Joshua Lawson and Patricia Lawson, and wanted a Frozen themed party. Her wish, granted through sponsorship and the Make A Wish Foundation, was to go to Disney World.

Airborne & Special Ops Museum, Fayetteville, NC.

 

The Airborne Special Ops Museum tells the story of Army airborne and special operations units from their 1940 origin and movement to the Fayetteville area in March of 1942, through the present. The 59,000 square-foot, 22.5 million dollar museum houses many rare and impressive artifacts, including a C-47 “Skytrain” airplane suspended from the ceiling, complete with a paratrooper in the door. A fully restored CG-4A glider, one of only a handful that remain from WWII, is on display, along with two helicopters, a Sheridan tank, and a complete collection of uniforms, equipment and weapons spanning the sixty-year history of this exciting segment of the armed forces.

The Father Daughter ball held at the Fort Bragg Club June 20 was heavily attended. Fathers in their best suits or dress uniforms escorted their Daughters elegantly dressed in the latest fashions. Carter praised the readiness of the servicemen and women stationed at Fort Bragg, promising a bright future as the very tip of the spear in the nation’s global strategic posture.

Master Sgt. (ret.) Jennifer Loredo and her Family unveil a plaque marking the naming of the Staff Sgt. Edwardo Loredo Child Development Center during a ceremony held at the new facility on Pope Field, Friday. The dedication honored the sacrifice of Loredo, who was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, and was killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan on June 24, 2010. The Fort Bragg Child, Youth and School Services dedicated the hourly-care facility to the memory of the paratrooper, whose Family were patrons of the installation’s child development centers.

The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation is pleased to announce that 1st Lt. Elizabeth Trobaugh, XVIII Airborne Corps, has been awarded a 2014 Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship.

Administered for the U.S. Department of State by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, the Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowships develop a source of men and women whose academic backgrounds fulfill the skill needs of the State Department and who are dedicated to representing America’s interests abroad.

Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellows receive financial support towards a two-year, full-time master’s degree program in a field related to international affairs and diplomacy such as public policy, international affairs, public administration, and other related academic fields. Fellows participate in one domestic and one overseas internship.

Upon the completion of their master’s degree, they commit to five years of service as a foreign service officer.

Trobaugh graduated from Mills College in 2010 with a B.A. in International Relations and plans to attend Columbia University for her master’s degree.
