"Row, row, row your boat
gently across the lake.
Davy jones screamed crocodile,
I thought it was a fake!"
Made my Scott Blake :)
My new Jack Sparrow wig arrived yesterday (courtesy of the best Jack Sparrow costume designer in the world Mr. Scott Blake [costume & SFX designer for film & stage]) and today I had a chance to try it on. Keep in mind these are just a few quick shots and I did not use 2 trinkets that came with the wig and the double beard breads. The eyeliner was minimal and very simple just to showcase the wig. It's the 'On Stranger Tides' version and it is I swear exactly like the one Johnny uses on that movie. All the very same trinkets, bead strands and dreadlocks. Notice the hanging key, the celtic cross, all the same exact details. Unbelievably screen accurate. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Johnny actually got his from Scott... Needless to say, I couldn't be happier!

We found a sand volleyball court so it was only appropriate to recreate a scene from the movie where Jack Sparrow is reaching for his drink while on a beach.
This dude had the voice down too. Everyone at the con was talking about him.

I liked this Jack a lot. He nailed it without being exactly Johnny Depp's version - slightly different outfit, slightly different manner - but still awesome!
(Friday at SDCC 2009)
Quedé gratamente sorprendido con Piratas del Caribe. La vi una tarde de domingo, que pintaba para fome. Es más, me convencí de "visitar" el cine cuando me di cuenta que no veía una película hacía más de un año. Todo un record.
I love Jack Sparrow! I admit it! No characters in the past 20 years have moved me as much as he has. So much so that I decided that I should dress as Jack Sparrow for Ren Faire. And I think that I most certainly was a pirate in a past life! So I decided to pay homage to this vibrant character by getting his tattoo on my arm . . . with my own little twist. So this is the Jack Sparrow tattoo that he sports on his arm but I obviously changed the sparrow to a flying monkey. I am the devious monkey after all so it only seemed fitting to throw that in there.
Also, I edited these pics in such a way as to really exaggerate the ink to make the tattoos pop! :-)
