I had a drink in the 'irish bar' this evening, and it was full of icelandic people wearing Liverpool shirts, watching them playing football. The icelandic restaurant, down the road, had a few American officers, and the Thai restaurant, opposite, was empty.
For our lunch break at the Scholars Lounge Irish pub (Via del Plebiscito 101), Mke ordered the Guinness beef stew. Although we should have perhaps sought out a proper Italian meal, the convenience factor brought us here, as the pub was just a couple of blocks from Piazza Venezia and Il Vittoriano. Food, drink, air conditioning, free WiFi, and English-speaking staff -- a perfect respite from the hot and dusty streets of Rome!

That's an old picture I came across remembering a trip to ireland and scotland. That's actually an Irish pub in dublin, but still pouring czech beer!

Fun facts: the Irish Pub in New Hope had a spin-the-wheel-to-get-your-deal thing on Thursday nights. Pints were $1.75. Oh, and it also had a Northern Ireland shirt in the window with "Ireland" printed on it. I'm sure Irish people would spot the difference pretty quickly.
