Yesterday red, today blue? I wonder if I can fill the entire week with vibrant colors?
I've probably seen it a million times before. But when getting my lunch out of the fridge today, I noticed the plastic lid from the container had all these small little droplets that just looked so cool!
When I took to photographing it with a strobe, the color and detail really came to life. It was quite an unexpected surprise!

As another unexpected surprise, the amazing response to this photo!

Still not got a 3G iPhone. :(
Also, pics of screens are annoyingly hard to take because the camera insists on focusing on every pixel, which is annoying.
Note: I don't use this theme anymore, and I don't have any of the icons or anything saved on my PC. If you want them, you'll have to go through the "Deep" thread on MacThemes2.net - linked below in the comments. Please don't ask me for them, because I do not have them!
Ti nspire cx, one of the best calculators out there once you get the hang of it jailbroken to play gba games on it
My jailbroken Kindle Paperwhite displays 600x800 PNG screensavers. The catch is that they're 16-level (4-bit) grayscale, so dithering is required to avoid banding. The lightest tone is also about -2 EV compared to my laptop screen.

Got my hairpin legs back from Champion Powder Coating. Still not sure about my decision about straight hairpin legs since my last ones were angled. But I'm sure it's just a matter of me getting used to them. Tabletop is an IKEA Hilver, legs were welded for me by someone in SJ using IKEA Adils mounts.
As for the workspace, this is slightly different than what I posted several years back. It now has a dusty (sorry haha) 2.3ghz i7 Quad Core Mac mini running 10.10.4 with 8gb of RAM, a 250gb Samsung 850 EVO SSD and a 750GB WD Black that's plugged into a 27" Cinema Display. Despite it's age, I've been pretty happy with the combo and don't see myself replacing it for a while. Mobile devices are a 5s and a Mini 2, both 16gb and running jailbroken 8.3. Would get a Mini 3 just for the Touch ID's visual consistency with my phone (I can be a little obsessive compulsive lol).
Sound still mostly comes out of my mini toslink connected iPod Hi-Fi that I probably will never get rid of, but I also use a Meridian Explorer paired with Grado SR-325s (classic flat cups, with newer drivers since one of the originals blew out last year). I keep the remote on my desk so I can adjust the volume and change tracks while I'm reading in my Modernica Rocker (hey, at least it's fiberglass). The long USB cable on the floor is for when I want to lay in bed and read with my headphones on.
My Aluminum headphone stand and mouse pad are Elago, which I think are better looking and better built than my previous Just Mobile ones. The OWC Mercury Elite Pro HDD enclosures contain 1TB 7200RPM Travelstars and are rotated with one being left at work. The Magic Mouse and Bluetooth Keyboard are incredibly old. I also have misc. peripherals and what not on the side, like a wired keyboard and mighty Mouse, a bare DVD drive with a SATA to USB adapter (for Netflix movies) and an iFixit toolkit.
And for those wondering, the beer is 21st Amendment Brew Free or Die IPA on a Supreme Fuck Em! Coaster :)

I am perhaps one of the most blessed geeks in the world. I own two of the world's most sought after, and svelte, phones - the Apple iPhone (mine is unlocked and runs on the MTN and Vodacom networks in South Africa), and a Nokia E90 communicator.
I used my iPhone as my primary telephone and PDA (personal digital assistant ) for some months. It is smooth, it works well, and there is a huge 'hacker' community out there creating everything from games to tools for your shopping ! However, the downside is that is essentially a closed device (you can not use it with a bluetooth keyboard, or use it as a modem for your Mac!) The iPod features (particularly video) are unsurpassed! But, it is not a business device! Text entry is a bit hit and miss, and you can't film video or send and receive MMS.
My Nokia E90, however, is ALL business!!! It has an incredible keyboard, it JUST WORKS! The Camera is a REAL 3MP camera with a flash, it has wifi, built in GPS with SA Maps, and it has an HSDPA modem (i.e., 3G and a bit speeds) that can function as a modem for your PC or Mac via bluetooth or the cable. A huge bonus for me (as a Mac user) is that it syncs via iSync with Apple's address book and iCal!
I have done some trips where I have managed to do everything without a laptop and just with my Nokia E90 and a foldable bluetooth keyboard. Web browsing is not as smooth as the iPhone, and Video and MP3's are not even worth mentioning - although I have used the FM Radio quite often to fill a few minutes while waiting for a delayed flight (not that I am doing any traveling since I broke my leg just over a week ago).
The final clincher for me is that the Nokia posts to flickr and blogger via email without creating 'false line breaks'. The iPhone, on the other hand, seems to mess with he formatting (creating spaces, wrapping lines in the middle of sentences etc.) You can read my blog at www.spirituality.org.za/blogger.html
So, for now, the Nokia is my primary 'work' phone because it simply works! When the days get busy and I don't have time to mess with fiddly keyboards and an interface that still needs some work, then the Nokia wins hands down! However, my iPhone goes everywhere with me (I use it to listen t music, podcasts, and browse the web via wifi in a hotspot - but it no longer has a sim card in it. It could actually just be a an iPod touch for how I use it) Together with those two I carry a Palm Treo 750 (with the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade). This has my private sim card in it, it also has my Bible software (including Greek and Hebrew), and it has the best keyboard of all of my phones (but the worst operating system, camera, and doesn't connect to my Mac).
10 years ago, I had many original 2g iPhone on my desk, 10 here in this photo, one for me and for friends and family, for the iPhone 2G work in my country they have be jailbroken and then manually unlocked.
I still have an original box of one of these in the photos, but not the iPhone anymore.
Got some more to suggest? Btw, recognize the background?
Software version: 2.1
Jailbroken with: QuickPwn by iPhone Dev team.
Fav apps: all of them!
Very very frequently used apps: iTunes Remote, Nemus Sync, Cycorder, Facebook, VoiceNotes, Fring, Youtube, Wifi Toggle, SMS, Snapture, Phone and iGolf( careful with this guy, I threw my iPhone a couple of times playing this one: top score = 611 yards :} )
update: I left out QuickGold (launch apps, search bookmarks, web history, SMS etc). This is an unbelievably cool app; think Launchy, Enso or QuickSilver for iPhone and you get the picture.
Here's an iPod Touch seen at the 5th Ave. Apple Store in Manhattan that's been jailbroken and has a book reader installed.

Late last night while I was surfing on my iPod touch I saw the story about the easy, one-click way people could jailbreak their iPhone or iPod touch, just by going to jailbreakme.com. I verified that the exploit wouldn't brick my device and could be easily uninstalled by doing a restore. Then I went to the site and okayed the AppSnapp install. It was easy as pie!
Currently I only have the e-book reader app installed, since it seemed like the other apps I tried wouldn't run on the iPod touch. But there is an update available, and someone on Pownce said that if I restore my iPod and install AppSnapp again, I should be able to run any of the apps, so I will be experimenting with it later tonight. I still don't think I'll be able to run most of the apps, but I'll try and see what happens.

With an Apple TV you can play video, music and movies from your iPhone, iPad via AirPlay or browse the myriad of apps and games available from the Apple TV's dedicated App Store - well, at least with the fourth-generation Apple TV anyway. Older variants (Apple TV 1, 2 and 3) are somewhat less impressive, only offering media playback and not much else. But a jailbroken Apple TV is a whole different ball game. Once you have jailbreak software running on an Apple TV you can install new apps, services and systems on the Apple TV that make it far more interesting than the device Apple sells. apple tv 4th generation, apple tv 3rd generation, apple tv 4, apple tv 3 jailbreak, apple tv jailbreak, apple tv commercial, apple tv setup, apple tv,apple tv review, apple tv apps, apple tv amazon prime, apple tv box, apple tv bluetooth, apple tv best apps, apple tv bluetooth speakers, apple tv bluetooth headphones, apple tv box review, apple tv box jailbreak, apple tv background, apple tv channels, apple tv connect to tv, apple tv connect to iphone, apple tv comparison, apple tv cable, apple tv commercial 2016,apple tv connect to mac, apple tv demo, apple tv demo 2016, apple tv disney infinity, apple tv external hard drive, apple tv ethernet connection, apple tv features, apple tv first generation, apple tv features 2016, apple tv fourth generation, apple tv facetime, apple tv gen 3,apple tv generation 4, apple tv generation 1,apple tv gen 3 jailbreak, apple tv how to use, apple tv how to connect, apple tv ios 10, apple tv iphone mirroring, apple tv iphone remote, apple tv internet browser, apple tv ijustine, apple tv itunes, apple tv jailbreak 3rd generation, apple tv jailbroken, apple tv jailbreak kodi, apple tv jailbreak 4th generation, apple tv jailbreak 7.2.1, apple tv jeremih, apple tv jailbreak tweaks, apple tv just dance, apple tv jailbreak 2016, apple tv kodi install, apple tv kodi 2016, apple tv keynote, apple tv keyboard, apple tv kodi build, apple tv keeps crashing, apple tv keynote 2016, apple tv kodi review, apple tv kodi addons, apple tv live tv, apple tv live stream, apple tv lost remote, apple tv lamarr wilson, apple tv local channels, apple tv lag, apple tv light flashing, apple tv live sports, apple tv live stream player, apple tv laptop, l'apple tv, apple tv mirroring, apple tv mirroring iphone 6, apple tv music, apple tv model a1469, apple tv mount, apple tv minecraft, apple tv mirroring macbook pro, apple tv macbook mirroring, apple tv movie box, apple tv monitor, apple tv not working, apple tv nfl, apple tv new, apple tv no remote, apple tv not connecting to wifi, apple tv new update, apple tv not turning on, apple tv nba 2k16, apple tv not responding, apple tv nfl game pass, apple tv os 10, apple tv optical audio setup, apple tv or fire tv, apple tv oui, apple tv on iphone, apple tv only shows computers and settings, apple tv overview, apple tv para que sirve, apple tv remote, apple tv remote app, apple tv review 2016, apple tv remote app iphone, apple tv remote battery, apple tv restore, apple tv review 4th gen, apple tv reset, apple tv remote pairing, apple tv r, apple tv screensavers, apple tv setup 2016, apple tv setup without remote, apple tv sports, apple tv time warner cable, apple tv unboxing, apple tv unboxing and setup, apple tv unboxing and review, apple tv update 2016, apple tv unlocked, apple tv 4 demo, apple tv 5th generation, apple tv 5th generation unboxing, apple tv 5th generation release date, apple tv 5 review, apple tv 5th generation review, apple tv 5.3, apple tv 6.2.1 jailbreak, apple tv 64, apple tv iphone 6, iphone 6 apple tv, apple iphone 6 tv ad,

Saurik (developer of Cydia package manager for jailbroken iPhones and more) released Veency yesterday. It's a native VNC server for the iPhone, allowing you to control your iPhone from your computer (or another iPhone even).
And as you can see, you can have some cool fun with it :D
I bit the bullet and updated my iPhone firmware to 1.1.3 today. Luckily, it all worked out: it's still a phone that works with Rogers, and I've got my own icons back on there (including the new iTunes icon I did this past week.)
Technical details:
Before I updated I was running firmware v1.1.1, with unlocked baseband 4.01.13_G. Since I bought my phone back in August, that means I was still on bootloader 3.9.
Starting with an activated, jailbroken & unlocked phone (without removing the hacks, essentially), I followed these instructions to a T (except I used ZiPhone 2.4, and stopped after Step E), and it all worked. Even the new map locator works as expected.
I did have to re-install the "non-legit" third party apps, but I didn't have to re-sync all my music and photos over; since iTunes handled the phone update, it was all there waiting for me. Nice. A far cry from the past "Option + Restore" update methods.
(None of the screenshot tools I'm aware of work with 1.1.3 yet however, so you get a photo instead of a direct screenshot)

I love my iPhone. So much so that I install pretty much every 3rd party application that is released. Eventually, as a result, the phone started crashing a lot. Finally I decided to restore(delete everything and re-install) the phone. Had a very stressful couple of hours today trying to do so. Since I have jailbroken, the warranty is void. So basically if something goes wrong with it, I'm screwed :-)
Nevertheless, I have successfully re-stored everything and the phone doesn't crash anymore. I'm resisting the urge to install 3rd party applications( which are just awesome, by the way). Not sure how long I can hold back though... but for now, I'm happy that the phone back from the dead! Yaay! :-D
I'm looking for ideas on what to put up on the wall behind my MBP. Paintings, posters, flat screen? What do you think?
Mac setup consists of a $5 table, an older G5 imac mirrored onto a 24" Dell monitor. I've got my old 3rd gen ipod, a bent banker's lamp, Apple wireless keyboard, Logitech bluetooth mouse, an HTC flyer on a brass platestand (love this tablet...got it on the cheap with the stylus...kicks ass with the honeycomb update), kindle keyboard with jailbroken screensaver, drawing pencils wrapped inside a DIY leather sheath, happy buddha statue, empty crystal head vodka bottle that will house a plant soon, and a mini sago palm basking in the light.
