At f/9.0 you can make out the ntire flower but at the cost of the background not fading quite as dramatically as I like. Having the entire bloom in focus is worth it to me.
This is a strange coloured Iris my mother rescued from a rock pile many moons back. It has been dug up and moved twice since. It has sort of become a member of the family without us realising it.
This is a darker version of the original Iris photo. I am not sure which one is better. Image color and brightness perception are different on different monitors and tablets. It's different even on the same monitor during different daytime and nighttime hours, depending on surrounding lighting source. I am not sure if I want to dive into monitor calibration issues and fine color&brightness corrections. Is it possible to have an image that looks good an any device?
Spent a few minutes taking pics of neighbors flowers...it's in a mutual part of where the yards meet so I didn't feel too silly:)
Blue Moon Diner at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan has some lovely iris plantings along both sides of its parking lot. I shot this iris during a museum visit on June 3, 2017.

This white iris is nice viewed in the large size. I tried cropping it but I liked the contrast of green .... this has the glow of morning sun on it....just couldn't resist capturing it!!!
Spotted at the Ann Arbor City Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 27, 2017 during their annual car show.
