With this little piggy flying over your head, it seems kind of silly to be using this expression. But at least we still have "when hell freezes over", which is a little harder to ruin by providing a visual than a flying pig concept. In Russia we used to say "when the crayfish on the hill whistles", which is soooo silly and sounds even sillier when you translate it into English. Who comes up with these things?
This is a pig from our neighborhood barbecue joint. Several people noticed it in my yesterday's shot and I thought I should post a closeup today. Flying pigs are not something you see every day!
The Menzies Centre, Hobart, Tasmania.
The Centre is a medical and research training facility in the city. The exterior of the building is intended to represent the contours and waterways of the surrounding nipaluna country.
I also shot this as a long exposure but thanks to slab grey skies, the test shot - with some actual cloud detail - ended up being better :-)
Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, 6.86mm f/1.8 rear camera, 1/4400th sec at f/1.8, ISO 100. Moment 18mm T-Series wide lens.
From a shoot this summer, edited in Lightroom and an iPhone app. Thank you for your appreciation, Gail
Between bench Mondays, fence Fridays and bokeh Wednesdays, I never seem to get it right. I think I am on target today...unless it is fence Mondays and bench Fridays...grrrr!
Taken with an iPhone.
Another one of those situations when I was asked to take a picture. Although I was glad he asked. Allahabad rickshaws have the most beautiful carriages - with fancy paintings and embroidered tops. If I had time to just go around and take pictures of all these carriages, I would definitely do that.
And now tell me if this guy is not wearing a Harley Davidson shirt. Because it certainly looks like one.
I spent 30 long boring minutes stuck in traffic this morning on my way to work, which is not very common, but still highly annoying. At least I had a chance to test my iPhone photo applications...you can see few more shots below the fold.
IPhone collage and tribute to Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow created with Squiggles over a digital photograph of a small 1920's manniquin I have.
...or not. Taking pictures with an iPhone from a moving car is not a very smart thing to do. I should have used real camera, but grabbed whatever was closer. With the guy on the bike carrying this bright yellow bag and a woman on the back seat dressed in yellow sari...I thought it could make for a great shot. But our car was passing his bike too fast (no surprise) and hit a pothole (also no surprise) as I was pressing the "shutter" button. So you can see the result is nowhere near great - poor guy is missing a top of his head and woman barely made it into the frame. Still...there is something about this shot that I like.
Gorakhpur, India. Taken with an iPhone, some postprocessing in Photoshop.

The original version hit the melted muck so I am bring back the remastered version to see if it can make the cut....
Experimental surreal creation of a Union Pacific locomotive in an oil drop against a hearth fire. It struck me as symbolic of the importance of railroads in hauling the nation's essential consumer commodities.
Created on my iPhone, using two of my earlier photos, within the PIP Camera App.
The Locomotive is shown in the comments below. Also, here's the link:

The phone I ordered was supposed to be shipped on July 2nd, but it came yesterday totally unexpected, especially considering all the horror stories about Apple running out of phones really fast. I don't know what happened, but I am not complaining!
I activated it today and even used it for a conference call. The sound is way better than on the old one, but who cares about the sound...not me! The screen is to die for! Camera is hugely better - this is taken with a new phone and there is pretty noticeable difference in quality. But also photo apps work much faster, which is sweet! I'll post more test shots tomorrow - not sure yet if all of my applications will work on it and how well...but they will be updated eventually. Anyway...I know exactly what I am doing this weekend. :-)
Another food line from Friday. Our street is still completely covered with ice and my car is stuck. Good thing power didn't go out this time so I can work from home and hopefully the ice will melt today. Taken and edited with an iPhone.

iPhone tribute to Ferdinand Leger created with Brushes, Crop 'n' Frame and ZeusDraw Mobile iPhone apps.
This is an evil rail all gas stations in US put right next to the pump - when you open your car door, it is almost guaranteed you'll slam it into this rail...See the marks? Very exiting every time. If someone knows what is the purpose of this thing, please tell. Taken and edited with an iPhone.

Taken and processed (mostly) with an iPhone. I have used three different applications to crop, cross-process and apply zoom blur, and afterwards just a touch of photoshop to clear the right side of the image from being blurry. You can see unprocessed, uncropped original in the comments. HSS, everyone!
I was supposed to go to the dentist for a cleaning eight months ago. I didn't.
Then I broke a tooth.
The dentist knows me very well. He knows I only call when there is an emergency. I think he must have my name penciled in, just in case, because he always fits me in.
What is most awesome is that I endured the visit sans Novocaine. What up, bitches?
Camera: iPhone 4s

No, actually I do...sometimes. But not today. I am not sure if this one qualifies for Sliders Sunday as - believe it or not - I didn't do any sliding here. But I take credit for choosing iPhone camera application which produced the most outrageous result. I spent 30 minutes on my deck shooting into the sun and trying different iPhone apps and filters until I got this effect. You can see another, more sane version, in the comments, but I really liked this one...it is soooo over the top! HSS everyone!
Taken with an iPhone.
You can check the original in the comments and see that this is some very radical "sliding". Although, I must add, embarrassingly easy one. A click of a button is all it took. This iPhone app makes some wonderful bubble refractions, especially if you are working with the right picture. Unfortunately, resolution is ridiculously low...barely suitable even for web. But I still like the effect. Happy Sliders Sunday, everyone!
