There is something about the Jacarandas in full bloom that brings out a feeling of magic in all of us.
A close-up of the jacaranda flowers. When the tree is in full swing, these beauties form an almost seamless carpet of purple!
In both country and urban localities at this time of year one can glimpse the purple blue colour of Jacaranda trees dotting the terrain. An introduced species from South America probably via ocean currents the tree and carpet of fallen petals form a welcome contrast to to the usually sun scorched background.
We have thousands of these trees in the city, here on the desert, but they don't grow wild here. This spring, we had an unusual amount of rain, so the jacarandas gave us a real show.
