(Iris winogradowii x Iris histrioides)

These came up much later than Iris 'Pixie' - I actually thought they'd rotted. A lovely surprise!

same iris as yesterday! i love this vivid indigo variety that blooms so early!

Quanto mais eu fuxico na minha pasta, mais acho fotos não postadas.

Assim vou tentando colocar a galeria em dia.

O Íris é um esmalte roxo com shimmer prata bem discreto, foram duas camadas e a secagem foi boa.

Iris, moved from my plot in the community garden to neighbors next door because there is no yard or space to actively garden in this apartment.

July 14, 2015. This is the iris in the front yard garden. No, this is not shot with flash at night, rather, trhe iris is in bright sunlight, which makes the background dark by comparison.

Taken at Animal Rescue inc. York County, PA.

Hybridized by Sutton, released in 1999

Dwarf Violet Iris (Iris verna). Blackwater Ecological Preserve, Zuni Pine Barrens, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.

A lovely reticulated iris.

Frequently seen labeled Iris reticulata 'Pixie', it is a sport of Iris 'Harmony' (Iris histrioides x Iris reticulata)

I planted this and some crocus together in a cheerful yellow pot. I don't remember what color the crocus are!

I had to dash out early this morning to meet with friends to spend the day at Bow Valley Provincial Park - roughly a 45-minute drive west from Calgary - and, because I overslept by an hour, I didn't have time to write all my descriptions before I left home. It was gloomy and raining, but we decided that we would still go. We found quite a few wildflowers - unfortunately, though, because everything was covered in millions of teeny raindrops, almost every one of my photos came out blurry, lol! I was also having a few problems with my camera, which does not feel good! Everywhere looked beautiful, clean and fresh and SO green from all the rain we've been having, but there was barely any sign of the surrounding mountains, which were covered in very low cloud and mist. Thanks so much for organizing this trip, Sandy, and thank you, Stephen, for driving us out there and back. So much appreciated!

This photo was taken on 20 July 2010, at the Priddis Greens Golf Course, when a few of us botanized the areas around the greens. I seem to remember that a clump of these gorgeous blue Irises were growing "wild".
