Captain Jack Sparrow. This is 3 exposures with -1+ stops bracketing, then Photomatix for HDR and tonemapping, and finally Photoshop for the finishing touches.
So this is the unedited version of yesterday's picture, featuring a bottle of lovely Tesco's brandy and a large breadknife from my kitchen.
The hair for the 366 was made up from about 5 different pictures of Captain Jack, with little bits snipped out and layered on top of each other. The beads in the hair are handy for covering up lazy blending (which is often the case when you need to get a picture done in an hour or two!). The cutlass was from a fancy dress site, and blurred to match the foreground blur, and the brandy label came from a vintage booze site. The hat and bandana were both put on separately, again to cover messiness at the top of the hair.
Finally it was taken into lightroom using the 300 preset, warmed up slightly, and had a cool filter layered on top of it. The last step was to add my favourite texture on overlay and erase it slightly around the main section of the picture.
In our Disney Photography group, there have been a lot of dark ride posts lately. I want to share one of my captures from Pirates of the Caribbean over in Magic Kingdom. This was the first time I got to shoot with a f/1.4 lens and the difference is remarkable. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy.

Was at the airport (LAX) today and saw this as a pleasant surprise: J. Depp's beautiful pirate face (I love that man!). Guess that's a sign that I need to be at Dland on Saturday for the premiere. ;)
Just a quick shot to make sure I captured this awesomeness.
May 20th cannot get here fast enough - super excited!
John Hammond: "All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked."
Ian Malcolm: "Yeah, but John, if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists."

[24 de Agosto. Santiago, Chile]
.
After seek refuge on the Casa Central of the Universidad de Chile and watch through the windows to the battle outside, for some reason I was on the roof with Jack Sparrow, waving his pirate flag and tried to maintain balance. All this in support of the demands that are required today by chilean people.
More than once time I heard on the sidewalk in front of some "Jack Sparrow I love you!".

This is an update for my LEGO IDEAS project: Pirates of the Caribbean Icons Collection. The update includes improvements on most of the models. The chest now has a more detailed and accurate interior, the builds of the chalices and the diary have been improved, decals have been placed on the book, the chalices, the compass, and the eye, and Minifigures have been added. If you like this project, then please use the link above to go to the project page and support it. Thank you! :)
She was so trilled to see what I brought for her today! She just adores Captain Jack Sparrow as you can see :)

I can never decide exactly how I feel about the addition of Captain Jack Sparrow to Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Some days I hate that POTC becomes a ride all about him, other days I don't mind it. This is mostly because I love Captain Jack Sparrow.
Regardless, having Captain Jack in the ride certainly makes for some challenging and fun photo opping.
Thanks for the comments, views, and favorites!
A shot of Jack Sparrow during the afternoon show. We caught this the day our girls had their Pirate Princess Makeover. After the "Pirate Parade", Captain Jack comes out for a little "Pirate Training" show. Despite both of our girls being kitted out in full on pirate regalia, neither were picked for the show. Not that it mattered, as Natasha just decided to charge the stage anyway and take her place with the boys. Tumblr
