Today, Pauls Pix 53 and I, went for a wander around Battle Abbey (English Heritage).
Dotted around the property, were little scenes like this, which was handy for me, as it gives me another one for the 365 treasure hunt, number 34 Jack-o'-lantern :)
Oh, and there was 2 lots of coffee and cake in the Abbey cafe :) We were the first ones in the morning, but come the afternoon, the cafe was jam packed and we managed to get the last table indoors, otherwise, it was sitting outside under the dripping trees.

Today marks the 98th birthday. If you don't know who Jack Kirby is, change that. He's the reason comic books exist as they do today. He designed most of the marvel universe from scratch, and went on to DC to create some of their most outstanding work. He'll always be remembered by his incredible creativity and outstanding art style. Rest in peace, Jack.
My brothers cat Jack, captured on a lounge chair. Taken with 35mm f/1.8 at ISO200 and f/3.2, with SB600 flashgun with bounced light in RAW. Layered with CS4, converted to black and white, erased eyes and increased their saturation, contrast increased and bordered.
This little natural waterfall runs along someone's yard. They built a beautiful brick gazebo nearby to sit and relax by it...rough, huh?
With the poor visibility and lack of sharks, I decided to experiment around with some slow shutter shots of these big amberjacks and almaco jacks as they tore through schools of sardines and silversides.

Every morning, Jack and his friends have their morning meeting on the roof rails on the Jeep.
Have no idea why specifically my roof?
The roof is black, and perhaps provide more safety than a white roof, I dunno.
Had a good talk with their boss, Jack.
He agreed to let me carefully lift him off the rails and put him on the ground instead. He even posed for a picture.
This week’s 52F assignment is titled "Leading Lines." I decided to visit the grocery store, where I attached my camera to a shopping cart and used an ND filter to capture some long-exposure shots. I found that the combination of Jack's pizza and Diet Coke provided a unique twist on the classic drink, Jack and Coke.

Flickr apparently has no capability of keeping descriptions. Five months ago when I posted this pic I wrote a rather detailed description. Frequently, my descriptions just disappear. Then, months later I try to rewrite them and I have forgotten much of the details.
Anyway, this dog is named Jack. But, perhaps his name could be Jacque. He is the dog resident at the Poppy House and greets everyone who visits.

massive amounts of photoshop through very tired eyes, my dSLR isn't the best performer in low light at ISO 800

Jack's pants and boots are a wonderful gift from Jocelyn! Thanks Dear Joce!! I'll show his boots later in a planned shoot with (hopefully) a replica of his shirt. With all my historical figures, I'm sure to have the proper shirt around!!
I've had Jack's head for a couple of years now and this is the 1st time he's been publicly posted. Jocelyn had no idea that I had him ..... but she does now!!
I'm sure I was Titanic's biggest fan. I've made myself almost exact replicas of Rose's 2 main gowns .... and have worn them in public several times too!!
I woke up this morning.
No I am noting going to break into some blues song.
I woke up this morning to a lovely photo on Instagram of a gorgeous little jack Russell belonging to an equally cute girl who is here in flicrland and it reminded me of the photos I took on Thursday with my little pooch Gracie.
So here is one of them. she loves having her tummy rubbed.
original pre-winter drawing by: Bill Rogers
This drawing was partially inspired by characters from Jack Frost, and Ub Iwerks ComiColor Cartoon (1934).
here they are. all 3 Jack Rabbits. Custom Order.
Hand Sculpted in cold porcelain clay.
Each one measures 2.55" H (6.5cm)
Tan color, blue inserts and tails and each one is wearing a green scarf.
....working in series is a lot harder than producing just one piece....all need to be identical yikes!
oh! and another thing.....bunny ears...you gotta let them dry first, before you stick them on the head and join them together for a smooth finish, otherwise they fall down.
P.S. > The hearts are little metal hearts inserted into the fresh clay.... this way all 3 hearts are the same size.
