Jacaranda irwinii - BIGNONIACEAE -
Parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina - Palmeiras - Bahia - Brasil.
Last Sunday I went to Baddesley Clinton, a National Trust house in Warwickshire. The courtyard there has buildings around all four sides and it was warm enough to sit outside (which is rare enough in England) and enjoy some tea and cake, or an ice cream. And there was some suitable period entertainment, a recently formed recorder quartet called Jacaranda, playing some appropriate Tudor pieces in the main, and sounding rather wonderful in this setting. I may be slightly biased because my wife was one of the players, but they were really very good.
There were lots of small children there and they were all fascinated, maybe because they do not often see live music, especially played by four ladies of a certain age!
Baddesley Clinton is perhaps best known for being one of the strongholds of the Catholic faith in Tudor times. See Wikipedia for more information:- ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baddesley_Clinton

It's Jacaranda time again. The base of this drawing was done with crushed Jacaranda blossoms. The browns seen throughout and much of the purple and blue come directly from the flowers. There are actually pieces of the blooms still embedded into the paper. The foreground is crayon.
This is more of a reference shot to make go back and do something. Saw it as we were leaving Balboa. There were about 3 or 4 Jacaranda's around this old shed and with the green of the shed and purple above and below I thought it looked so beautiful.

Every day for 365 days I published an image to www.cloudtogroundimages.com. This is one of them
Camarillo, California. Jacaranda trees are beautiful when they inally bloom, and they cast sticky petals about and then die back a bit.... I removed a tree from our yard when we moved in 30 years ago. A neighbor said it was the most popular climbing tree in neighborhood, but I had plans for other bushes and trees... and who wants that liability?

Jacaranda Trees are native to South America, but were introduced to parts of Australia and Africa. I happened to be in Johannesburg when the trees were in full bloom.

Hot and dry spring day, but it is a season for Jacaranda storm in Brisbane.
Despite heat and haze, I did enjoy the walk, and I hope you like my shots, please tell me what is your favorite.
These marvellous purple flowered trees are blooming all over eastern Australia now. Amazing site in November. This is in our garden. They're from South America.
All the Jacarandas are blooming now and covering the sidewalks under them with lavender colored blossoms.
We have one street in town that has them all down the median strip and it is breathtaking.
I've tried 3 times to get a good Jacaranda photo but they seem to be very hard to shoot. Something about the lacy leaves or flowers - I don't know what. They sort of fade away. But here is one anyway because I really love them.
