- the Jack Johnson cd is possibly the best 33+ pence spent on a cd ( charity shop remainders from stock - 3 for a pound !!!
- the Music of Dingle - ( Ireland ) artists with links to Dingle, bought in Mazz's shop there , Magic! PLUS I know it's unfair to pick on one artist on there BUT Pauline Scanlon on it is MAGICAL from an album called Hush!!!!
- two Sheryl Crow Gems , though reviews were a touch critical ?!??? , I still like them , and they get played a lot is my only response !!!
- the Waifs, was mail order from the band in Oz, as not seen it in UK shops ( at the time )

.Well I can't give you everything you want. But I could give you what you thought you need. A map to keep beneath your seat...you'll read to me, in time I'll get you there. But fold it up so we don't find our way back soon, nobody knows we're here. We can park the van and walk to town. Find cheapest bottle of wine that we could find and talk about the road behind...
how getting lost is not a waste of time.... it's all for the sake of arriving with you.
Off work at 2:30.
Out with all my favorite girls tonight.
Vacation starts today.
Headed to Tahoe soon.
Had a blast yesterday.
I am still laughing.
Driving down WestCliff with the Vanagon door open.
Everyone need to do that.
So much to toast.
Can't wait to sit by the pool with Jack Johnson in my ears.

Title : Sitting, Waiting, Wishing.
Well I was sitting, waiting, wishing
You believed in superstitions
Then maybe you'd see the signs
The Lord knows that this world is cruel
I ain't the Lord, no I'm just a fool
Learning lovin' somebody don't make them love you
Must I always be waiting, waiting on you
Must I always be playing, playing your fool
I sang your songs, I danced your dance
I gave your friends all a chance
But putting up with them
Wasn't worth never having you
Maybe you've been through this before
But it's my first time so please ignore
The next few lines cause they're directed at you
I can't always be waiting, waiting on you
I can't always be playing, playing your fool
I keep playing your part
But it's not my scene
Want this plot to twist
I've had enough mystery
Keep building it up
Then shooting me down
But I'm already down
Just wait a minute
Just sitting, waiting
Just wait a minute
Just sitting, waiting
Well, if I was in your position
I'd put down all my ammunition
I'd wonder why'd it taken me so long
But Lord knows that I'm not you
And if I was, I wouldn't be so cruel
Cause waitin' on love aint so easy to do
Must I always be waiting, waiting on you
Must I always be playing, playing your fool
No, I can't I always be waiting, waiting on you
I can't always be playing, playing your fool
My first stop motion video.
and. it. was. hard.
but I had fun doing it. Surprisingly, I was pretty prepared after looking up some tips and working out the math of how many picture to fit.
It didn't out as good as I wanted it to and I made a lot of mistakes, but I am glad that I finished it and got some practice because I want to do more!
Is there a reason why flickr makes it sooo blurry?! It is annoying.
This is my brother and sister, Grayson and Ashlyn in our backyard!
[I love this song- it took me a long time to find one I wanted. It is "Supposed to Be" by Jack Johnson!]
I’ve got an angel
She doesn’t wear any wings
She wears a heart that could melt my own
She wears a smile that could make me want to sing
She gives me presents
With her presence alone
She gives me everything I could wish for
She gives me kisses on the lips just for coming home
Lyrics from Angel, Jack Johnson
well, here's my #3 jj tribute. sorry if you're not a fan. guess you can just move on then. i'm enjoying this lil theme for now. it's keeping me focused on something and thinking. which is good. both are good. :)
so, to me, this one is all about stopping and smelling the roses. in our world, we are all busy, going here and there, doing this and that, blah blah blah. sometimes we don't stop to see or think or enjoy. as photographers, i think most of US do this more than the average person, yet still not enough sometimes. anyone agree??
so here i am, in my classroom (which, by the way is also the music room on the opposite days, which is why there are musical notes on the door/wall... I asked "my kids" to help out w/ this, and they were pretty jazzed. i explained to them what it was all about. i was shocked to know that they totally "got" the concept. they fully understood that "slowing down" is something everyone should do from time to time. these are 2nd and 3rd graders by the way. and they LOVED doing the running....you should see the outtakes. ahahhahaha!!!!
and incase you've never heard this fabulous song, here ya go:

You're moving too fast
Frames can't catch you when
You're moving like that"

Jack Johnson may be my favorite artist ever. although I have a place in my heart for all music, Jack Johnson has somehow managed to get a bigger spot! I love his vocals and the simplicity and relevance that make his lyrics so poignant. So this is a wallpaper I made a while ago using screen-grabs from his Upside Down Music video for the Curious George movie.
I made the Polaroid thing and thumb tack for it and added a sharingan "logo" for good measure!
...I've haven't been having a good time recently...I'm right now i'm kinda tired so maybe if I play my Jack Johnson albums I'll feel better :)
“Who’s to say what’s impossible and what can’t be found?”
- Jack Johnson
my own personal take on the "what's in your bag" shot. i have a feeling this is going to get booted out of the group pool but hey, i've never been much of a purse carrier.
the biggest challenge for me in my 365 so far as definitely been keeping things creative. sometimes i feel uninspired, like i'm just regurgitating awesome ideas someone else has had. sometimes it's totally purposeful, but other times i feel like there's just no imagination in my stuff.
i need to remember what makes photography, or any kind of artform for that matter, special. it's all about self-expression, right? a great picture is only great when it speaks about the photographer who created it, whether their coming out through the composition, the processing, the idea behind it, it doesn't matter...it's theirs. no one else can duplicate it or take credit for it. it exists because of their creativity, their thoughts, their imagination. and when people can appreciate it and relate to it, that's pretty phenomenal.
so it's time i stopped wishing i could be like other people, and embraced who i am as a photographer, and what i can do myself.

...To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars
Listen to all the translations
Of the stories across the sky
We drew our own constellations
this is really simple. but lately I just want to upload the ones I'm not sure about anyway. Lately I just feel like being random at editing- just whatever I feel like at the moment. Thanks for putting up with it. :D
I love this song by Jack Johnson. I just love the simple things in life. :)

It was just another night
With a sunset and a moonrise
Not so far behind
To give us just enough light
To lay down underneath the stars
Listen to all translations
Of the stories across the sky
We drew our own constellations

it's always more fun
to share with everyone

Linda como uma canção de Jack Johnson...
Nice week-end for all.
--------------
Hermit crabs and cowry shells
Crush beneath his feet as he comes towards you
He's waving at you
Lift him up to see what you can see
He begins his focusing
He's aiming at you
And now he has cutaways from memories
And close-ups of anything that
He has seen or even dreamed
And now he's finished focusing
He's imagining lightning
Striking sea sickness
Away from here
Look who's laughing now that you've wasted
How many years and you've barely even tasted
Anything remotely close to
Everything you've boasted about
Look who's crying now
Driftwood floats, after years of erosion
Incoming tide touches roots to expose them,
Quicksand steals my shoe,
Clouds bring the f-stop blues
Look who's laughing now that you've wasted
How many years and you've barely even tasted
Anything remotely close to
Everything you've boasted about
Look who's crying now

It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving.
I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together...
it's been awhile, hasn't it? sorry, just haven't been able to get to this like i've wanted to.
to catch up this week, i decided to focus on my newest musical love, Jack Johnson. no eloquent, in-depth reviews from me, just the fact that he's been in almost constant rotation in my car and at work. i can't think of a better review, actually.
thanks go to auntnanny, and especially calvo for pointing me in his general direction. :)
"I want to take the preconceived out from underneath your feet. We could shake it off and instead we'll plant some seeds. We'll watch them as they grow and with each new beat from your heart the roots grow deeper. The branches, well they reach for what?"

some people say they feel free after the end of a long relationship.
i feel unrooted.
not held in one place anymore:
stuck to wander around;
with nobody particularly bothered.
i feel un anchored.
i don't like this feeling.
for the critics of this photo: this is three photos on one: a blurred globe because i spun it around on a slow shutter speed, a focused globe, and the type-written text
breakupmemory:
i remember the best ever day with you.
we lay on your spare bed and named all the birds on the pillows.
we fought over the names.
you called one Poppy.
I can't always be waiting, waiting on you
I can't always be playing, playing your fool
I keep playing your part
But it's not my scene
Want this plot to twist
I've had enough mystery
Keep building it up
Then shooting me down
But I'm already down
Just wait a minute
Just sitting, waiting
Just wait a minute
Just sitting, waiting

So tomorrow is my last day at Rolling Stone after 8 months and it all culminates with finally getting published in the magazine. I've been there since January and have had some crazy experiences, met lots of incredible people, and I hope, grown as a person and as a photographer. Thanks to everyone who has been so amazing and supportive, everyone has given me a chance or helped me with advice (technical/personal/whatever), because I owe a lot of people huge thank you's (or dinners). The new issue comes out tomorrow (it's the one with an illustration of George W. Bush riding an elephant on the cover) so if you get a second, check out page 20 to see my Girl Talk and Jack Johnson photos.
I'm heading back to Boston in September to finish up school (more than halfway done!) and will continue photographing up there as much as possible.
NYC, you've been fun.
Also a little fun fact: These photos were from the last large format Rolling Stone.
Basically what happens when I'm really bored and am procrastinating other business. I put my iPod on shuffle and whatever song comes on, I'll write down the artist in Black sharpie, then in colour I write any lyrics I can catch while the song goes on, or any that stand out in particular.
Here's the glorious mess of an outcome.
