Off, Notes, Terminal... I now officially love it more than ever.
Yes, that is an iPhone. No, it's not mine. I happen to work at one of Apple's larger competitors in the mobile phone market, and of course we have some iPhones going around that we can rip off... erm... be inspired by. I was also inspired by this picture by MatthwJ.
I've played with one some time ago, both back then, and now, I was very impressed at just how slick it feels to use. Although it's been jailbroken and hacked backwards and forwards (not my doing either) I haven't been able to get it to connect to the network, so I haven't tested the call and sms features.
Lighting info: Ambient light (spot metered on the iPhone screen) 1/30 at f/5.6. SB-600 zoomed to 85 mm with 12" snoot at 1/16 power.

Note to tech-savy tourists-of-Mexico: a jailbroken iPhone with a Telcel simcard can come in very, very handy when visiting Mexico! The GPS/geolocating could be better, but having the iPhone helps a ton. Examples:
Calling taxi dispatchers instead of taking a chance with a street taxi after midnight in an unknown neighborhood.
Finding restaurants when all you have is the most vague travel guide book in the world ("The restaurant is down the street from the intersection." Down which street?! In which direction?!)
Catching your taxi driver when you notice that he is driving in circles. Then showing him where he should be going by pointing it out on Google Maps.

I have very limited internet at the moment... I moved into a new place and the ADSL might take a while to get installed. So for now I'm connecting through a jailbroken iPhone. It works but there's pretty limited 3G here!
As I was walking into the kitchen just a few minutes ago, I saw out the windows that big, fluffy snowflakes were falling, so I got my iPhone and tried to take a couple pictures. The pictures weren't doing it justice, so I opened Cycorder (an app that runs on a jailbroken iPhone) and recorded a short video. :) Lucky, too, since the flurries stopped a short time after I shot the video. Oh well, we'll be getting dumped on with snow soon enough. :-/
And besides this being the first real flurries of the season, this is my first video posted on Flickr. Hope it turns out okay. :)
