iPhone birthday cake made for my boyfriend's son. We bought him a real iPhone for Christmas so now he has the cake to match!

Took a walk in the Park with my wife. Liked the way this turned out. iPhone all the way on this one - used a App on the iPhone to "work over" this light capture.

Used GLAZE which is an App for creating Painterly (converts photos into textured paintings) iPhone photos.

There is another shot in the comments - none of these are too special, but I liked the light and the shadows. And somewhat radioactive colors.

Sooooo much cooler than my car which is still driven by stinking old gasoline! Like gazillion times cooler.

This is going to be my "Words" cliche entry for Cliche Saturday scavenger hunt. I was not driving when I took this, I swear. I had to restrain myself plenty of times from pulling out an iPhone while on the road and trying to take a shot of a fun bumper sticker on a car right in front of me. I may still do it one day, but this will be the whole new level of crazy! HCS, everyone!

Kingfisher beer is the most common brand in India. It is brewed by United Breweries Group which is based in Bangalore. The Group also owns Kingfisher airline. My flight to Lucknow was on Kingfisher airline. Can you tell where I am going with this? They should be serving Kingfisher beer on Kingfisher airline and for free too! RIGHT? But they don't. Major disappointment.

The lamest of the lame "bench Monday" shot. Although did you hear the lame is *in*? I am not saying it is definitely in. At this point it is just a rumor. But I saw this bench yesterday and no one was around to think I am nuts. So I got on it and took a shot. With an iPhone. HBM everyone!

Well, not really. It is just raining. Or rained...because today it is sunny again. Hurricane Irene was not much of a hurricane in my part of the state, which is far enough from the coast. We lost power for a few hours, had some wind, lots of rain, few branches down, my backyard is a mess, but nothing major. Hopefully it will be as relatively mild up North as it was here. And thanks everyone for checking on me!

Now, my actual Sliders Sunday version is under the fold, but I put this animated one on top because - for whatever reason - I couldn't link to video in the comments. This way you can play it. With the sound too. The iPhone app I used here is called Magritte My World and was developed by the Tate Gallery. It is free and fun. Although how many times you are going to add Magritte's "falling men" to your images? Probably just once. Which I just did, so this is it for me. HSS, guys! And those of you who are still dealing with Irene, stay safe!

May be only a bathroom mirror selfie (hey, I have one of those too!). But I have an excuse - this was meant specifically for a cliche saturday group which is founded by JordyR.

Two things are painfully obvious from this picture: my car needs some serious washing (all these dots are NOT a texture which I so often apply to my images) and I need a haircut. ASAP.

Apparently there is a story - or stories - behind the name as you can see here...and this is what this foot symbolizes. But for the longest time after moving to North Carolina I thought that it meant "North Carolina will kick your butt". My bad.

I had an old friend staying with me for a couple of days. Last time I saw him was 8 years ago, so catching up involved good food, wine, talking late into the night, and more wine. Good times.

As you can see I didn't waste any time during my meeting in DC. This was taken from a meeting room window which didn't seem too dirty to me, but apparently it was. Now this "dirty texture" is the only thing that looks interesting here.

I had to spend two boring hours at Toyota dealership with iPhone being my only entertainment there. So naturally I took a bunch of random pictures and played with photo apps. This one is fake double exposure: the first shot is of people in the Toyota waiting room (I think the guy in the background fell asleep and everyone else was really close to joining him), and the second one is of my window at home. Cross processed with iPone application as well. Ta-da!!

A 20 sec exposure with light painting. The 3D word "polaroid" created by sliding an iPhone 4 across the frame during the first 10 seconds of the exposure (the iPhone app is called HoloPaint). Then the next 3 seconds were spent fumbling in the dark feeling for the LED penlight and the last 7 seconds painting the front of the camera.

And that camera is a NPC 195 Instant Film Camera.

This one is from a while ago, taken with my old iPhone (one more is in the comments section). I was trying to clean/organize my picture files for a couple of days now and it was beyond frustrating. So here is a serious question: how do you file, store, backup your pictures? When I started on flickr, I was using it mainly as a storage. But now I am taking way more pictures and editing them all, which means I am ending up with 5 or more versions for each shot, so uploading all these on flickr is out of question. And I am having trouble deleting any. And while I am filing these by country/event/date, I am still struggling finding things or remembering what I have where.

Backup sucks too. I have Time Machine doing backup automatically, but my first one died unexpectedly. Apple replaced it at no cost, but not the files on it, obviously. Luckily I had them all on my hard drive still. So the lesson is, you have to back up everything in two different places, right? But it is hard to keep track of what I already backed up and what I didn't. Still haven't figured out how to do that.

And do you print any of your shots? I used to print most of my final versions, but now I have hundreds waiting to be printed and it is overwhelming. Also I am not sure I want to print them, but then I kind of do. And today I am having a photo shoot for my friend's kid who turned one year old recently, so I'll end up with hundreds more pictures.

So what do you do?

There was a huge line outside - apparently tattoos are really big right now in Washington. No, I made it up, but at least they are not out of business like the place next to them.

This is my second iPhone cake. All apps are cut and assembled by hand using fondant and petal paste/gumpaste.

At least this is what Wage and Babo think. Next time they are going for 8.

It was so, so hot there in May-June...I don't know if lying still makes it any easier. But right now it is damn hot here in North Carolina as well. And it's been way too hot for at least a month and a half at this point...Time to try something creative...like lying still may be!!
